Love visiting my dear friend of over 70 years. Fabulous home, she is happy there.
The staff are fabulous. My husband has settled in so well with the help of the remarkable staff.
Shire Hall is warm, welcoming and friendly and the carers are kind. It is still early days but I believe my husband has now accepted that this is his home and he seems content living here. The garden in particular is delightful and I try and make sure we spend some time relaxing there, weather permitting! Thank you to all the staff of Shire Hall.
When her oldest friend heard that Mum had gone into a home, she said "god help the staff". It's a testament to them that her last 6 months were as unproblematic as they were. The entire ground floor crew, thank you. So many worked so hard to make her comfortable, but I must mention a few names. Often during a visit, Mum would ask me to guess who had popped into see her that day from the first floor? The answer was always the same, one particular member of staff! Another staff member, whose smile can light up even the dimmest of rooms. Her kindness was always appreciated, she gave dignity in the most undignified of circumstances & tempted her appetite with Blackcurrant Jam & Watermelon. And another member of staff, who Mum described as a natural gentleman, saying that if there were more people like him, the world would be a better place. And it would. And last. But by no means least, another particular staff member. Mum felt safe in your care & heard with her face cupped in your hands. She paid you the ultimate in compliments, that she was a hard worker. Thank you.
Dad arrived at the beginning of June from the moment he arrived all the staff from reception, housekeeping, laundry, carers and nurses have been very caring and attentive, always checking how he and we as a family are. We are very happy Dad is under the care of Shire Hall staff.
I am totally happy with the care my mother receives at Shire Hall. This is the second home she has lived in and the difference in her mood, general health etc. is stark. I no longer worry about whether she is being well taken care of. I must mention the amazing staff at Shire Hall who are caring, attentive and always concerned about the well-being of my mother and other patients. Thank you to a few members of staff in particular and everyone on the second floor who give their all to their important role. I wish I knew everyone's names. I am grateful to every one of them.
We are extremely happy with the care our mother is having, she is looked after exceptionally well, looks well cared for and happy. When unwell she is treated very quickly and we are kept up to date with everything going on.
My mother moved to Shire Hall in May 2024. She has settled in really well even in this short time. A whole family have found the care, activities and environment to be excellent. Every single member of staff have put Mum's and our needs at the forefront. Mum's well-being has been addressed with exceptional care. Thank you from all the family.
My mother moved to Shire Hall about a month ago and my sister and I have been so grateful for the care and professionalism shown by every member of staff and their intentional approach to helping her settle in. The facilities are lovely and I am really pleased that all the daily activities mean that my mother has so much more of a social life than she had when she was living alone in her flat. Things like having the staff willing to help my mother set up a weekly video call makes a huge difference for me being able to feel more connected with mum since I live overseas and during those calls mum often mentions how everyone is looking after her very well. My grateful thanks to you all.
My mother, who has mid-stage dementia, moved into Shire Hall Care Home on 21st March 2024. I felt fully supported as Mum planned and moved in, the manager of the home helping me to plan Mum's move to be the best experience for Mum and settling her in her new 'home from home'. The maintenance team helped to set up Mum's room, put up pictures, ensure TV working etc. The entire staff, across reception, lifestyle, medical and support staff, have been amazing, really caring, and supporting mum. Her social life has expanded - live singers, pamper sessions, cinema, etc, as well as always someone to chat with. Medically, Mum has improved support, with Covid vaccine given in-house, a standard GP review led to improved medication, health concerns meant GP review within a couple of hours and treatment. The home has a fantastic mobile app that lets me see Mum's activities and the observations of the team. All this provides me with significant peace of mind that Mum is living her best life.
I continue to find the care home, staff and facilities offered of a high standard. Care is provided as and when needed throughout each part of the day and night according to my mum's changing needs, taking account of her wishes, mood and health. Every effort is made to engage Mum with the varied activities on offer which help make her feel happy, valued and still able to enjoy life. The staff are without exception true 'carers'.
All staff are very friendly and kind to us, their experience and care is 100% and would recommend Hallmark Shire Hall.
From our experiences and observations relating to our Uncle's life at Shire Hall may I first begin by expressing our gratitude for the care provided by the home:- The quality of care and how well the staff attend to our Uncle's needs. He is always praising the staff, and we too appreciate the caring, fun, and thoughtful staff members who are always friendly and professional. Our Uncle comments frequently on the quality and variety of meals and how well he is looked after. We have noticed our Uncle has shown much improvement in his well-being since being at Shire Hall We would highly recommend the care home to others. Thank you.

Excellent! My friend is looked after with genuine care and respect.
My friend continues to be provided with exemplary care from all members of the care team despite her difficult circumstances. No corners are cut or possible improvements left unexplored and I can't think of one area that could be improved (except parking!).
My mum is very well cared for in Shire Hall. I am always happy that her every need is being met with care and kindness from the lovely staff members. I also always feel welcome and cared for myself when I visit her.
Lovely, friendly home, good, well-kept garden and any queries are quickly answered. Nursing staff keep a close eye on my brother and there is good GP access.
My brother is well cared for by the nurses and carers. The home is clean and well-maintained. We especially enjoy the coffee shop with it cakes! The garden is well laid out and stimulating.
