View Full Details of Brynmawr Care VillageI am happy to say that my sister, although she has only been in Plasgeller for just over 2 weeks. She has settled in well and I believe she is happy. Had a lovely afternoon on Saturday as it was her 80th birthday as well as another resident. A lovely cake with candles was made for them and everyone sang happy birthday.
Our family is so happy with the care that my mother receives at Plasgeller. We always receive such a kind and personal welcome when we visit and the staff are very helpful and sympathetic in responding to any query. We feel reassured that my mother is so well looked after in such a safe and comfortable environment - thank you!
On the whole I find this care home to be very good, occasionally there are glitches but for the most part the care giving is excellent. Some staff are able to interact/show empathy better than others but that would be the same anywhere. Standard of cleanliness is good. The food is normally good and plentiful. The cooked dinners on Sunday's and Thursdays are excellent. The rooms are a good sized, kept clean and tidy on a daily basis.
It's such a relief to know that my husband is very well cared for. It's a luxury home, but still has a homely feel. I visit most days and it is spotlessly clean. All the staff are so warm, friendly, kind, compassionate, approachable and really good fun. I am always made to feel very welcome and everyone is supportive to me as well as my husband. The team are very efficient and I feel thankful that my husband is a resident in this amazingly run care home.
Overall I think the Brynmawr Care Village is doing a fantastic job. All areas from admin, carers, cleaners, maintenance, laundry and kitchen have been over and above to me. Always ready to listen and engage with me and are doing an amazing job caring for my husband.
The care and attention given were exceptional.
Furniture in lounges and bedrooms clean and bright and comfortable. Entertainment good. Cleanliness good. Services to hair and feed good. Would like more showers per week. Care - Good.
Mam settled into the home, when she first arrived on the 19th August 2024, having spent 8 weeks in hospital. She had previously been in a different residential home, which did not meet her needs. My family, my friends and myself cannot believe the difference in mam, she now has first class care and mental stimulation, which puts our minds at ease. She is well cared for by the staff and the activities manager, with the rest of the activity team providing meaningful support. I cannot praise the home enough.
My husband has been residing in Brynmawr Care Village since 2022 and I feel is well cared for. I love being part of Brynmawr family and always made to feel welcome when I visit everyday. The care for my husband is excellent and he is well cared for and he has lots of stimulation and activities and I enjoy being part of this to.
My friend is in Beacon Lodge and the care he receives is second to none. The staff are amazing, kind and caring and sensitive to his needs. He is stimulated and happy. He enjoys all the activities on offer and they are varied and interesting.
My husband was in Brynwood for two years and the care and staff were excellent. The home was very clean, bright and everyone was so caring.
I visit my relative six times a week. I feel sometimes they rush the food down and drink. When feeding, not giving enough time for food to go down and I feel it could lead to aspirating. On weekends, I feel a lack of activities, just sat watching TV.
Brynwood is an amazing facility with great staff who are always caring and willing to go the extra mile. The home is always really clean and tidy and they are always trying to find new things to keep the residents entertained. Couldn't wish for a better place.
Very caring and approachable staff. Spotless facilities. Lots of activities for residents and families welcome to attend.
Generally positive, some difficulties with communication regarding what is happening/changes in presentation or medical concerns. Lack of involvement in general care/decisions. Some issues around property (missing items). Some really lovely carers/nurses caring for Mam, but sometimes some do not even acknowledge us as family members. Mam does not seem to get much access to stimulation or activities specific to her needs.
My wife has been a patient here for some nine years but during the last eighteen/twenty weeks, she has had a problem where she is scratching continually and her skin gets very raw and inflamed. She has had various creams and medicines applied and seen by many different doctors but sadly to no avail. Would you please consult a dermatologist to get to the bottom of this problem because nothing seems to be working at the moment?
Staff are very friendly and caring. Mam has settled quite well and appears well cared for. Very early days - only been here a few weeks but good impression so far.
My review was very pleasant - all the questions I asked were answered. I was made very comfortable and put at ease. If I didn't understand, it was explained to me which was excellent. I didn't feel I couldn't ask anything and didn't feel on edge. So I'm very happy and understand and feel happy that my dad is enjoying his life at Plasgeller. Thank you very much.
My mother has been a resident for almost a year now. She is very settled and is as happy as someone with dementia can be. She has been well looked after and staff are fabulous, despite staffing problems which see them running around most of the time. My mother is kept very clean and her clothes are laundered and her hair done which she loves. We are very happy with all aspects of her care.
We are happy with the care our dad and husband is receiving at Plasgeller. Care staff are helpful and easy to approach and talk to regarding all aspects. Activity coordinators are friendly and has good interactions with the resident. He seems his 'normal' self when visiting and there's no show of decline of the resident's illness since arriving at Plas Gellar. Thank you.
