I am so grateful to the staff of Meddyg Care Dementia Homes - Porthmadog for my uncle. They have been amazing, they have also kept me up to date on his care with sometimes numerous calls a day. Due to the distance between the home and family members this has been a godsend. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The home is clean and very bright and has a very homely feel to it. Would highly recommend.
My mom moved into Meddyg Care a year ago, she had problems settling in, but the staff were great and helped her loads, now 12 months later she doing fabulous, she loves it there and all the staff. She is well looked after, they keep me updated on how she is and I couldn't have asked for a better care home, it took a lot of pressure off us as a family knowing she is happy. Thank you Meddyg Care.
Unfortunately, due to present restrictions, I have been unable to enter the main building so my observations are rather limited. I can say that whenever I visit my wife she is always happy, never complaining, looks well and smiling. As far as the staff and management are concerned I can only say they are always very helpful, pleasant and dedicated.
I have only briefly entered the home at Meddyg Care at Porthmadog, therefore my perspective view comes from a few garden visits to date and telephone exchanges. My overall impression is that the nursing staff are caring and hardworking, friendly, informative and go the extra mile to be helpful. I feel that my mother is safe and secure and the home offers much in the way of social and mental stimulation as well as flexible person centred care, also the family liaison aspect has been helpful and reassuring looking forward to less virtual and more face to face visits with my mother.
It was a difficult decision to decide that a nursing home was best. But we were always reassured by staff and it felt like he was treated with dignity and respect by all the staff that work there. I've only scored a good for the room because we have only seen pictures.
Unable to complete all options as 1st visit because of the lockdown and only limited access. That said my impression was very positive.
Some of the carers in this home has gone above and beyond for my grandad. One carer, in particular, came off a shift from work, went home, sorted out her children and then went back to the home (in her off time) to sit with my grandad for a special Zoom meeting. You have honestly exceeded the extent that most people would go to. Thank you so much.
Staff at Porthmadog Meddyg go above and beyond to create a normal atmosphere during a very unnormal time. They give exceptional care to all the residents whilst showing compassion and warmth. Even though we are not allowed to visit inside the home, they have gone to all extremes to make it possible for family members to keep in touch with their loved ones. Thank you everyone.
My father has been a resident at The Pines for almost 3 years and although his health has deteriorated over that time, he is 93, his care has never. In fact, as he has become more dependent on help his health and welfare has not suffered. It is a wonderful feeling knowing that my father is in good, safe and caring hands, especially during these sad times when visits are not possible. To all the staff at The Pines, thank you.
Just wanted to express how happy I am with the service of Meddyg Care. The care my grandfather received was excellent, and he felt at home here. I would like to thank all the care staff and management team for looking after my grandfather as well as they did at his time in Meddyg Care.
I really cannot stress enough how happy we were with our father’s care at Meddyg Care, Porthmadog. We had heard good things about the home and for the 18 months that he was a resident there until his passing earlier this month, our Father was one of the ”Meddyg Care” family. The staff were his friends, and treated him with dignity, even during his bad days. His illness made him non-compliant with things like getting up, eating, washing and getting dressed etc, but they always managed to motivate him to do these things and he was always clean and tidy. He felt at home there and he felt safe. As his dementia progressed, so did the care that he received and the home always “upped their game” to deal with any progression in his illness. Our father had a better quality of life at Meddyg Care than he had at home as they knew what his needs were. We will miss visiting the home and seeing all the lovely staff etc, thank you all.
What a lovely place, no smell only fresh, my dad became a resident yesterday and they fussed around him. He loved his beautiful room and the very helpful staff could not have done more to help settle him in. I am very pleased my dad will see out his final days in such a nice place with people that care, such a weight off my shoulders. Pity all homes are not like this. Well done to all, keep it up. Thank you
My husband was transferred to Madog Care Home following a 10 week hospital admission post hip fracture in September 2015. My husband has advanced cognitive impairment and the care home carried out a full assessment of his care needs, now he needed to be nursed in bed 24/7 and they took special care to help him assimilate into his new environment. I find the care provided to be consistent and well documented, I am able to easily review the previous few days when I visit. Staff are well motivated and cheerful and this leads to the positive atmosphere in the home. any queries I have regarding my husbands care are taken serious and responded to quickly. The quality of the food provided is excellent.
My late mother was in the Madog for 1 month for palliative care. She received very good care from all members of staff. I was quite lucky to be able to be in the care home with my mother most days. I did notice when I was in her room with her for several hours, staff didn't check on her as regularly as they said they should. I think this was through no fault of their own because they were very short staffed on occasions. I was warmly welcomed every time, as were my family, and I was offered meals on several occasions.
