Activities offered are great and extremely valuable to my mum's well-being and mental health. One member of staff, in particular, is great - I hope the activities continue. Other staff are great too, along with the manager. Room improvements have been slow, along with standard of room. Do worry how my mum is in her room on her own - what stimulation she has.

My mother has been here for nearly two years and we can honestly say for most of the time we've been really happy - both my mother and us as a family. There's always a warm welcome for us any time of the day - the staff are amazing and so friendly. We would also like to thank the staff member who's in charge of activities - these again has given so much pleasure to the residents.

Settled in well after initial minor problems. Most have been resolved satisfactorily. Care is very good, care staff treat my husband with dignity and empathy. He feels safe and loved by the people who work there.

I was very happy with the care my partner received. The staff always friendly and helpful, and even welcomed my partner's dog.

I am very happy with the care and kindness my wife receives. She has complex needs and relies solely on the staff for everything and I am more than happy to leave her in their care when I leave my visit with her. Although in recent years life has been difficult for both of us, without the care of all the staff at Southern House shown to my wife we couldn't feel as confident as we do. Thank you all for the care and compassion you give her.

This care home is like home from home. The staff is like family and all residents in my personal opinion are always smiling and seem very happy. I visit at different times of the day and it always looks well organised and tidy and my dad has settled in well.

From the moment Mum went to Southern House the level of care she received was excellent. All of the staff were caring, friendly and knowledgeable. Mum was treated with absolute respect and dignity. Southern House was always spotlessly clean, warm and smelled fresh. When Mum was at the end of her life, all of the staff were simply wonderful with her. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and Mum’s care couldn’t have been any better. All the members of staff that I had dealings with were completely wonderful. I’m delighted with the level of care Mum received.

A warm welcome and exceptional care provided by staff and nurses, highly recommended. This home is very caring all round and is highly recommended by locals and all whom visit. A very sort after home for all.

Friendly staff, manager really positive and easy to talk to. Would like someone on reception on a weekend, kept ringing, no one answering the phone. The meals looked good and nutritious. The resident needed help with eating and this was done well.

My sister is treated with dignity and understanding. I have observed a number of staff who are pleasant and gentle with my sister. The manager is approachable, and my impression of her is she manages the staff well. Overall, really happy.

The staff and management are amazing. The staff are very caring and compassionate. My dad sadly passed away, but the end-of-life care and treatment were fantastic. Nurses kept him pain-free, and the staff kept him well looked after. The new manager kept us informed and up to date. Home and bedroom are so clean and tidy.

On every visit, my aunt is well cared for. Staff are amazing. I don't know of a better care home - everything is excellent.

This care home is warm, friendly and inviting. The staff take time to engage with my mum, who has vascular dementia, and Mum recognises them and greets them with a smile. Mum's needs are met with great willingness. The staff are truly amazing.

My grandad was admitted because he was falling at home, and my nan could not cope. My grandad was a very proud man and had only ever lived with one person, which was my nan. He became extremely ill and required nursing needs. Unfortunately, we, as a family, had to make a difficult decision to place him into a nursing home. After viewing several different homes within the area and meeting the managers, we decided Southern House was the ideal place for him. Since then, the staff/nurses and manager have been absolutely amazing and taking great care of my grandad.
