View Full Details of Ceris Newydd Nursing HomeCeris Newydd Care Home goes above and beyond by providing a safe and genuinely caring environment for my mum. All of the staff from admin, housekeeping, carers, nurses, and managers are super helpful, friendly and professional and I can't recommend them highly enough.
I was very impressed with the kindness the staff showed a resident, who was very agitated at the time, within 15 minutes of engaging with the situation, the resident was a different person - e.g a happy person.
Staff are very hard working and polite.
Very warm welcome whenever we visit especially from one member of staff in particular! My mother is very settled and very happy, and most importantly feels safe. All the staff are amazing, and as a family can't fault anything.
Mum became a resident of Ceris Newydd after suffering a stroke. During her first few months, she settled in, her health overall and post-stroke improved and she became happier in herself. The staff assisted in mum's progress post-stroke and were always on hand with help, a cheery word and care. Mum was never lonely, there was always someone popping in to say hello or offer coffee/tea. At the end of Mum's life, the care and dedication shown by Ceris staff couldn't be faulted. They were wonderful in giving mum a peaceful and dignified ending.
On the whole everything is satisfactory. The lady in reception is very welcoming and helpful. The nurse is very supportive and shows the residents great dignity. The same goes for the lady who helped weigh my mother and put her at ease. Also the staff show residents and understanding to all. Some others were brusque and seem to want to rush everything.
Friendly and welcoming, including reception and the cats! All staff are approachable and easy to talk with. Nice facilities and views from the lounge. Food choices and standards could be better on occasion.
I commend Fairways Treborth, Bangor for the well-being and care afforded my wife during two and a half years at Ceris Newydd Down, with appreciation to all the staff - from management, administration, nursing, carers, chefs, cleaning staff, and activities. I visit my wife three times every week and her care and special needs have been maintained. New renovation and improvement work is also appreciated.
I am not trying to say that Ceris Newydd is perfect, but my personal experience has been excellent. My husband, since the day of his admission has been treated with respect and kindness. He is severely autistic, so as you can imagine, looking after him is not always easy. He has been very well looked after. He has been showered and shaved regularly and despite the fact that he is doubly incontinent he is always well cleaned. The staff/patient/family relationships are very good, we are treated with respect and sympathy. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff.
It took quite a long time for my husband to settle into the home, Glyn Menai, in the beginning. I know that staff and carers found him quite challenging to look after. Also, he moved into the home at the beginning of lockdown which meant that I was not allowed to visit him for one year. By now he is much settled in Glyn Menai, which is so much appreciated. And it is only thanks to the dedication and patience of all at Glyn Menai. Thank you all.
My husband has dementia and is bedbound. The staff are very kind to him (and me) his comfort is their primary concern and they go to great lengths to ensure this. They are aware of his language preference (Welsh). They are watchful of his social meals (i.e to be with others) and partake when possible activities, when he becomes agitated they remove him.
I am satisfied with my husband's care. I am always made welcome when I visit.
Very happy with the care given at Ceris Newydd Nursing Home and, most importantly, Mum is happy. All the staff are brilliant.
My father received excellent care at Ceris Newydd Nursing Home. He was treated with kindness, dignity and respect. Visits from family were always welcomed and encouraged and we were always made to feel at ease when visiting. Dad passed away at the home and staff made every effort possible to ensure that his last days and hours were as comfortable and peaceful as possible. Thank you very much.
The staff are lovely, ready to talk to me and make me very comfortable when visiting, could not wish for better.
Have just been to a relatives meeting which was thoroughly informative and relevant to the current situation of the sale of the home. Met the director and was impressed by his intentions for the home some and residents. Very pleased that the manager has now returned. I am very happy with the care and wellbeing of my mother, which gives me ease in knowing she is safe and looked after. The staff as always are attentive and again will mentions the manager and a staff member.
My mother-in-law is always happy and not distressed now she is living at Ceris Newydd. The careful handling by staff has helped her to get used to being moved by hoist, so she is not upset. Her skin and medical conditions are well looked after by the carers and nurses. The staff are very welcoming to us and very helpful, especially being willing to transfer my mother-in-law to her wheelchair so we can take her out to a cafe. It would have been helpful to have an information pack when she first moved in - it has taken two years to find out things like mealtimes, who to ask about health etc.
Excellent staff support to my mother. Appreciate flexibility in meeting her needs. She's very happy and pleased that we chose Ceris Newydd. Great that relative meetings were re-established after Covid. Look forward to building renovations and digitisation of records.
When I have visited the home, my wife, who has late-stage dementia, has always been clean and well-dressed. Engaged regularly by the staff who genuinely care for the client; she is fed well, and her needs are quickly attended to. The ratio of carers to clients is much higher than most. Contact between the care home and myself is regular, and the new owners are experienced and keen to achieve a high standard of care. No negatives!
My mum has been a full time resident since September 2021, I visit Mum regularly and she is always well dressed, clean and happy and content. I cannot thank the staff enough for their genuine care for all the residents, the home is warm and inviting and mum always greets me with a lovely smile when I go to visit. The manager, is lovely and always happy to talk about all aspects of Mum's care and any concerns I have are addressed and dealt with swiftly. A big thank you to everyone.
