View Full Details of Ael-y-Bryn Care HomeI cannot thank the staff at Ael-y-Bryn enough. My mum has recently had to move into residential care which hasn't been an easy decision. However the staff made the transition so smooth and as stress free as possible. The manager is so friendly and approachable and always willing to listen to any anxieties I had when mum moved to Ael-y-Bryn. The activities coordinator who organises the entertainment is absolutely amazing - she brightens up my mums day and I'm so grateful for everything she does. With regards to the carers - they go above and beyond! They know my mum so well and treat her with respect and maintain her dignity at all times! All so kind and approachable and I know my mum on times can be very demanding. They have so much patience and I'm so so appreciative of each and everyone of them. Thank you all!
My grandmother was in this care home for over a year, and it's by far the best care home. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming, always there checking in on us. The care they gave my grandmother was absolutely outstanding. I highly recommend this care home; you will not be disappointed. Thank you Ael-y-Bryn, for all your hard work.
Excellent services; highly recommend to any other families who are considering a home for their loved ones. Very friendly, the staff are all so lovely and make you feel so welcome, the care they provided for my nan was outstanding can't thank them all enough.
Outstanding services, highly recommended. The staff are all so friendly, and the lovely atmosphere looked after my mother very well. I would recommend this home to any other families; the staff and management always make you feel welcome.
A professional and happy environment creating a warm family atmosphere. Residents are treated with dignity. Good home cooking and positivity throughout.
My mother is very well looked after at Ael-y-Bryn. The team make a real effort to get to know each resident as an individual and treat them as such, remembering the small details such as how they like their cup of tea and where they like to sit. Any changes are noticed and acted on quickly so that the level of care is always exactly what the resident needs at that time. Mum's recent recovery from a serious illness must be due in part to the prompt actions of the care home team. For me, however, the biggest point of difference is the sense of family at Ael-y-Bryn, not just for Mum but for us, her true family as well. Mum is treated with real affection and warmth by the whole team and as her daughter, I am always made to feel welcome at the home and that I'm a part of her daily life and ongoing care. I'm kept up to date with Mum's wellbeing and immediately told of any health concerns and included in any decisions to do with her care. All in all, Mum is happy and content at Ael-y-Bryn.
Since my sister has been in the Ael-y-Bryn Care Home she has improved beyond my expectations. She has become more aware of everything more than I could have hoped. She's now more talkative and her health has improved beyond anything I could have wished for. The staff have been exemplary, caring and look after everyone there. Her birthday was celebrated 2 weeks ago and the staff even provided a birthday cake for her and had candles on it as well. I cannot find the words of how grateful I am for the care she is receiving. Thank you everyone.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming, they always have time to engage with my dad and whether it's a small conversation to a full-blown sit-down and chat - I know they are willing to spend that time genuinely listening to him and his tales. Living away from Swansea I feel comforted in the knowledge that my dad is safe in their hands. Also, they are quick to contact me should any issue arise with my dad. Thank you for all your hard work - you don't get enough credit in my eyes.
My aunt is receiving excellent care at Ael Y Bryn. The home provides a wide range of activities to keep the residents engaged. This includes singers, choirs and local primary schools visiting the home. As well as the in-house therapist who herself keeps the resides occupied. My aunt greatly enjoys all of these which keeps her mind active. She can be picky with her food but there is always a range of food for them to choose from. The staff are always quick to react to any medical matters that arise which did happen to my aunt in recent months. The issue was identified and was acted upon promptly to resolve the matter.
I am over the moon and back with the care my mum receives and as a family, have been happy for the 2 whole years she's been in Ael-y-Bryn. We are all cared for (our family included) by everyone. When we met originally with the management team who came to assess Mammy 2 years ago, we were told when you decided for her to come and live at Ael-y-Bryn, as well as Mammy, you will also be classed and welcomed as our family. They weren't wrong, on every visit (we go on a daily basis) we are treated with love and every member of staff is welcoming and interested in us as her daughters, We have an amazing relationship with every member of staff, they fill each day with happiness and love. We will forever be grateful and will love you and hold you in our hearts forever. Ael-y-Bryn!
I cannot express how highly I recommend Ael-y-Bryn, it really is a home-from-home for the residents, staff are amazing, friendly and professional. Nothing is too much trouble for management who are always happy to help in any way they can. The food is amazing with a wide choice of variety. There is always laughter, fun and games with activities and regular entertainment. Friends and family are made to feel so welcome.
Thank you so much to all the wonderful staff who cared for my parent's during their time at Ael-y-Bryn. Although Mam's stay was very brief I know she enjoyed every minute. The staff were brilliant with her. When the manager first assessed Dad to decide whether he would be suitable Dad liked him straight away. He enjoyed his chats until the decline in his health led to him needing nursing care. A massive thank you goes out to the manager and his team for allowing a husband and wife to spend what was to become their last time together. Precious memories.
My mother-in-law required 24 hour care nearly 2 years ago and I feel my wife made the right decision in choosing Ael-y-Bryn to provide this care. Her mind is at rest knowing she is so well cared for on a daily basis, we as a family rest easy knowing she is loved and cared for by all the staff, they truly are a good team.
Have a great relationship with all my mother-in-law's care providers. I tend to visit at all times of the day, and there is always a warm welcome. Ael-y-Bryn is always clean as is Mum's room. We viewed many homes before choosing Arl-y-Bryn. It's a small and homely home. All care providers know your name as you enter. And the residents have food most of the day. My mum enjoys the activities, especially the singing. There seems to be something going on daily. I'm not saying, I've never had a problem. What it was, was minor, and the Manager dealt with it. But like I say it was minor and had nothing to do with Mum's care. We are very happy with Ael-Y-Bryn, and would have no hesitation in recommending it, to anyone looking for a family-type home for relatives or friends.
My mother was in Ael-y-Bryn for nearly 6 years. She became one of the Ael-y-Bryn family, being loved by all and loving all. She enjoyed all the activities, made herself at home and felt safe. Sadly my mother recently passed away. The staff have been absolutely brilliant. Especially the care and compassion given throughout. I cannot thank the manager and his staff enough for the help they gave us at this sad and difficult time.
My mother-in-law was a resident for over 5 years, she thoroughly enjoyed her time there. She particularly enjoyed the activities and entertainment. The staff were absolutely brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately she recently passed away, and once again the care and compassion they showed was exemplary. I cannot thank the staff enough, for helping us through a difficult time.

Attentive staff. Very approachable manager. Our mum's needs are catered for. Staff go over and above. It's a family feel home, not clinical and stale. If we need to speak to staff, they listen. There are no concerns with our mum's care. I'd recommend this home. Small, friendly and welcoming.
My mother moved into Ael-y-Bryn in the summer of 2019 due to her dementia. Over the past 5 years she has received the best of care from dedicated and caring members of staff and has been treated with dignity and respect, giving me and close members of my family peace of mind. My mother has recently had to move to a nursing home as her dementia has deteriorated and I must say we shall miss Ael-y-Bryn, its homely atmosphere and its hard-working members of staff.
The care home seems nice, clean and the staff are friendly and professional. It also seems they do plenty of activities to get the residents involved.
