View Full Details of Eryl Fryn Nursing & Residential HomeMum is safe, happy and cared for here at Eryl Fryn. I am delighted with the care she receives and in constant contact with the carers at the home. The only caveat is new phone charging can be a little inconvenient but am really happy with the care.
Your staff were very good and helpful in all aspects of their work.
From the outset I would like to thank the manager and the deputy for all the help in accommodating my mother for her respite. All the staff are a credit to the home. Care assistants were always to hand if my mother needed help at any time day or night and felt safe and secure because of this. The laundry staff also got involved in making sure that she was kept with clean clothing and looked dignified at all times. If I arrived at meal times the kitchen staff were always polite and welcoming. I will certainly recommend Eryl Fryn in the future. Thank you all.
My wife has been a resident for at least a year. She is looked after very well. I visit her twice a week and am happy how she is both physically and mentally. She loves her food and eats well. She is visited by the hairdresser and chiropodist. The nursing home provides activities and has a choir and a singer with a guitar in. They play bingo and provide games, couldn't be in a better place.
My elderly mother was in the amazing care of Eryl Fryn for 9 months until very recently when sadly she passed away. I cannot begin to express my gratefulness to every single person within the Home. My mother was treated with genuine care, kindness and dignity by every single member of staff. From management, nursing/carers, laundry/domestic assistants and also kitchen staff. Whenever I visited she looked so clean and warm and well dressed in her own clothes regardless if she was in the lounge or in bed when unwell. My extended family who visited her very often always commented on how well cared for she looked. She was very fond of the carers who looked after her and has never had a bad word about any one of them, always telling me they looked after her so well and treated her 100% with dignity. The staff are a credit to the minster Group. My wish is that every member of staff knows how grateful I am. Thank you to you all.
Always looked unkempt. When I visit he is in a wheelchair with no footplates every time. Not in his own clothes.
Mum has been to three care homes in the last three years and none were entirely suitable for her needs. Eryl Fryn seems to have everything and the wonderful staff and management calmly ensure that all Mum's needs are met and very professionally too. I no longer worry about Mum as any incidents or problems are well catered for by the Eryl Fryn Team.
Staff have done their best during COVID and not many with the illness. Not been able to visit without an appointment so confined to bedroom visits. But what I have seen of the property it is very old, tired and confined and needs a complete refurbishment, maybe a conservatory at the side to give patients more room. The main entrance is straight to stairs and sitting area and toilets. Everyone comes through!
My mother was in Eryl Fryn from November 2021 to March 2022. During her time there, we had serious concerns, she has Alzheimer’s and a recent stroke. We found for her safety she was kept in bed in her room. She had little interaction as no activity organiser was available during her 4 months at the home, our questions only provided us with contrived and defensive answers from the manager who operated with a collusive style. All general questions were answered in a defensive manner and treated like a challenge. We lost confidence in the management. The nursing and care staff were lovely and appeared to look after Mum well. We reported a couple of serious concerns to the CIW. We have now moved Mum to a local nursing home.
During the final month of mum's care with you, and with covid restrictions in place, we so appreciate being allowed in to see her before her passing. Staff have been attentive and kind to both mum and ourselves. Thank you all.
Eryl Fryn is a fantastic care home. They have been looking after my mother for over two years. The nursing home keeps me up to date with any treatment, changes in mum's health, or any activities she's taken part in. The home takes her for drives so she can get out of the home. Although very hard and sad situation - I know my mum is cared for to a great standard.
The buildings are shabby and poorly maintained on the exterior. The mission statement is far from practicality. Individual needs are not catered for and mental wellbeing is not a priority. There are minimal activities to engage the elderly residents. There is an air of depression about the place. Hearing aids and TV remote control went missing, so TV was out of use for months. I was expecting phone updates on Fridays, but this only happened once. There needs to be a key worker for each resident as we never had the same staff member to speak to. This home needs to be more creative besides providing bed and board. Lack of training is obvious. Moved to a new home asap.
Our mum, for the year, was at Eryl Fryn and was treated with love and dignity which is all that anybody could ask for their loved one. The standard of personal and general cleanliness was above reproach. We were both very grateful for their care of our mum.
