View Full Details of Stansty House Care HomeMy father was admitted into Stansty House Care Home about a month before he died. He was such an independent fighting spirit that it was very hard for him to give up the last of his freedom. There was no doubt in his mind that he had come to the end but, although physically exhausted, spiritually and psychologically, he didn't feel quite there. So, on admittance and for a few days, he was very frightened. But I can honestly say that the staff could not have done more to help him. Without exception, all worked to understand his needs and make his last weeks easier for him. Knowing how much his dignity meant to him, all did all they could to respect his dignity and personhood right to the end. He was well-fed and well-attended, and everyone who shared his care eased his passing in the end. I can say, I am happy that we chose this care home for my dad's final weeks and days.
I am very impressed with the staff and the care that they give to my friend. They are busy but kind and helpful. Always friendly and so patient with the residents and their visitors. Well done!
I feel my uncle is very well acted for, the food is very good, the staff always show respect and the laundry service is good. The manager is helpful and happy to discuss any issues. I speak on behalf of my uncle due to his dementia but he is happy which is our main concern.
My mum was transferred from hospital to this nursing home. From the very first minute I walked through the door I knew this was going to be a great place for my mum to spend what time she has remaining. My mum's room is very clean and tidy as is the rest of the home. The staff here are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They have made my mum and myself feel very welcome. They have activities most days including bingo and quizzes. I would highly recommend Stansty House if you need a caring team to look after your loved ones.
I am very happy with my husband's care at Stansty House Care Home. He is very comfortable and is being really well looked after with kindness and dignity. His room is spotless and his food is very nutritional. He is kept very clean. All the staff are caring and professional. The nurses, carers, and laundry staff are really good. The manager and her admin team are excellent. I feel relieved he is in a safe and secure home and that is Stansty House.
Each day I visit I speak a lot to the residents who always tell me they are happy. My mum is always happy with her care- albeit her 'issues' mean she is occasionally grumpy! Well done Stansty, you are amazing.
On arrival to view this home was met by the manager of the EMI unit, who was very friendly and understanding. We were shown around the unit and rooms. Plenty of staff in the unit. You can visit any time. The manager had all the information to hand, plus answered all our questions.
First impressions are very favourable. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. Food excellent and choices. The bed is comfortable, and the room is very pleasant.
My mother moved in in January 2023 following a broken hip. She previously lived independently but lost her husband in November 2022. The staff at the home have been amazing, helping my mum settle in. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent, and she loves all the activities. Last week, she said, "it was the best decision ever to move here - I love it here. The staff are lovely, and I have made great friends here. I'd hate to live alone now"!
The home is run in a very professional way as opposed to others I have visited. The staff are courteous and friendly always! My mother is treated with the utmost dignity and care, also knowing that I can sleep well knowing she is in safe hands.
My mum was very poorly in January, a decision was made with her doctor and myself for her to stay and be made comfortable at Stansty House instead of going to the hospital. The care and attention that the team leader and her caring team gave to Mum have resulted in my mum getting better. From being bedridden, not eating or drinking, on antibiotics and sleeping most of the time, Mum has become more responsive, is eating well and will get out of bed. I have also recently been sent a picture of my mum smiling in the dining room ready to tuck into a full English breakfast, a situation I did not think would happen again when she was poorly. My mum has been in Stansty House since lockdown day in 2020. Covid has made life very difficult for the staff and residents but I cannot thank them enough for the care my mum has received, especially during lockdown when I was unable to visit.
Overall, up to now, the care and level of nursing have been second to none. Unfortunately, I think a lot more care could be provided as to the amount of money being paid each week/month. Having said that, I know that staffing has been and will continue to cause you problems. Once these issues have been ironed out, I can only assume that the level of care we are paying for will increase.
I can not thank the staff at Stansty House for the care and attention my aunt has received there and is continuing to do so. It's the level of care she is receiving that I believe is contributing to her longevity. Thank you all so much. A lovely environment - safe and secure.
My father has been at Stansty House Care Home for seven months. There is a lovely atmosphere, and he feels safe and receives outstanding care from the wonderful and understanding staff. I am impressed that management is always approachable and responsive, and any concerns are dealt with immediately.
My mother has been in Stansty House Care Home for over eight months. She is very happy with the care she is receiving and says the staff are always lovely with her. All staff and management are approachable, and any queries or concerns we have are always dealt with promptly and professionally.
In my view, Stansty House Care Home is providing my father with an excellent standard of care due to his unstable diabetes. On speaking to my father, he stated that he likes the staff who support him.
My dad recently passed away after a short illness here. He died on 10th November, and we were not with him. The only comfort we have got is the carer looking after my dad that day went above and beyond and showed him the compassion and care that we could not at his time of passing. I want to thank her for being so kind. I think the care home is very lucky to have such a positive member of staff, and it would be nice if she got formal recognition and thanks within her work place.
After my mother was deemed not well enough to return home after a hospital stay, we were very pleased when we found Stansty House. Compared with other homes we had visited, the rooms here are larger, carpeted, and with modern furniture. Residents can also bring items of furniture from their own home eg a favourite chair, television etc. From the moment of her arrival, my mother was welcomed and treated with the utmost care and respect by all members of staff from the unit manager to the domestics and the kitchen staff. There is a friendly atmosphere and other residents seem very settled and happy. When necessary, staff raised any concerns regarding my mother's health and the GP was called out. Their hygiene and record keeping were excellent which meant that my mother's care was of a high standard at all times. There are regular activities which both residents and their families are invited to take part in.
