View Full Details of St Andrew's Nursing HomeI have nothing but praise for the staff of St Andrews, always busy but with smiles on their faces . When I visit and it makes no difference who answers the door you are always made welcome. The care of the patients is paramount and this team work together and take great care of the patients. None of us want to see our relatives ill but I take great comfort knowing my sister is receiving the best of care from this team.
Due to living quite far away I am unable to visit my mother as often as I would wish to. I generally do not tell the home in advance when I plan to visit. My mother always seems happy and content when I visit. She is encouraged to be as active as she enjoys being. She is always looking clean and well cared for. She had a problem a year ago with losing weight the home has actively worked to address this and she is now a healthy BMI. Staff friendly and approachable. Staff show patience and understanding of the needs of the residents.
My wife receives excellent care from all the staff at St Andrews Nursing Home - above and beyond what we could expect. The staff are always courteous and caring and treat all the residents with dignity and respect. I would highly recommend St Andrews Nursing Home to everyone and anyone.
Both my parents are in St Andrew's. Overall the care is good and the staff are kind to my parents. I think perhaps at times they are understaffed - takes a while for a bell to be answered. My main criticism would be the food. Whilst I understand the mass catering difficulties it's hard to hear my dad say his food is cold when it reaches him. It's also strange that a curry is on the menu for residents which is to me a strange meal to offer elderly people! I'd like my parents to have more fruit which helps their nutrition. I'm grateful for the kind members of staff who look after my parents but with a few changes it could make the whole experience better. Thank you
Find the staff very helpful and friendly always a smile on their face. Meals look lovely from what I have seen. Love that they make cakes for their birthdays. The place is always nicely decorated for the different celebrations throughout the year e.g. Halloween. Really love the lavender room, it gives you more privacy to chat without having to go into the bedroom. Overall a nice atmosphere when you go in. The only negative I have is that the building inside and out looks tired and could do with a bit of tender loving care. But this doesn't affect by any means the excellent care that is given.
