My dad was in for a short time, but the care and support they gave him and all our family was amazing. The staff were so friendly and knew who we were and who was visiting, which might sound strange. But when dad had been in respite before, even after a week, no one knew us. April Court kept him clean and comfortable. I can't thank them enough. Anyone thinking of going to put parents or loved ones there, please do.
Only a short stay of one month but the staff were very friendly and helpful and did their best to care for my Aunt who could be very trying at times.
The staff are very attentive and welcoming. The home is clean. If anything more interaction from staff would be nice.
I visit my brother-in-law twice a week. The staff right through from cleaners to seniors are all very helpful and friendly. Always have time to answer any questions or queries I may have. All in all, I cannot praise the staff enough.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, everybody is cheerful, they are always to hand if you have any questions or help. The rooms are always clean, tidy and comfortable.
My blind friend stayed in April Court Care Home for 6 weeks receiving end-of-life care. The staff treated him in a kind and caring way ensuring he was nourished and clean. His guide dog was allowed to visit. The call button was always placed to hand but it was noticeable that the constant ringing of the button did not appear to be cancelled by a carer answering a call, this constant noise was a source of irritation to both my friend and visitors. Room cleaning could be improved by a daily mop of the floor with a clean mop! I am grateful that Aril Court staff were there to help, their cheerful disposition made up for sometimes the lack of English, especially noticed when imparting very sad news over the telephone.
My mother just became a resident in April Court Care Home and the staff have been very friendly and professional. Today they are having a summer festival for residents and family, which is a special occasion and full if memories.
Staff were very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble to address. Mum had a very comfortable stay.
What an amazing job the management and carers did to provide their residents and their families with a very enjoyable summer party. The singing was fabulous also. In the short time my mum has been in April Court she has really settled down which makes it much easier for the family. The carers are very friendly and make you feel welcome and the management team. If anyone were to ask me about a care home for a loved one I would definitely recommend April Court.
This has been my first experience in respite. It has been much better than I expected due to the lovely, kind and helpful staff. The staff are very good workers but need a lot more helpers, as the patients are very demanding. The room I had was quite nice but needs updating. Lovely garden area. On the whole a very interesting experience. There is definitely need for more staff day and night.
My brother was moved to April Court after a 6 month stay in hospital following a life-changing stroke. Due to the stroke, his needs are complex both physically and mentally, and the care and assistance he received from all the staff was exemplary. There were many challenges and the staff always met them with professionalism genuine respect and care. To say they went above and beyond doesn’t cover the true extent of how brilliant they’ve been. The manager was always happy to chat with me and the staff communicated openly and regularly. As I live some distance away knowing that my brother was being so well cared for gave me total peace of mind. Thank you again to all the staff at April Court.
Mum is happy at the home, sometimes she gets upset and then when she sees me she's ok. The staff are very patient with her as she asks to phone me a lot (she likes to hear my voice and know I'm still around). I can't fault staff with Mum at all. They keep her clean and well-fed. She does like to do activities to keep her stimulated.
My aunt and uncle were both residents in the home. Sadly my aunt passed away however my uncle is still here. I cannot praise the staff enough, always very welcoming and friendly to visitors and all have a good relationship with my uncle who seems very happy here.
My mother is a new resident here. I can't fault the care she is given. Brilliant food and entertainment.
Dad has been in April Court for almost a year and has really settled there. He is very well cared for and seems happy. His room is clean and homely. He enjoys the meals and appears to have gained weight. The main asset at April Court is the staff (care staff, domestics, kitchen, laundry staff). Dad absolutely loves them all. He has banter with them all as he has a wicked sense of humour. He constantly tells me how good they are to him. I am so glad we chose April Court!
My dad has been at April Court for over 10 years and is now his home. My dad gets on with all staff because they are always on hand for his needs. Not once needed to complain as my dad is well looked after, always noticed staff friendly/smiling to residents and visitors, I know my dad is in a safe place where he is cared for.
My dad was a resident at April Court. From day one we had many concerns they lacked knowledge of dementia and diabetes. We never felt he was in good hands like his previous nursing home. They missed his dinner on one occasion when I was present. He used to say he hadn't eaten, now I do question if what he was saying is true after seeing it for myself I wish I had taken his accusations more seriously. They kept his bed to the floor to prevent him from moving around freely which is against human rights. He had multiple water infections due to lack of fluids, even the hospital said we needed to remove him as it wasn't in his best interest being there. I would strongly suggest any family that has a resident in this home remove them immediately, they shouldn't be allowed to trade.
Wonderful staff, always friendly and willing to help. They are good fun and lift my mum's spirits daily. I have the confidence that Mum is safe and well cared for. Thank you to the whole team!
The atmosphere at April Court is very welcoming. The staff are all very friendly to myself and my mum. The public rooms are comfortable, warm, clean and well-decorated but the bedroom desperately needs new curtains and decorating. The care given is good but toileting Mam is sometimes an issue if she is unable to use steady. The food is excellent and drinks always available but Mam needs help to drink if I'm not visiting. There are always activities going on. A big asset is the lovely garden. Well done all and thanks for your care.
