View Full Details of Barchester Awel-Y-Mor Care HomeLovely, well-kept home with a friendly feeling. The staff are excellent with residents, nothing is too much trouble, always see smiling faces, more like a youth club, with activities for able-bodied, arts and crafts, doing jigsaws, loads of things to keep the residents occupied and entertainment brought in from outside, singers and various other entertainment. Always a positive atmosphere in the home. I have never seen anyone unhappy. When my time comes and I, myself, need caring for, I hope it's in a home just like Barchester Awel-Y-Mor Care Home. Excellent all round care with outstanding staff, excellent.
Wow! What an amazing, homely atmosphere, very high standard of cleanliness, residents were all treated like family. Didn't feel like a care home, felt like a family home, just bigger. Would highly recommend to anyone who has to place family/friends in this setting, who has to make this decision. Staff treat residents with kindness, respect and dignity, very impressed.
My experience when visiting the home has always been a very positive one. The staff are always very friendly and sociable. I've always felt a good vibe from all members of staff. My father was the first person whom I visited at this home, and he sadly passed away there. I now visit a very good friend of mine there, and I can see how much he has improved since being there. The home is always immaculate and comfortable. My friend always tells me how he loves the food and is happy there.
I visit one of your residents most weeks and have always felt welcome and thoroughly enjoy the refreshments provided! I have experience of visiting other people in nursing and residential homes and without doubt, Barchester Awel-Y-Mor Care Home is, by far, the best. The indoor and outdoor facilities are most impressive with the gym and physio provisions are, in my opinion, beneficial to the health and well-being (both physical and mental) of residents. I'm also impressed by the variety of activities provided.
My mother has been in this care home since June 2021. The staff are very kind to her and treat her with respect and dignity. Due to the fact that my mother is almost bedbound and does not like being hoisted and put into a wheelchair as she finds the process painful. Consequently, she does not participate in the in-house activities. The room is light and well-furnished and generally kept clean. The quality of the food that my mother (vegetarian) eats in her room is, in my opinion, poor. Her daily menu consists of breakfast - tea and toast, lunch - a baked potato with a filling and supper - a sandwich. I did, on one occasion, take the baked potato lunch my mother had been served back to reception as it looked as if it was two days old. There is a distinct lack of variety in her diet and little or no fresh fruit.
A very friendly and well-run care centre. The activities are outstanding and communication is really good. My mum has been here for a long time and I don't hesitate to recommend Barchester Awel-Y-Mor Care Home to anyone who wants to be a resident.
My husband and I have been visiting a patient here for some weeks and she has been very happy and content here, there's so many activities to keep her occupied which helps so much.
Everything about Barchester Awel-Y-Mor Care Home is more than we expected. We look forward to our stay.
On arrival five weeks ago, the first thing I noticed was everyone seemed happy and welcome. It is relaxed and friendly.
My son has been a resident for the last eight months he has settled in well here. The staff are lovely, pleasant and very helpful. The home is lovely, lovely facilities, lots going on for the residents and they also get the families involved as well. I am more settled now my son is happier. Lovely place to come and visit, make you feel part of the family.
Friendly staff, helpful when asked. Fantastic environment with lots going on.
Very friendly and caring staff. Always welcome!
My uncle is a resident of the home and I can honestly say I cannot fault the care and love he receives. The home has a very relaxed atmosphere and the whole team make you feel like family. The recent refurb is beautiful and I couldn't ask for a better place.
An outstanding team (all staff) led by a very approachable and immensely supportive manager whose experience and ability to react instantly are impressive. The care afforded to my husband continues to excel and I only have to ask and I see a medic straight away. Clearly, communication is the key and teamwork. These are evident. I continue to be very pleased to have entrusted my husband to Awel-Y-Mor Care Home.
The staff are very good, easy to talk to and helpful. Nurses are always available to answer my questions. The admin staff are very good and management very helpful and considerate.
Staff are friendly and helpful, always having a professional attitude. Coffee morning cakes look stunning!
I have lived here for three years, and my wife has lived here for 17-years. We are very happy here. The staff are excellent, and myself and my wife are happy and comfortable. The gardens are beautiful, and I spend a lot of time in them.
The management of the home is reflected in the high standard of individual nursing care provided. The carers go the extra mile to ensure that patient's needs are met. Nurses and carers are supported by an effective physical therapy dept. The home is maintained to a very high standard, this enhances the patient's comfort. Many varied activities are offered in an inclusive manner to help stimulate and encourage patents. The dietary needs are met with flexibility and patience. The variety of foods offered provides for all tasks. This a happy ship.
Awel-Y-Mor is a place of love, care, rest and respect to all who reside here. As a member of a family who's husband is now a patient here words cannot express how grateful we are to all staff. It has become a family unit. Thank you. God bless you all.
Always satisfactory, care brilliant.
