View Full Details of Crosfield HouseSince my wife's serious accident, 2nd July 24, she has experienced four hospitals and three care homes. The staff and care at all units was good but having visited all seven I must say that this one has been outstanding in every section. The way that management and staff treat my wife and all the other patients has made me realise how lucky my wife has been to end up here to complete her recovery. I am sure that other visitors would second this, me having witnessed their similar reactions when ending their visit.
5 years ago my wife suffered a hypoxic brain injury, meaning she can't speak or use her hands properly. In February 2024, she was sent to hospital for a course of radiotherapy because she could only swallow food that was cut up in to small pieces. They fitted her with a rig feed after about two months, she was transferred to a different hospital and while she was there she was told she would be going in to a home. She was crying and screaming, as to her that was really bad news. She then went to a nursing home and it was the worse 5 weeks of her life. Then Crosfield House told her they can accommodate her. She was a bit apprehensive at first but a couple of days after being there, she settled in quickly. She soon made friends with other residents and carers and nurses. She absolutely loves it there and I'm sure everybody there loves her. So I would highly recommend Crosfield House to anyone. The staff are amazing as are the managers.
I thought that it was very thoughtful and therapeutic that she allowed me to have Christmas dinner with my mother, who has only recently become a resident at Crossfield House! It was a lovely few hours spent with my mother, even though due to her dementia, thought she was in a restaurant! A big shout out to the catering team! The staff on shift on Christmas Day were all fabulous and thanks to them all as being a retired nurse myself I know their work load can prove to be very challenging!! I would like to give a big thank you to two staff members in particular for the good, clear and concise dialogue I receive from them both regarding my mother's care and health. I am really happy with my mother's care at Crossfield House and I am grateful for all of you! You have a great team, you can be very proud!!
When dad 1st arrived at Crosfield House, it was such a concerning time for all of us, but we were welcomed by such lovely caring staff and now after 19 months dad is much more settled and the care is really good. Such a relief that we know dad is happy and safe.
My dad was treated with kindness, understanding and respect. Staff were experienced and considerate. I can't fault the care he got. The range of activities and facilities were excellent.
Have found the care, compassion to be excellent and of gold standard. Wish all care homes could be like this.
So glad we found a place at Crosfield House for my mum. The beautiful building always looks spotless, the staff are very friendly, and professional set up, and can see my mum is well cared for. My mum's only been here for a few weeks but it's made a big difference to her well-being.
I can't say anything bad about Crosfield, they have cared so well for my mum since she was admitted there over a year ago, they are understanding towards the needs of the family members as well which is so needed at times. I would recommend Crosfield House to any family who needs a nursing home it's an amazing place.
My father became a resident for about a couple of years until he peacefully passed away back in May of this year at Crosfield. The care he received was absolutely first-class, all of the staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for him. On our visits they made us feel so welcome and had time to have a little chat with us although they were extremely busy, I for one will be eternally grateful to them all, I thank each and every one of you.
I wanted to say that the carers are superb. Very kind and caring. Always very polite when I visit. My friend although quite unwell and very sleepy was being excellently cared for. The place is always very clean and fresh. Nothing is too much trouble. I spent 35 years in the NHS 15 of them on an EMI unit so I am very much aware of how difficult and demanding caring for residents can be.
My mother has been very well cared for since she has been in Crosfiled House.
I have absolutely no complaints. The staff are very nice and the premises excellent. I think that we made a very good choice when we booked my husband into Crosfield House.
My wife has been a resident of Crosfield House since September 2021. She is in the nursing wing as a result of being diagnosed with dementia nearly five years ago. From the start, the management have been excellent throughout and the care and kindness of all staff have been superb. We have been kept fully aware of all issues that occur from time to time. Which is of great comfort to all our family. Thanks.
Communication is always amazing, and the attention to detail when helping us plan family occasions has been above and beyond, no matter when I visit cleanliness is always at the highest standard. My nan is so happy here and speaks so fondly of everyone. Management and staff have been such a support to her and us as a family with anything we have needed. I feel my nan is safe, respected and taken care of with the highest standards. On occasions we have had food with Nan, the food and service have been of restaurant quality which we really enjoyed. Having a family member in a home is always so hard but with Crosfield House it really does feel like a home from home for us.
I have, to date, always found Crosfield House and its staff most supportive in a situation that is very difficult to deal with. My husband is well looked after on a daily basis and is as comfortable as he can possibly be. Both management and staff have always been most helpful with any concerns that may crop up.
I would like to congratulate Crosfield House on the efforts the management and staff have put in over the jubilee weekend they have gone above and beyond to make it as special as they could for both residents and their families, the afternoon tea we had there was lovely and being able to share that with my father was very special along with the photographs which we can share with the family who couldn’t attend, also the home allow us the make memories that will last a life time thank you. I would also like to say that my father was a broken man when he went into the home and in just 12 months they have worked wonders, he now communicates more and loves to see us coming where before he just sat there a shadow of his former self again I thank staff and management for their hard work.
My father moved into Crossfield House 12 months ago. As we were unable to view it before he arrived due to covid it was quite a worrying time! Thankfully the manager was able to put me at my ease by chatting to me and sending photographs of the home and his room. The staff have also sent photos to put my mind at rest. It was so difficult to envisage him in his room and other areas. Visiting was difficult at first, again due to covid. But I was able to visit most weeks either through glass or weather permitting in summer house! I can not praise the staff enough as when we visit he's always clean and tidy and seems happy. If I have a concern about anything the staff are always helpful. Also, I like the fact that I'm involved with his care not just his daughter. I'm kept up to date regularly about his meds etc. Over the past couple of weeks we've been able to celebrate his 93rd birthday and enjoyed a gorgeous jubilee afternoon tea, hopefully, the start of normality. Thank you all.
The staff at the home put on a lovely afternoon Jubilee tea. The displays and the food was excellent, my mother enjoyed it very much. The weather was good enough to sit outside. It is easy to see how my mother has settled in so well. The home is excellent and the staff cannot do enough for my mother. They are wonderful.
My husband has been a resident at Crosfield House, Rhayader since 2018. The care it provides has always been excellent, but through the Covid crisis, it has surpassed itself. Obviously not being able to visit for long periods has been distressing but staff have always been available on the telephone or by email to keep relatives updated and in touch. On one memorable occasion my husband (who has dementia), not understanding why I had not been to see him, said he wanted to speak to me. A carer contacted me and helped my husband to use the phone, even moving him to another room when reception faded. This was at a time when the staff were under great pressure. Just one instance of the caring nature of all the staff at this home. Obviously, the range of activities they previously provided has been curtailed but I know from recent visits that they have tried very hard to maintain the resident's interests.
Following a very challenging period with my Dad and managing his dementia, as a family we made the very difficult decision to place him into a care home. We chose Crosfield House as it was the closest for my Mum to visit and I have to say that I am so pleased we did. The staff (both office and care/nursing staff) are without exception the best there is, the care they provide is second to none and my Dad is absolutely thriving there. Due to the pandemic and all the restrictions in place, the staff became Dad's family while we were unable to visit often and I cannot thank them enough. Today to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee they organised an afternoon tea party for the residents and two members of their family. We were made extremely welcome and the residents are treated like royalty themselves, my Dad had such a lovely afternoon, it was reassuring to see him so happy and content. He has settled in so well, thanks to the love and care he is receiving from all the staff.
