View Full Details of Bellavista Nursing Home BarryOverall, satisfactory with excellent rooms, activities, staff and safety. Fine-tuning my needs is an ongoing process.
My mother is being cared for and is getting the best care. The home is very nice, welcoming and staff are approachable. The place is clean and tidy and clients' rooms are functionable.
Bellavista Nursing Home Barry is looking after my husband. I am very happy with his care and the amount of time I am allowed to visit. They are all very friendly.
I believe the home provides everything to ensure my dad is taken care of. I like the fact that the home provides a choice of entertainment and one-to-one time to talk to Dad. The home has always kept me informed of any health issues and I find the staff to be friendly and supportive.
My husband has been at Bellavista Nursing Home Barry for nine months. My husband's bedroom has been decorated with painting and curtains to what he wanted. Staff are very friendly with my husband, activity girls go above and beyond to help my husband join in. Food is very good and presented with thought and care, as he always has eaten by the way food is put on his plate. I can't thank staff enough as most go above and beyond.
I have always found that all of the staff at Bellavista Nursing Home to be very efficient, courteous and professional when going above their jobs.
I have always been satisfied with the standards maintained at Bellavista Nursing Home Barry in relation to my mother. If I have had any concerns, these have been dealt with professionally and courteously. Although my mother is bedridden, I know from my frequent visits that every effort is made to keep my mother engaged in activities, both in the home and also outside trips where appropriate. Her condition is stable which I think is attributable to the level of care she receives.
Overall, a very good home, good staff, very helpful. Good standard of cleaning. Rooms are very tired, need to be refurbished, furniture is very shabby and quite dirty chairs but that's down to the management not the staff. Pillows and bedding need replacing and lots of his underwear and some clothes have disappeared. They should all be labelled.
Dad went into Bellavista in April this year directly from the hospital as, we hoped, a stepping stone to him coming home. Due to various health reasons, he declined and he died at the very start of July. During that period our interactions with the home and its staff were always of the highest standard. We could see with every visit that Dad was well-looked after, that he was kept comfortable, clean and tidy. They helped him maintain his dignity and good humour throughout his stay and when the time came the staff were gentle, kind and considerate of our feelings and Dad's suffering (which was made minimal by the excellent nursing care given). We really appreciate everything they did for him and would recommend this lovely nursing home to anyone.
My mum went into Bellavista as she had late-stage Alzheimer's. Mum was unsteady on her feet and liked to walk around as this was one of the symptoms of dementia - a lot! The carers kept an eye on this and rather than tell her off and take her back to her room they used to let her sit with them and chat. The carers were wonderful from the day we were shown around. They are all so friendly. Mum settled in really quickly. They always had activities taking place or entertainment (a singer who sang 40's songs, dancers from the local dance school to name a few). My dad was as welcome as my mum was and when he visited he was always fed which was good as we did worry he was eating ok without mum. He used to love the entertainment too. Bellavista certainly made the year my mum was in there better for my dad and gave us all happy memories at a very difficult time. One day I was even able to go with mum to the cinema which is something I never thought I would do again. They are all wonderful.
After a very difficult decision, my dad had to go into nursing care. I/we are so glad we chose Bellavista Barry out of three nursing homes. My dad was there for 17 months. He found it difficult to settle for a while but with the help and kindness shown to him, he began to relax and form relationships with most of the carers, activities ladies, nurses, housekeeper, cooks and management. My dad enjoyed a chat and company, so it was lovely when some could spend time with him talking, although if he could he’d have had them with him all the time. He loved the activities. Over the time my dad was there, he was treated with dignity, care, and compassion. We cannot thank you all enough. Some above and beyond their role. When my dad started to deteriorate everything was done to make him comfortable and for us to spend the last days and nights at his side. This was an extremely difficult time but the support you gave us was wonderful. Thank you from all of us.
My uncle resides in Bellavista and I must say he loves it there, the staff are really good and some even exceptional. l had the pleasure of attending the Bollywood evening and what a great evening, the dancing was lovely and a brilliant dance by 4 of the staff. My uncle really enjoyed himself dancing and singing. l would highly recommend this home.
Both my parents have be resident at the home. When my Mam passed away, the staff were brilliant both very supportive and helpful. My Dad is still at the home after nearly 3 years he is well cared for, always clean dressed and well fed, although his dementia is slowly worsening he is always content.
My uncle has been living at the Bellavista for 4yrs and feels it is his home, initially, it took some time for him to settle and for staff to get to him but they took the time to do this. He enjoys the banter with the staff and as a family, we appreciate the activities put on for residents on a regular basis. My uncle feels safe especially when his memory lapses and he is more confused than normal and this is comforting for the family knowing that he feels this way. The care he receives and the company he has on a daily basis shows every time we visit as he always looks well within himself and I am contacted if there is a concern for him. Overall my uncle is happy with the care he receives from staff and the home in general, as for me that says it all and that is what counts.
Very friendly staff, good access, good facilities, close to my home. They care about residents, always made to feel welcome, good variety of meals. My father visits daily and he’s very pleased with the care my mother is receiving.
I am satisfied with the care and treatment my brother is receiving. I have always found the staff and management to be helpful and efficient in what are challenging circumstances. Thank you for your services.
