View Full Details of The Old Vicarage Nursing HomeCaring friendly and helpful environment. Staff look after the residents very well and also their families too. Always willing to chat about any concerns I may have. Would happily recommend this home to others.
After reviewing several nursing homes in the Swansea area - my stepfather has been lucky enough to be placed in the Old Vicarage temporarily. He has immediately been made to feel at home and welcomed as an individual, with a personalised touch. As a family, we feel comfortable with his meds and pain relief (which are plentiful!), as the carers and nurses have shown attention to detail even in these early weeks. He states he is happy with the food and likes looking out at birds and trees within the well-maintained grounds. Overall the Vicarage has provided us as a family a relief and is a breath of fresh air compared to others.
My mother has been a resident for just over 6 months and is enjoying living at The Old Vicarage. The facilities are generally good but it would be nice to have a room or space to talk quietly with my mother. The biggest plus of life in the home is the staff who are unfailingly cheerful helpful and observant. Overall my impressions are that we are very lucky to have my mother being looked after so well.
My disabled brother has been a resident for over a year. He and I are very happy with the care he has received from the amazing team at The Old Vicarage. The nursing and care staff/catering/caretaking/admin, cleaning and laundry, all go out of their way to meet his needs and it is much appreciated by him and our family.
Always a warm welcome from the staff. Very friendly environment. Residents are well cared for by nursing staff and carers alike. The place is clean and well tended, with a variety of entertainments on offer.
My mother was bedridden for 9 months before admission. They had her up and dressed in one day. Improvement seen every visit.
My mother became a resident of the Old Vicarage in December 2021she was 93 and unable to care for herself, my brothers and I were afraid for her safety. The care and compassion my mother receives from every member of staff is unbelievable. They are extremely good at their job and are warm and caring. They all check on her when passing her door giving her a reassuring smile at her door when they pass as she is now bedridden and her door is kept open. I can’t tell you how lucky we were to find her a place when we did it, it means I can go home after visiting her and not have to worry as I know she will be safe, and well looked after. The staff do an outstanding job. Thank you to all the staff of The Old Vicarage Care Home from the whole family.
Perfect! Following Mum needing an emergency placement, we had to look for 24-hour care. The Old Vicarage Nursing Home was the first place we visited and the atmosphere, warmth and welcome were second to none, so we decided not to go elsewhere to look. Mum has been there three months now and our initial impression has not changed. Mum is safe, warm, clean and very well cared for and we are delighted.
My mother-in-law was a resident in this home from April to September this year. I cannot fault the home the staff are so friendly and caring. Cleanliness is a very high standard, activities are great, and she loved having her hair and nails done. The kindness and care at the end of life both to her and the family was exceptional.
Lovely care home with great staff and a good homely feel. The staff are always happy to go above and beyond to provide great care, would recommend it to anyone looking to use a care facility. The gardens and outdoor space are really quaint and lovely to enjoy in the summer. The rooms are spacious and the home is really clean at any time I have visited.
We were very fortunate that we chose Old Vicarage for my late mother-in-law's last weeks end of life care. We could not have asked for a more loving and caring environment to say our goodbyes after she'd had a prolonged stay in hospital. Every staff member was incredibly sensitive to both mine and my wife's needs as well as my mother-in law's. After such a dreadful two years of being separated from her, due to Covid restrictions, it was special to be able to be with her to say goodbye in such lovely and peaceful surroundings. The matron and care staff's genuine care and understanding made a very difficult few days a lot more bearable for which we will always be grateful.
My cousin was a resident at the home for 14 years until the 13th June. I have always been more than happy with the home but under the present owner who has invested a great deal of money, the home is truly excellent.
My aunt was only in the nursing home a short time but was well looked after. Management was always available, helpful and friendly. The matron is lovely as are the sisters. All of the nursing staff were caring, especially one who went above and beyond. The carers work very hard and nearly all of them are cheerful and caring. The laundry lady brightened our lives too.
Excellent care and facilities with friendly staff. I could not fault the staff in any way as all were cooperative, gentle and caring to the residents. The management was always available to us to help with guidance or queries about administrative matters. As an example of a care home, I would rate it as outstanding. The staff even came to my brother's funeral 28 miles away.
