View Full Details of Quarry Hall Care HomeI find that the staff are very caring, professional and interact with the residents in making them feel it is their home.
I cannot speak highly enough about the care my husband received at Quarry Hall. He was bed-bound due to severe Alzheimers, was incontinent and needed to be fed. Nothing was too much for the lovely nurses and carers. They soon got used to my husband's little ways and treated him like a friend. The nurses had a very strict adherence to quality of care and noticed every small thing. The carers were also very good feeding back to the nurses. If we had any queries, they were acted upon and resolved immediately. We had tried other care homes for my husband but were bitterly disappointed. It was a completely different experience at Quarry Hall. My husband recently passed away. The staff handled this with professionalism and empathy for both my husband and my family. A particular member of staff goes above and beyond her role as clinical lead. I'm sure because of her example, her staff follow suit. I give this review not just as a family member but as a district nursing sister with 30 years of experience.
Fantastic place for my late mother-in-law, she so enjoyed the company of so many new friends both residents and staff. My sister is equally so. Well done to all. Their attitude of the staff is very much can do.
Dad has vascular dementia and recently we were advised (by social services) that he needed to move into a residential care home. Quarry Hall was recommended and close to home. We visited to see for ourselves. First impressions were good and we had no hesitation signing up. The manager and the team on the ground floor are attentive and clearly take pride in their work. They interact appropriately with the differing behaviours from their residents. Communication is good with regular updates. We know he's in safe hands so we can sleep at night without worrying. If you're looking for a care home and Quarry Hall is close, its worth a visit.
Visited my mother over a couple of days. She has been in the home for a few months so still settling in. She seems very happy and says the staff are lovely. They seem very nice whenever I visit. She's a little bored but her memory means that she forgets that she has had activities to do (they happen every weekday). She broke her hip last year (before moving in) and they've encouraged her to walk, which means her walking has improved a lot. There was an issue with another resident when Mum first moved in but was impressed with the good job the staff made of managing the situation. Once the weather improves I hope Mum gets regular opportunities for getting some fresh air.
My brother has good quality care both in physical and emotional terms. His needs are very well met. His health is monitored and GP accessed if necessary and his medication administrated appropriately. My brother has capacity so is able to give his views to staff about his care and is always listened to. This is important because of his ability to implement things in his life due to his failing health. Staff are respectful to him and to me and my family. Communication is excellent. Home is also very clean and the facilities very good, e.g. sessions for socialisation. Emotional support is excellent.
My brother-in-law moved into Quarry Hall Care Home in October 2023, and I can say, it is the best thing that has happened to him. His whole being has improved immensely. The carers/nursing/admin staff are so kind, caring and extremely helpful in the process of moving in; as you can imagine, it is a very stressful time for us all. Just a bit thank you to all the staff at this very caring and professional establishment.
The staff are amazing and everything is run at the home in a manner I wanted for my mother. We are extremely lucky to have found this care home.
Although my dad wasn't in the care home for long, the staff/management were excellent. They kept me informed of any concerns e.g. administering meds and his well-being. Overall, very happy with the experience/care/support they gave my dad whilst being under their care. Thank you so much.
Welcoming on arrival. Always pleasant surroundings. Decor beautiful (for time of year) but always bright and welcoming. Resident always smartly dressed and room spotless. Very enthusiastic with activities. Resident seems happy in her environment.
Dad had complex needs but the staff understood his distress and the reason why. They were friendly, spoke to us with good eye contact, genuine warmth and understanding. Even though they were busy the staff took the trouble to spend time to ask if I needed tea, sandwiches. They gave Dad regular care, checked him regularly, kept clothes changed, etc., spoke to him when they were going to do things, they were respectful and kind. Although his stay was short, he was well cared for, and that was much appreciated by his family. (Unable to properly assess Facilities and Food and Drink categories, so marked as 'Good').
My mum has settled into the home since July 2023. The staff are very approachable and friendly. They always give me updates. They put my mum at ease and see to her needs. I am happy with Mum's care knowing she is safe and comfortable in the home.
I would like to respond to my review I have my uncle as a resident there I am his niece I would like to say all complaints have been dealt with very quickly his room painted with new furniture he's happy there now settled the staff are great with him. Thank you for listening
The cleanliness is definitely not up to standard, it is very poor.
Mum has been a resident in Quarry Hall for 4 years. She has always been very well looked after. The nursing staff and general staff and carers are excellent, they are extremely caring and have looked after Mum with a kindness and professionalism that is second to none. This has made our family really happy that we chose Quarry Hall for Mum. Although Mum is now totally dependant on the care she receives she is happy and content.
My mum went into Quarry Hall Care Home in May and looked after fantastically. She has a lovely room with a separate toilet and basin, which is always spotlessly clean. The food is very varied and of good quality. As for the staff, what a wonderful set of people. They are all so attentive and kind to everyone, and that includes the families.
My mum had to be moved to Quarry Hall for dementia nursing care, and I can’t thank the staff enough for all they do for her. She has settled in very well and loves all the staff. She particularly enjoys taking part in the activities.
The staff are very helpful, pleased with the care for my sister.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Very pleased with the way they are looking after my dad.
My aunt has been in Quarry Hall for a few months. From the day the home administrator showed me around, I could tell she would fit in perfectly, and Quarry Hall was the best home - I wasn't wrong. My auntie seems as happy as she was at her own home. I have to say the activities lady is outstanding, she goes above and beyond, and the first few weeks, my auntie was very anxious, but she helped my auntie settle in and eased her anxiety. I recently visited the home, and I was informed that my auntie had been out for the day with the activity lady and her new colleague, who together, they seem amazing. My auntie is always out on day trips or doing activities, and as a family, this is nice to see as my auntie has always had issues with socialising. Big thumbs up, Quarry Hall.
