View Full Details of Blaendyffryn HallBlaendyffryn is a beautiful building and the staff work very hard, but from what I have seen it's as if the owners have forgotten about it. The decor looks mismatched. They have attempted to re-decorate the main entrance but you can see it was done poorly in comparison with the painting their current handyman is doing. There is a lot of work that needs doing to the home and I'm afraid it won't ever get done. The staff that work at Blaendyffryn are trying their hardest you can see that as the standards of care are second to none. I'm always made to feel welcome, but I never know who I'm speaking with as all the staff have different coloured uniforms. When I asked a member of staff why everyone has different uniforms they said they have to buy their own so they get the colour they want. The food is edible. The staff absolutely adore working with the residents and that shows in their work and how the residents respond to them. I just feel the building is letting them down greatly.
My father had, unfortunately, a short stay at Blaendyffryn Hall after an extremely long stay of six months in the hospital, where it was a challenge for him to readjust to his new surroundings. On his first day, the staff were so lovely towards him and both my mother and myself; they were welcoming, caring, and so loving. Mother and I were very reassured that Blaendyffryn Hall was the correct nursing home for him. Their technic in caring for an Alzheimer's resident was amazing. We were kept informed regularly of his well-being and general demeanour. All we can say is that all staff at Blaendyffryn Hall are true angels, who are so dedicated to their vocation; they make the residents and relatives feel as though we belong to a huge family. The care my father received during his short stay and towards his passing was exceptional. Mother and I could not have asked for anything from them at all. Even the aftercare and support Mother and I have received too. Thank you.
I am so happy my mum has been able to make this her home. She moved here from another care home which was shocking and wouldn't allow us to talk and was very reluctant for us to visit her; she was in so much distress and became very ill. It is such a relief she is here now, and she is ever so peaceful, calm and happy. My mum has many health conditions, one being dementia and the other swelling legs; she has been to many specialists due to this, and nothing was making them better, but since she moved here for the first time, her legs have gone back to their normal size. The staff are very attentive and even get updated messages and photos.
A very caring environment. Lots of fun activities for residents, including arts and crafts, games and singing. Friendly and attentive staff.
The staff have been quick to welcome my wife to Blaendyffryn Hall after being discharged from hospital, despite her having more difficulties than they are used to dealing with. They have been proactive in getting information about her care from the hospital and other NHS sources. The carers are always popping in to check on her and take time to make sure she is comfortable, and she is now progressing to socialising with other residents. Visiting is welcomed and I am told daily of all my wife's ups and downs as if I am a part of the team. I am glad that she is being looked after by such dedicated professionals.
Blaendyffryn is a lovely welcoming home. All the day staff are more than happy to help with anything that my relative needs. My family are happy with the care that they give and how they treat the residents with dignity and respect. They have an activities coordinator who is full-time and doing an amazing job even when residents refuse. Management is so warm and welcoming and so easy to speak with. Keep up the good work
Sadly my mother-in-law is still in hospital, very ill, having spent only 6 weeks at this home. Very unsatisfactory nursing home overall. Although some of the staff are nice and there appear to be moderate improvements, Care with a capital āCā needs to improve.
As of 1st July 2022, my mother will have spent 7 weeks in Hospital. She will spend more time in hospital than her stay at Blaendyffryn Hall. Within weeks at this home, she is medically critical on admission to the hospital with sepsis and unmanaged diabetes. The home to date has not replied to my SAR (Subject Access Request). They have 28 days from the date of request to provide my mother her own notes, care records, and Mar Charts, so we can use them for her new assessment and for a solicitor. She will be placed in a professional nursing home and I would never recommend Blaendyffryn Hall to anyone for so many reasons. Reasons I am unable to specify on this review but if you look up my name on the internet you may well find full details.
They looked after my sister-in-law very well. They would check on her many times day and night. They worked above and beyond the call of duty. When we would visit they always made sure we were okay. A big thank you to them all.
Extraordinary care. The staff here are completely dedicated to the care of the guests (and that is what they are) in their charge. One of only two Nursing Homes in the county, this is a truly wonderful home for those that can no longer be in their own. The manager is a fully qualified Nurse in her own right, so you can expect excellent professional Nursing care but also, those providing the 'Care' in the home are fantastic: for both the residents and the visiting families. It's a big old converted hotel, so may seem a bit ragged at first, but it is warm and clean, it is caring - the food is lovely and relevant to each guest, and it provides a homely place for a happy and contented band of residents.
