There are insufficient staff to meet the resident's needs. There is a very high turnover of staff which is most unsettling to an elderly person, who needs intimate care. Everything is late - getting up, lunch, etc. My sister and father were stuck in the lift for 5 mins and no one answered the alarm. I wish we had put him elsewhere.

This is the most amazing place. The staff are always helping patients with care, friendliness and patience. They informed me promptly of any issues and maintained a presence at my Uncle's bed during his last hours.The organisation, staff training , Leadership and Management are excellent, the standard is set and maintained by the owner. My Uncle was always well presented whenever I called to see him. He required feeding, this was done with patience and cheerfulness. The premises are outstanding, very clean and bright, with lovely views and gardens. I was very concerned last year when faced with the task of finding a Nursing Home where he would be looked after well, I was so pleased I found The Cottage and felt fortunate that I was able to secure a place. Thank you to the owner and all his staff, I am extremely grateful for all they did to make my Uncle's last year comfortable and peaceful.
