Mum transitioned from a residential care to here a nursing home with ease. Communication prior to move was good, the activity staff collected and welcomed Mum into her new home. All staff at every level are helpful, kind and very approachable. The home is busy and staff have many challenges but they always carry out their roles respectfully and with kindness. The Mountains is clean and appears well equipped. Mums room is very nice and always well presented. Mum enjoys local trips out which has been made possibly by the fabulous Activity Team! My experience of The Mountains Care Home is very, very good. Mum is settled and happy here. Thank you all very much for all your hard work.
Mum is very happy in the mountains care home. The staff are very professional, courteous and caring, saving me a lot of worry and frequent phone calls. Communication is very good and the activities are excellent. I was emotionally exhausted and feeling terribly guilty at placing Mum into care but now when I visit it comes with the warmest welcome and I can enjoy quality time with Mum. It's a great comfort to see her, well cared for and happy. So thank you all for such a brilliant and vital service.
Excellent throughout.
So pleasing to read the most recent HIW report. Mum has been a resident for over 4 years. The manager has worked very hard to create a well-run care home. The staff works so well as a team and the activities team does so many interesting activities with the residents. Communication has improved and the clinical staff are understanding and very knowledgeable. Thank you.
Mum seems very happy here. The staff are terrific and offer a very personal as well as professional service. Over the past year there has been a really noticeable improvement overall. On every visit Mum looks nicely dressed and with her favourite accessories. It's really nice to see.
Excellent service and the activities are brilliant.
The care my dad has is exceptional, he seems happy and well-treated. The home is going through amazing changes e.g. it's all been decorated and new chairs etc. There are now regular meetings. They are now doing a new menu which sounds a lot better. I'm very happy with how my dad's being cared for.
I was invited to a meeting regarding my sister and was impressed by the standard of care. Staff are educated and trained to a high standard.
My sister spent a month in The Mountains in September while her home carer had surgery. We were a little apprehensive as she is still young, but she loved every minute. The staff were more than welcoming, making her feel 'normal' for the first time in a long time. She enjoyed the food but was a little limited in choice being vegetarian (hence the drop in one star). She was well cared for, enjoyed the social aspect and the special bonus was that she could take her little westie with her. She was so content that she has no qualms about going back if she needs to. Thank you all.
In my opinion, the most important qualities of a care home are trust and caring at a personal level. It is obvious to anyone visiting the Mountains, that all the staff not only care about residents but make every effort to make both the residents and visitors know that they care.
The management and staff very good.
The service provided in here is excellent. They look after my mum as if she was their own.
My mother has been a resident at The Mountains for just over 7-months. She has settled well. The staff are kind and caring. The activities team do their best to introduce a variety of activities for everyone. She enjoys the meals and also the occasional cakes for birthdays etc. The management and staff are accessible and responsive.
My mum has been here a short while, so far. She has settled well, considering everything she has been through before and in these unsettling times! So far, we have not been able to visit many times, and it is difficult to know exactly how everything is run. The staff have been excellent in trying to help us sort out and answer all of our questions.
My sister receives good care from all the staff, and the staff are always welcoming and friendly when we visit. It has been extremely difficult over the last few months to visit, so being able to Skype has been so good. We have nothing but admiration for the care and dedication shown by the staff.
The Mountains has become a very big part of my life over the last 4 years owing to my partner being a resident. I visit the home several times a week and have seen so much improvement in the last year. Management has improved, the staff are much happier which now reflects on the residents so making it a very happy home. The home is kept spotless, the food is very very good, the residents and myself are shown respect and treated with dignity at all times. I've missed them all so much over the lockdown as they go out of their way to make me very welcome. I have decided not to give an Excellent option as I always think there is room for improvement but possibly will in the next review. Thank you to all the staff so very much and hope to see you all very soon.
I can only praise the staff at The Mountains care home as they have been absolutely amazing with my grandfather. My grandfather is looking better than he has in a long while thanks to the care they are giving him. He's well looked after and kept occupied, even to having a beach party for the residents in their own grounds, my grandfather loved this! The staff have been fantastic at taking and making video calls through this difficult time ensuring we see our relatives as often as possible. I've been having video chats twice a week all the way through this lockdown period which has put me at so much ease knowing and seeing how well he is doing. They've also put some photographs on the private Facebook page for us to see which has been such a comfort. Thank you to you all at The Mountains, it's so appreciated.
Very welcomed by all staff. Always very helpful and understanding. The staff are always very caring and understanding the needs of the resident. The staff are understanding of my relative's humour and take part in friendly banter with him.
The staff are attentive and caring. Receptive, easy to approach and communicate with. They deal quickly and efficiently with residents. The home provides a comfortable, warm and safe environment. Regular entertainment provides stimulation.
Management has improved during the last few months and this appears to have rubbed off onto the other members of staff. They seem more cheerful now and new staff seem well suited. The number of trips out has increased recently and this is really beneficial for my mother.
