View Full Details of Mill View Care HomeDad has just spent 9 months in hospital which was not a good experience so was really happy to get him into somewhere before Christmas. I've not had any experience of care homes before so was a bit anxious about how it would be for Dad. I honestly cannot tell you how great this place is. They've done more for Dad in a few weeks than the hospital has in months. All the staff I've met have been great, so friendly and so willing to look after the residents. All the staff are just so friendly, and seem happy to be there. The whole atmosphere is just lovely. Anything you need to know the staff phone you which is great. Any questions you get answers to emails straight away. Absolutely brilliant place. Massive weight off my mind that Dad can spend his last years with such lovely, caring people.
Mam continues to receive great care from all the staff at Mill view. I live away and it is a comfort for me to know that Mam is in safe hands. When we visit, we are also made to feel welcome. Even the dogs, particularly the puppy. We feel that nothing is too much trouble and where necessary we are kept informed of any issues regarding Mam's health and wellbeing. Thank you for the care and compassion you show Mam and the family.
Dad was admitted to Mill View in June 2024, he had become very poorly and despite my best efforts, it was too much for him to stay at home for end-of-life care. It was an extremely difficult decision to make, however from the moment the nurse came to assess Dad at home (she was so very lovely) we knew from that we were in safe hands. Due to Dad's complex needs, we were fortunate that he was able to secure a place in Mill View within a week. From the moment that he was admitted the care was simply first class. Nothing was a problem and the staff went over and above to ensure that Dad and I were comfortable. The compassion, dignity, and love demonstrated by all at Mill View were from the heart they all deserve a six-star review - thank you all so very much for looking after Dad and me during his final 48 hours I will be forever grateful.
The service provided by the care home and staff is outstanding. It is so reassuring for us as a family to know that Mam is looking after with the same care, love and attention we would give to her ourselves.
Dad was admitted to Mill View Care Home July 2023 As a family this wasn't an easy decision it was hard to know if we were doing the right thing but as most of us lived away we had limited options to keep Dad safe. Our fears were eliminated immediately as Dad settled really well. The staff were amazing, going above and beyond to meet Dad's needs and keep us connected with him through video call. Sadly Dad's stay was short but we are extremely grateful to the staff for making Dad's final months comfortable and happy. Dad referred to the staff as 'Little Angels' and I couldn't agree more. They are a credit to your company and take great pride in their roles treating everyone with dignity and respect. Thank you Mill View Care Home staff for your dedication to the most vulnerable people in your care.
My mother has been in Mill View since last November, which was harder for me than her. She has settled really well and this is due to the hard work and dedication of the staff. Excellent care facility, all staff work hard and show compassion to residents and their families.
My mother was well cared for by all the staff who were excellent, no complaints from me, they were all so good and always kept me informed. Some of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to meet. I won't forget their kindness and their support through a tough time.
This is my mother's third year in Mill View and I just want to give credit to the hard-working staff. Managers, nurses, carers, kitchen staff, activities, cleaning, laundry etc. I am upset that I have had to put Mum in a care home, but the staff at Mill View are very welcoming and friendly, and this has made it so much easier for me. Although Mum has dementia, she speaks very highly of the staff, and I cannot thank them enough for their commitment and dedication.
My mother received excellent care in this home. Unfortunately, my mother passed away there, maintaining dignity and respect. My family also received the support we all needed. This is a happy home, I can honestly say that every member of staff I had the opportunity to meet, always put the resident's needs first and with a smile. I would not hesitate to recommend this home especially if you are apprehensive about your family’s needs being fully met. I felt welcomed and although my mother had a short time there, their help and understanding were amazing. I didn’t have to worry and if I did have any concerns, I was quickly reassured. The nursing staff were also on top of all her medical issues. The home is spotless. There were lots going on events and engagements. Food was great! Residents and family feel included. I was so pleased that at least my mother had a better chance of life and to meet new friends before she passed. I will miss Mill View and wish them every success in the future!
I can't express how grateful I and my family are to the staff of Mill View Care Home. They looked after both of my parents for the final year of their lives. My dad passed away in September 2022 and my mum in March 2023. The nursing and care staff could not do enough for us at those difficult times. The home was always spotless when we visited and the carers clearly knew my parents really well. I also noted that it was the same staff all the way through, there seems to be a relatively low staff turnover which added to the sense that Mum and Dad could feel secure and safe in the later stages of their dementia. I loved dad's favourite 'hang-out' - The Creaky Joint 'pub'. And there are lots of varied activities all week and the staff always try to involve even the less mobile residents whenever possible. Thank you all so very much.
Mum spent her last eight months at Mill View and she was so well cared for and loved every second there. The staff are helpful, caring and welcoming. mum could not have been cared for more. As a family, we will forever be grateful to the staff at Mill View for the above and beyond-care given.
The care my cousin has received during the month she has been in Mill View has been outstanding, her mental and physical health has improved beyond all measures.
Dad had a few tough years with COVID lockdowns and a lengthy hospital stay. I was concerned that more upheaval to what would be his 'forever home' would add yet more stress and confusion. Added to his underlying medical conditions, it would be a challenge for anywhere he may have settled down. Feedback from local professionals was very positive and I'm grateful I trusted those opinions. The staff were wonderful and provided great care and attention making each person feel valued and their views heard. I was originally concerned that Dad's room seemed quite a clinical space, but I needn't have worried as this just underlined the cleanliness within the room, very important as accidents occur and routine and unplanned cleaning was required, both of which I witnessed first hand. The room was large, there was plenty of storage and lots of scope to personalise the room, as Dad did. There were plenty of diverse activities with no pressure to participate and Dad loved his food too.
My mother is extremely well cared for at Mill View. The staff are attentive and encouraging, but not forceful. A lovely care home with plenty of activities and themed days - always fun. Her medical needs are adhered to, and meals are rated excellent, with a five-star rating for hygiene.
My mum and dad have been residents since early October 2021. It was in the COVID19 pandemic and my sister was not sure it was the right home for them. Sadly, we lost our dear dad last weekend. The staff were amazing, so kind and compassionate, their care ensured his passing was peaceful and dignified. My sister and I are now confident that Mum is in the right place. We wouldn't want her anywhere else. Thank you dear staff, you make such a difference!
My mother is approaching 99 years old, she doesn't always join in activities, but the staff tries so hard to encourage her to participate. The care are attention she receives from the staff is excellent and cannot be faulted.
My mother was at Mill View for nearly 2 years prior to her passing in Nov 2021. Firstly after choosing this home, I had numerous questions, thankfully the staff answered all of these to make me at ease. From the first day my mother arrived, they made her feel comfortable and I was able to decorate her room to make it feel more homely with her own possessions. Her dietary needs were met by the kitchen staff with my mother's likes and dislikes. I couldn't thank the Care Staff and nurses enough for their help, patience, and understanding toward my mother. And their friendly attitude towards me as a family member. My only derogatory comment would be towards the Manager of the home, as in the 2 yrs my mother was a resident, there was a turnover of 4 managers. This had an impact on every aspect of the home, staff, and residents. This I assume has now been rectified and long may it continue. The diligence of the staff is and has been at the forefront of this home.
My father received excellent care during his stay. I cannot fault anyone. I would recommend it to everyone. The girls were excellent! We are sorry to leave, but we have to move on. Once again, my thanks to everyone.
All staff extremely helpful and caring. Home very clean. Very pleased with all aspects of care.
Everyone is polite and caring every time I visit, which in turn gives me and my family peace of mind as we know our mam has the best quality of life with friendly caring staff.
