View Full Details of Brocastle Manor Care HomeMy mother continues to receive excellent care within the home. She participates in most activities when available.
The period under review reaffirms that the performance of the unit continues to please. As this period covers the festive season, once again, "the team" performed exceptionally well and on Christmas Day, in particular, yet again "the team" excelled. The fayre was exceptional but what impressed me the most was that, despite their "early hours in preparation", the chefs found the time to circularise the residents to see if all was ok. Well done.
No complaints. All very helpful.
We have been very satisfied since my sister has been in the home, she seems very happy there.
My relative was at Brocastle for 14years, she was so happy and well looked after throughout her time at the home, it truly was her home in every way. The staff quickly became her 'Brocastle family' greeting her every day with a big smile, whilst helping her to continue doing what she enjoyed and maintain her independence for as long as possible. She was treated with care, compassion and dignity at all times by every member of staff at the home and they go above and beyond to care for the residents at all times. The staff were not only there to reassure her when she felt low but also to sing and laugh with her when there were concerts. We were so happy with the care our relative received at the home, which was always a great reassurance for us as a family. During her last days at the home she was treated with so much love, compassion and dignity, the staff were so professional and caring at such a difficult time, something we will be forever grateful for. Thank you team Brocastle.
Dad was given a temporary place at Brocastle Manor Care Home after being transferred from the local hospital while we looked for a nursing home in the area. Once he had been there a couple of weeks, we stopped looking. The home itself is in lovely surroundings - the gardens, residents' rooms and communal areas are very clean and well-maintained. But what really impressed us was the team at Brocastle. The staff are simply wonderful and so patient and kind - from the lovely ladies on reception, the healthcare assistants, the nurses, the cleaners and laundry staff - Dad got to know them all. Dad had a keen sense of humour and really enjoyed having a chat and a joke - he regarded them as friends. As Dad grew increasingly frail, the home adapted to his needs and did everything to make him comfortable. We cannot thank them enough for the care they gave Dad, especially in the last few weeks. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Brocaste.
My wife has been a resident for over 4 years and in all that time she has had excellent care from all the staff. The room she is in is small (to be expected) but adequate for her needs.
Brocastle Manor Care Home has been a wonderful, welcoming home for my aunt in the last year of her life. The setting is lovely, with large and peaceful grounds, comfortable living areas, and good food that is readily available. The staff are excellent - helpful, kind, and patient, and clearly value their residents highly. Before coming here, my aunt had been living alone, and her physical and mental health had deteriorated hugely. Brocastle really did give her a new lease on life, with the difference noticeable almost immediately, and gave me real peace of mind that she was safe, well-cared-for, and most importantly happy during her last months. After her final stroke, the staff were ready to welcome her back to provide her end-of-life care, and when it became clear that this wasn't possible, they made it easy for us to close out her room. They even took the time to offer their condolences and stories of happy memories of her, which was truly appreciated at such a sad time.
Brocastle Manor Care Home is in a peaceful setting with relaxing surroundings. The home is purposeful so most rooms are similar size and all ensuite. There are two lounges on the ground floor, and all the residents are able to spend the majority of their time in them eating, socialising and enjoying activities. The staff are generally very good and there is plenty of activities for residents. The food seems good.
Brocastle Manor Care home were excellent with Dad. The team and particularly all the staff on Walnut Drive provided Dad with the specialist care he needed and treated him with dignity and respect. Dad was only at Brocastle for one month - the staff made us feel so welcome and couldn't do enough. We highly recommend Brocastle to any other family making the difficult care decisions for their loved ones.
Firstly I just like to thank all the staff for the wonderful care they provide to my mum. I also like to thank one staff member as without her I wouldn't be able to have the video calls which I have a few times a week due to living abroad. I cannot thank you enough or say how much I appreciate this. Finally to all the staff I would just like on behalf of all the family to thank you for the care you provide to our mum and grandmother.
100% happy with Brocastle Manor Care Home. The staff upstairs are wonderful taking really good care of our son with multiple sclerosis. We know what ever decision they make regarding his health is 100% fine with us. They are fantastic with him.
Thank you for your welcome and considerate care for my sister when we visited today. It is good to see her so well cared for. The home and staff are exemplary in the way they show patience, kindness and understanding in their dealings with the patients.
Both my parents with dementia have been at Brocastle Manor Care Home for the past 14 months. Sadly, my father passed away last week. My sister and I are so grateful for the care both parents have received whilst at Brocastle. The staff are simply wonderful. Each and every member of staff have treated my parents with kindness, respect and professionalism. Even when my parents have been at their most challenging, they have been thoughtful, patient and helpful. Each time one of them have needed medication, the staff have been extremely prompt in making sure they have received treatment from the GP and the appropriate medical support. Nothing has been too much trouble for the staff and it has been clear how well they have got to know my parents. The needs of each individual resident are catered for and the rooms are always spotless. They celebrate every occasion and there is always an enrichment activity of some sort going on. The staff are the home's biggest asset. They are remarkable.
I am very happy for my husband to be at Brocastle. Most of the staff (carers), are very helpful. I find one member of staff in particular helpful at most times. I do think we should have a newsletter most months.
My dad is well cared for and the carers are very patient and understanding with him( He can be a bit stroppy at times). My dad is a proper gentleman normally and the carers appreciate that. He is treated with kindness and respect.
My wife has been at this care home for 3.5 years. She has mixed dementia. The service she has received, has been first class. The staff can't be praised enough for their patience and care.
My overall experience has been good. The staff have been very accommodating.
I would recommend Brocastle to anyone. They are like a second family to my mum and look after her like she is their relative. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The home is always clean and tidy. Mum's room and bedding are always clean, her clothes are clean and she is always comfortable. They involve her in activities and do her hair and nails and she is always happy. The home is in a beautiful and quiet area, with beautiful gardens. I can't thank the home enough for all they do.
Mum was at Brocastle for the last 3 months of her life. We had cared for her with the support of initially daily carers, and then live in carers but sadly due to her increasing needs and lack of ability to source more care ( pandemic related), we very reluctantly had no choice but to opt for a nursing home. We had very high expectations for her care and so did this most reluctantly. As soon as Mum went in we could see that it was the best option and all her needs were completely met. Due to covid, visiting changed in nature but the staff enabled us to have as much time with Mum as possible. I live many hours away and if I wasn’t able to physically visit face time calls were arranged as often as I needed. Her room was a good size with a spacious ensuite overlooking lovely countryside, and always spotlessly clean. The staff were cheerful but gentle and kind. The little things, like finding her favourite youtube channel, made such a difference. Thank you all so very much.
