View Full Details of Ty Coch Nursing HomeI have my mother, her sister and her sisters husband all at this wonderful care home. The staff are so very caring. The entertainments and activities provided are absolutely brilliant and stimulating Taking residents out for the day really helps. The food is excellent with plenty of variety to suit their needs , and more. Their social media page keeps my family who live abroad and myself up-to-date with everything that's happening. When my time comes, I know where I'm going. I can't praise this home enough.
My mother has been at Ty Coach since December 2023. Very happy with the way she is looked after. All staff and carers are friendly and caring. Entertainment and crafts excellent although my mum can't always participate in them.
Care has improved a lot since the last inspection report. The staff now have had more training. The manager has left and a new manager is in place. She is much better at managing the home than the other one who never left her office or rarely left her office.
My brother has been at Ty Coch Nursing Home for the last year. His care has been good, they are always quick to spot any medical issues. He is kept clean and the staff try yo support his needs. The food and snacks provided look tasty and support is now given to him. Staff are friendly and always try to engage with my brother.
The care Mum receives from nurses and carers is good, the nurses caring for Mum at the moment are excellent. The new chef is fabulous and the food is prepared and cooked to a high standard. The first 4 weekly menus have been sent via email and returned. And inform me of any changes.
I am a friend of one of the residents whom I visit regularly. She finds the rapid turnover of staff in her part of the home irksome in the sense that she has to repeatedly describe her preferences to the new people whose induction into basic procedures does not seem thorough. Menus in advance and food choices are poorly organised. Quite often food is late or cups of tea are forgotten. My friend is articulate and can communicate on their shortfalls but many in the home could not.
My mum has been fortunate enough to have been accepted for regular respite care in Ty Coch Nursing Home. Each time I apply I keep my fingers crossed that her bid for respite will be accepted from themselves. Mum is very well cared for during these times of respite. I have had no concerns at all. The environment, staff and standard of care are exceptional. The staff are approachable and keen to help. The activity team are outstanding. There is always something planned to stimulate or entertain the residents. I am extremely happy with Ty Coch and their care of my mum.
Ty Coch has been kind in itself in helping my mum settle into this last stage of her life. It is warm and clean, and the staff are friendly. The main issue that stops it from getting my 5th star is that there is no WiFi for inmates. This is affecting my mum's well-being as she is a 21st-century Gran and relies on email, WhatsApp and the internet in general in order to stay connected with her friends and family all over the world. Please could you make it a priority to install fit-for-purpose WiFi for our family members? Thank you.
I am very happy with the care my husband is receiving. The staff are very caring and considerate and are always approachable. All my questions to the nursing staff are answered promptly and any requests have been dealt with to the highest standard. My husband is very happy at the home which, in turn, helps me deal with being apart and the challenges that come with the situation.
My mother has been a resident for 6 months and we have been very impressed with the care she has received. The staff are very kind and caring.
A massive Thank you to Ty Coch Nursing Home for giving my father a high standard of care. My father was placed in the nursing home for end-of-life care after being discharged from a hospice. Ty Coch provided my father with a supportive bed which made a huge difference in making him feel more comfortable. The food was made fresh and the staff went to great lengths to make sure it was the correct consistency for my father to be able to swallow. The home was very clean and tidy. Carers, catering staff, linen staff, reception team, management, everyone was so kind, caring and welcoming. In my father's final hours not only did they do a wonderful job caring for my father but the support and care they gave to the family will never be forgotten. We really appreciate your kindness. Thank you.
It was an upheaval for myself and my family to move Mum in, but the home staff have been so attentive and encouraging to Mum. We are, as a family, extremely grateful for the care provided.
A welcoming and friendly home with every courtesy extended to family and friends. The home is very clean and staff take pride in their work. The level of care is excellent.
My mum has been at Ty Coch Nursing Home for nearly two years. The home has recently had a makeover and looks fresh, bright and lovely. The staff in Ty Coch are amazing, always going the extra mile. There are always activities going on, my mum is encouraged to participate and thoroughly enjoys everything on offer. We feel very lucky that we chose Ty Coch for my mum. It's a lovely home, run well with very caring staff.
The staff are marvellous, the food is top-hole. The wifi is absolutely useless, a waste of money my buying steaming services because wifi cannot support them. Wheelchairs, large as they are, seem to vanish into thin air.
Dad has been warmly welcomed to his new home at Ty Coch and has been helped to settle in by the staff who have been amazing. The home itself is very clean and the staff are friendly, hard working and committed to ensuring that Dad’s needs are fully met in all aspects of his care. Also, it’s so pleasing to see Dad participating in the activities and enjoying the food! Overall as a family we are very pleased with the care Dad is receiving- thank you all.
My mother has lived at Ty Coch Nursing Home for three and a half years. The care she receives is exceptional. The staff are friendly, patient and conscientious as well as being extremely hard-working and accessible. Ty Coch has a good feel about it and the staff are cheerful and welcoming. The brilliant ideas and events for entertaining the residents are thoughtful and lovely. The food is fantastic. My mind has been at rest since my mother moved in - I would (and do) recommend Ty Coch to anyone.
My mum has been in Ty Coch Nursing Home since 1st May 2023, naturally, she was very unsettled by the upheaval of a move from one care home to another, she seems to have settled quite well within the first four weeks. I have found the administration staff very helpful and was pleased to meet some of the carers this week to talk over Mum's resettlement. All seems well so far, it is a little too early to give excellent ratings for services as we haven’t had the full experience as yet, the good rating does not reflect any problems.
Dad has settled into Ty Coch Nursing Home and has received excellent care since being there. The staff are friendly and helpful and encourage Dad to take part in various activities that take place. The food provided is very good. All in all, we are very pleased with the way Dad is being looked after.
Staff are always friendly and helpful. Food is excellent. Perfectly clean. Lovely garden. Great entertainment. I couldn't wish for a better home for my mother. She is content and well cared for.
