View Full Details of Ty Eirin Care HomeFloor and bed table not always clean. Often no tissues left out for use, I guess cost saving. On cold days often have to request extra blanket from staff. Weekends- drink and meals not always served at the same time, I guess down to staffing. Otherwise staff are very friendly and helpful. Dentist suggested that staff help out with dental care, this seems to have fallen by the wayside.
First time visit on Wednesday, staff were friendly and helpful, home was spotlessly clean, while we were there the fire alarms went off, the staff were very professional, they kept calm and reassured the residents, the staff took their assigned places. All in all excellent.
The level of care and attention staff provide to residents is clearly high. The units I've seen are in good condition, well kept and adequately staffed. On a regular basis, there are activities to engage residents and get out of their rooms, which I know my relative gets benefit from. I'm also glad of the events like the summer fayre that bring relatives into Ty Eirin - they seem like something different and a nice opportunity for the community around the care home to come together.
We, as a family, were really concerned making the decision to move Dad from care at home to residential care but knew it was the right decision. We should not have had any concern, the management, the carers, the cleaners, the catering and maintenance with Ty Eirin Care Home are all so hardworking, with the residents at the heart of what they do. Dad's transition was as smooth as can be but the continued interaction with Dad and us, as a family, for care and support with buckets of empathy is outstanding. Thank you for all you do.
I immediately liked this home from the first visit, staff are amazing and so much support to me as well as my mother. I can't thank them enough for just being there when needed, let alone the effort they put into helping to get my mother into the home. The home smells lovely whenever we visit, it doesn't have that typical nursing home smell. It's comfortable, relaxing and clean. Would highly recommend it to anyone. To make a decision to place a loved one in a nursing/residential home is one of the hardest things you will ever have to do, but the staff make the journey a lot easier. So thank you.
Mum suffered an Ischaemic Stroke and was rendered paralysed from the neck down. Ty Eirin staff put her in a room next to the nurse station because she could not call out or ring a bell for attention if she needed it. We were told at the stroke unit that Mam would probably not last a week, but here she is, six years later, being pampered by the incredibly kind staff at Ty Eirin. I believe she would not still be with us if her care had not been so good. She came to love the staff and all the workers. She can now move her left hand from the wrist though she is still paralysed, deformed with awful arthritis and bed-bound. Cannot communicate by speaking but the staff have learned to understand what she wants. I had no idea that there were nursing homes as clean and ergonomically run, as Ty Eirin is. Even the gardens are lovely in the summer. This is my thanks to all involved, from the main office manager to the laundry staff that clean her clothes. I am truly grateful.
My Dad is in Ty Eirin in Thomastown Tonyrefail, Harbour Health Care He has been there two years, we are very pleased with his care we have no complaints the staff are very good. My dad is well looked after, he eats well.
My grandfather came to Ty Eirin at the end of July and he's settled really well on Seaview. Staff are all friendly and make sure all his needs are met on a daily basis while treating him with care and dignity, he has up and down days but staff are always there to comfort and reassure him and let him know they are always there when he needs them. They like to encourage him to get involved in different activities with the activity team, my grandfather has made many friends on Seaview with the residents and staff and always loves to have a chat and joke with them. Me and my family are really happy with care he receives and seeing how happy and settled he has become. We are kept informed with any health related problems and any updates. We love to see photos of him on the Ty Eirin page when they have artists in their day center and taking part in all different activities and having day out trips.
My daughter got married on September 16th and I want to let you know, how amazing the staff were. They helped to dress her, do her hair and makeup, they helped her so much. She looked amazing. We as a family can't thank them enough. She had an amazing time, which wouldn't have been possible without all their help. The staff are always so good with mum. They have a joke and a laugh with her and treat her with so much dignity and care. I always leave knowing Mum is in safe hands.
I would like to thank all the staff and carers for taking care of Mam while she was at Ty Eirin. Sadly, she passed away at the home on the 9th of June 2024, after a battle with dementia. I have to say that the palliative and then the end-of-life care was particularly excellent. The advice and support during a very difficult time was wonderful. Thank you so much. I have previously made a statement about the situation with the phones at the home, there is an issue that when you phone you are passed back and forth between different floors and you are not able to get to the extension you need. This happens mostly at night, but does happen during the day as well. A direct number for each floor could rectify this problem maybe, just a suggestion. This problem hopefully will be solved for future residents and their families. Overall my rating of Ty Eirin is 5/5 and I would recommend the home to any future prospective resident. Thanks again for all you did for Mam.
Mam has been at the home for 10 months, it's been amazing from the start but in the last 3 months she has been her happiest, not sure why but it makes me so happy to see how she is. She thinks she works there, so she is happy to do daily chores of dishes, clearing tables etc. and helping all the residents and staff. Mam thinks shes in charge of the canteen, her old job, everyone goes with whatever ever job role she is in that day but all I really want is for someone to be kind and speak nicely to her which she gets every day and always looks well presented when I visit which is a lot. Her room is always spotless and has nice food and loves it when there is a singer or concert. I can't ask for more, thank you Ty Eirin.
My mam can be a difficult person as she has Alzheimer's but she knows all the carers and she is as happy as she can be. She is totally relieved about the carers they do a brilliant job of keeping her clean and dressed well.
My mother is at this care home. She is always happy when I visit and always well looked after. Staff interact with her all the time. She loves the activities and the food as she has put on weight, which is a good thing. I sleep at night knowing she is looked after and cared for. She never cries when I leave which is great as I know she feels safe and cared for.
I am so pleased with the care my dad is receiving on Rest Bay. He has been a resident there for almost a year, he has settled well and is thriving with symptoms of dementia improving with the right care for him.
Super happy with the care my nan is receiving. Staff are lovely and friendly and always happy to help. There are plenty of activities going on to keep nan occupied. They even have events where the family can attend such as afternoon teas and Christmas parties where we all had free wine and cheese! Lovely.
My mother-in-law has been in Rest Bay Ty Eirin for just over a year. She is well looked after, always clean and tidy whenever I call which is quite often. The staff here are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. The activities team make sure most people are catered for with different events/activities for the residents to enjoy/partake in. I recommend Ty Eirin Care Home to anyone considering coming into a care home.
The staff are very kind and my dad has received very good care whilst at the home. It is reassuring to think there is somebody always around to see to his needs. I think the decor could do with a refresh.
This is an excellent care home. The manager is always willing to discuss any queries and explain how the care home functions. She listens to any personal worries and tries her best to alleviate family tensions which we have experienced. Another staff member also keeps my mother updated on care and requirements both medical and emotional. All the other girls are always helpful with regard to financial and general needs. Sorry if I have not named all but to be honest we have no reason to complain about any of the staff's attitude or commitment to work.
My dad has been a resident at Ty Eirin Care Home since July 2023. He came there from another care home, he is very very well looked after, he is always clean and well-kept in his appearance and is treated with the highest respect and dignity too which he deserves, the staff treat me as if I was family always make me feel welcome, nothing is to much trouble for them. The home always smells very nice and is always clean. I cannot thank them enough for what they do for not just my dad but for us as a family.
My dad is receiving excellent care, the home is providing homely comforts and the support and time that my dad is receiving is so reassuring to us as a family. Every staff member is so kind and loving to not just Dad but all residents. The activities that are provided are lovely and keep him occupied on a daily basis. Our visiting times are really important as a family and feel that the staff are also so helpful and accommodating with any requests we have had.
