View Full Details of Albert Edward Prince of Wales CourtAlbert Edward Prince of Wales Court Porthcrawl is a five star de-luxe facility unique in design. Staff are all willing, eager to help. I was impressed with all aspects.
A fantastic experience in a beautiful well cared for unique setting. The management, staff and volunteers would be a credit to any organisation. It was a delight to share valuable time and experiences with the residents. The Chapel in the home was a delightful space adding dignity to proceedings as was the full and varied programme of extramural events and activities.
The minute you stepped through the door you felt at home. All the staff from the top to the bottom were caring and compassionate.
Firstly I must comment on the general appearance of the home, it is spotless and smells beautiful of flowers and very welcoming and warm. The furnishings are first-class quality and carefully designed to give a calm and inviting vibe. The staff are incredible, very friendly and caring. My mum was very vulnerable when she came to the home only 3 months ago and already her improvement in her health is amazing. She is content, safe and feels like royalty, as sisters we are so grateful to have found such a wonderful place for our mum.
Can't fault any aspect of care my mother receives. All staff are most caring towards my mother and all other residents. The facilities are second to none, always get a great welcome whenever we visit.
My mum has been made very welcome during her first months as a resident. The level staff have made her transition from hospital very easy. Mum can be quiet and tall the staff have taken time to get to know her individual needs, likes and dislikes. Mum's health has improved a lot in just one month. Mum particularly enjoys meal times with the other residents and is very happy with the quality and choice of meals, Mum looks forward to her weekly hair saloon visit and like that she can join in with activities when it suits her. We are happy all around as a family.
Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court was selected for my stepmother just over two years ago. It came highly recommended and this has proved to be justifiable. The home is professionally managed ensuring a high standard of care and accommodation. The residents are treated kindly and their dignity is always maintained. Staffing levels are good, varied entertainment is provided and there is a good laundry service. The nurses and carers really seem to know the residents well and can be relied upon to act in the residents’ best interests. A friendly, professional and caring team.
My dad has been a resident at Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court for a number of years and the care he has received has always been first-class. The staff are fabulous and caring and the home is always spotlessly clean and has plenty of things going on for the residents to take part in. The bedrooms are very light and roomy and the communal areas are very pleasant and calm to be in. The home feels more like a hotel than a care home and the decor is bright and cheery, along with the staff working there. I can't recommend the place enough, thanks to everyone there for the care they've shown my dad over the years and continue to do so.
My mother has been a resident for the past 7 years as she has dementia and in that time the staff at the home have always gone the extra mile to make sure she is happy, cared for, and well looked after. This is an amazing home the best I have ever been to, I did look at a lot of homes before Mum went into the home originally. I couldn't thank the staff enough for the care they have given my mother over the past 7 years, she is 93 years old and her dementia is slowly getting worse but she is happy being loved and cared for by this lovely home. I visit the home twice sometimes three times a week and she is always well dressed and content I couldn't wish for a better. I don't say what days I will visit.
My mother is being well looked after. There are always people available to help and support. There are a variety of activities for my mother to be involved in but no pressure if she just wants to 'chill' in her room. Food is generally pretty good and there's always ice cream (which always helps!). Thank you.
My family has been associated with the Albert Edward Care Home for more than 30 years and our opinion has not changed. We agree with all the previous comments submitted by others, so no need to repeat them. My mother-in-law was a resident for a number of years and passed away at the home 12 years ago. Her care was inspirational. My older brother is now a resident there so we have the opportunity to visit and experience the continued high standards provided. On a personal note, we draw comfort from the possibilities of availing ourselves of the Albert Edward as time goes by. Well done to all the management and staff, cannot praise you enough, hence the 5-star rating.
The staff are always very helpful and friendly, they keep us informed of how my father is doing and his general health. The activities help to keep my father interested in what is going on around him.
The standard of care provided by the staff and carers at Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court is outstanding. All were provided with dignity, concern and gentle humour and with the utmost levels of professionalism. The home is immaculately clean with excellent daily activities. The well-maintained grounds provide for walking for the more mobile residents. When my late father was very ill I spent a number of nights at the home and could not have been made to feel more welcome in very challenging circumstances. As a family, we consider ourselves remarkably fortunate that both our parents have been looked after at the home. We live locally and visit the home a number of times a week and at different times of the day and evening, and the standard never wavers from excellent.
As always this care home never fails to deliver when it comes to Dad. He is so well looked after, cleanly dressed whenever I visit and he is above all happy. What more can I ask for? He always says it is like being on holiday as there are so many activities going on and he especially likes the singers/bands. He has a little bit of the garden that he calls his own where he has his bird feeding station and in the summer months he is regularly watering the flowers and plants. He has even got into doing some painting around the garden as well. The staff are so caring and patient with him, it's a joy to see when I visit, nothing is too much trouble. They always ensure his safety and reassure him if he is having an off day, which is few and far between now. The home itself is pristine and so inviting when you arrive, everywhere inside and out is kept in tip-top condition. 10 out of 10 as always from me, as I can't thank them enough for looking after him. Dad would say the same.
My mum has been at the Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court for over 2 years & their care & concern for her has been outstanding. She was recently admitted to a psychiatric ward for a short stay but thanks to the staff at Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court Mum was able to return swiftly to the Dementia unit & she’s so settled & happy.
Really impressed with the way that the home looked after our father over the Christmas period. It was his first Christmas since he moved in so we weren’t sure what to expect. The home was decorated nicely and in a way, he felt really comfortable with. He thoroughly enjoyed himself. Thank you to all the team.
My mother-in-law has been at the home since September & suffers from mild Alzheimer’s. The staff over the Xmas period have been amazing. She felt loved, entertained and included. Everyone has been so attentive on her “off days” & encouraged her to be the life & soul of the party when back on form. We are truly blessed that she is now with such a great bunch of people who genuinely care. We felt guilty not bringing her to us for Xmas but in all honesty I think she had a better time than we did!
The care Dad receives at this home is top-notch. The staff are medically attentive, caring and, above all, always respectful. The food is great, and the activities are well thought out to occupy those who want it. As we do not live in the UK, our visits to Dad are not as often as we would like, but the staff still know us, and communication by email is good, putting us at ease that he is in the safest place for his condition (Parkinson’s). We’re made to feel part of the team. After 18 months, Dad is starting to refer to it as ‘home’.
The care home endeavours to provide the best care possible at all times. They are always striving to bring global and local events that are happening in the outside world and include them in their social activities and I feel that this helps them to focus and have something to look forward to and that they can feel a part of. (Not just calendar events Xmas etc.). The home really puts a great deal of effort and emphasis on creating the best possible experience for the residents to enjoy and actively take part in and also feel a part of whatever the occasion is and it is always presented to a very good standard. The staff are always attentive and I feel confident and assured that they are fully appreciative of the resident's needs and will endeavour to help and do whatever is necessary to help and assist the residents in their everyday care which I’m sure at times can be difficult. The staff have also created a relaxed atmosphere whereby you don’t feel like a visitor but part of the team.
In March, my aunt will have been a resident at Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court for three years. Over that time, we have seen a massive change. Before going there she sat in a chair all day, wasn’t able to do anything and had no friends. Now, she enjoys going to activities with the friends she has made, participates in events and has gained in confidence. This is all due to the care and encouragement of all the staff at the home. I can’t thank you enough for all you do for my aunt.
