View Full Details of Rhiwlas Care HomeMy uncle lived at Rhiwlas Care Home. The staff were amazing. They would always have a laugh and a joke with him. He was a cheeky chap and he loved a good joke. His laugh was contagious. The room was cleaned every day and the food looked and smelt lovely. They went round with a menu and he could choose what he wanted for the day. If they didn't have what he liked they would always try and get it for him. The staff worked really hard but always found time to make sure he was OK and ask if he wanted anything. He moved to go to a nursing home or he would have still been there. As a family, we highly recommend Rhiwlas.
The rooms in the home are small, but are kept clean and tidy. My mum isn't a big eater, but the food is fine for her. The best thing about the home for me is the people who run it and look after my mum, I feel that they always make me feel very welcome. The girls and men who do all the hard work always seem very approachable and pleasant.
I would highly recommend Rhiwlas Care Home. My mother-in-law has dementia and has been treated with the respect and care that is needed the staff are very supportive. The lady is great with everyone helping to engage all with the daily activities.
Mum has been living at Rhiwlas for approximately two years and has settled in well. The caring staff and the entertainment organiser are lovely and know Mum well. Mum’s room is small but kept very clean and she has everything she needs. Food is very good and the dining room is homely and friendly.
My auntie has been a resident at Rhiwlas for over twelve years now and she has always been well looked after. The carers are brilliant with her as well. My only gripe is not being able to get in and out on a weekend. I appreciate the staff are busy, but on a couple of occasions I've had to leave because no-one has opened the door for me.
Friendly staff. Clean home. It appears that since the home has been taken over by this company, seems a lot better. Our relative seems a lot brighter. More activities. Due to living over 200 miles away, we are unable to visit often, but when we do we are impressed.
My mum is well cared for, but she is waiting to be moved to an EMI nursing home but I would prefer her to stay at Rhiwlas. All staff are excellent and all refer to my mum by her first name. The food is also excellent- which I've witnessed first hand and if my mum was still hungry they would bring more food for her - she never goes hungry.
I came into Rhiwlas Care Home for 6 weeks on 28th July while my wife recovered from a minor hernia operation. Having never been in care before, I was very apprehensive. I needn't have worried. The atmosphere is superb and the friendly staff could not be faulted. If I ever need respite care, this is definitely the place I'd come back to.
My mother has settled extremely well into Rhwlas and appears to have a good relationship with all the staff. My only concern is the lack of fresh fruit available. I would also like entry and exit access for regular visitors made easier to save calling on already busy staff to open the doors for me; I do understand the security difficulties the home has. Otherwise, I think the care home has provided a new lease of life for my mum - thank you.
The home is warm and inviting, the staff engage well with the residents. There are plenty of activities arranged for people to enjoy. Dad has been here for 6 months now and although it was difficult at first for him to adjust to his new life in a care home, this was made much easier by the kind and caring staff.
My father has been here for six months and is slowly adjusting to being in the care home. The home is nice, light and kept clean. There are weekly activities to occupy residents, and he is given the option of joining in or having a quiet afternoon in his room, either watching tv or listening to music/reading. Staff are very caring and friendly and do their very best to cater for his ongoing needs. He often likes a lie-in and having breakfast in bed. No problem! There is a good choice of freshly cooked food which he enjoys. It is good to see care is centred around Dad, and he can choose what he wants to do. He said he feels safe here and is well looked after. Thank you, team.
My mother has Alzheimer's at 80 years, and my father has Dementia with sundowning at 84 years. Dad has been in Rhiwlas since April 2022, Mum joined Dad in January 2023 as her condition worsened over the Christmas period. They had been apart for nearly three years. The team at Rhiwlas have been so supportive, so understanding, and facilitating my parent's needs to the point they have a twin-bedded bedroom, and the team has also made a separate lounge area for them to enjoy each other during the day and have their meals in this space too - or in the main dining rooms. From the ladies on reception through to accounts, the assistant manager and the manager - I cannot fault the team. The department teams also need a special mention; they take pride in their work and the care they give my parents. They engage, they chat, they care, and that is crucial for me having both Mum and Dad in Rhiwlas.
Mum moved in just before Christmas she settled straight away. Staff are very friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Lots of stuff going on for Christmas.
My mother is very happy with the care she is receiving. Nice to see the home is being updated. All staff are vert friendly and caring to my mother. She enjoys their company. Thank you.
As always greeted by very helpful and friendly reception. The staff are always cheerful and warm towards mother who often says how well she is looked after. Overall the home is always clean and regular tea and homemade cakes are always welcome. Mum is very happy in her room. Thank you all at Rhiwlas.
Mum has been resident in Rhiwlas Care Home for a few months. My sister and I were quite concerned about her as she is 91 years old and recently lost her husband and then family home. We have been delighted with the care that mum is receiving. The staff without exception are very friendly and caring and mum has settled in well. We are also made to feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you Team Rhiwlas for your care and consideration.
My sister and I looked at various care homes for mum after we sadly lost our Dad earlier this year. Our Mum has been at Rhiwlas Care Home now since May 2022 and I cannot recommend it more. The home and facilities are good with improvements being planned going forward, the staff without exception are kind, caring and thoughtful they really cannot do more to help mum and make her feel comfortable the care is always delivered with a cheery smile but also professional and exactly what is needed and when it is needed. The food and choice is excellent and a vigil eye is kept to ensure my mum is eating and drinking enough. When I visit and the tea trolley comes around (which seems on a regular basis) I am always offered a tea or coffee. We are very happy and reassured that mum is getting the care and support she now needs.
My father has recently been placed in care. The management team were very helpful, polite and empathetic to our situation. My father's room is airy and satisfactory. The nursing staff are friendly, approachable and treat my father with kindness and dignity. The lounge/dining areas are furnished in a homely way to make residents feel comfortable in their surroundings.
We have been delighted with our relative's experience. The staff are excellent - at all times polite, helpful and treat our relatives with respect. Having visited many care homes during recent years, we believe this to rate very highly - for surpassing many of the others. (I am unable to comment on activities as his stay did not include them). Generally - excellent in all aspects.
My 99-year-old father is treated with care and dignity. All the staff are incredibly empathetic and help my father with activities of daily living. They are quick to get help from the local GP and/or hospital if my father isn't feeling well and in cases of medical care. They make dad feel like he is at home, taking time to have a laugh and a joke with him. I am grateful (very) to see dad settled and contended whilst knowing that he is being well cared for. Thank you team Rhiwlas.
