View Full Details of The Orchard Care HomeA wonderful caring home, the staff are incredible and they really listen to you. They all go above and beyond for Mum and myself. When you walk into the home it's clean and tidy and welcoming. The food is great with lots of good choices and the cleanliness of the home is second to none. There is always something going on entertainment, etc. All the staff are amazing and are very hard working, they care about every resident and treat them as if they are their own family. All the residents that you see are clean and tidy. Mum's room is very clean. My mum is treated like a person and she is always immaculate when I come in to see her. We are so very fortunate to have Mum living in the Orchard, she has come on so much since she moved into the Orchard and is content, me knowing how well cared for she eases my mind and makes me get on with my day as I trust them and I know she is in safe hands. I would recommend the Orchard without a doubt to anyone who is looking for a nursing home.
My mother has been cared for in The Orchard for 15 years. She is now 93 and has been cared for and supported to a very high standard. I have been consistently very impressed by the staff team.
The Orchard is a very well run care home where my dad received outstanding care from all the staff. He was given first class personal and emotional care and a lot of the staff went above and beyond. There is always something happening here and it has a friendly, happy, caring vibe which is apparent the minute you walk through the door. It is like a giant caring hug.
All care and attention was taken when Mum became ill and was taken into hospital. We thank all staff members for their care and attention at that time. As a family we valued the care that Mum was given in the three years she was in The Orchard Care Home. We thought more training could be given to the use of hearing aids and this was a small annoyance as they weren't always on when we visited.
Having had visited this home many years ago I was reluctant to consider it for my father-in-law. However, from the first visit, I knew that it was to be his home. Has everything been perfect? No. Have we had to ask for things to be done/changed? Yes, we have. But at every opportunity, staff have been open and responsive. My father-in-law who had dementia has been safe, content and happy. He was loved, truly loved, by those who cared for him. He was an easy person to love! Having just lost him, as a family, we have been astounded by the tender and thoughtful care extended to him and to us too. It's not the shiniest, the swankiest but it's warm, bright, happy and a little bit mad, like all the best homes. Thank you so much from us.
Reception areas are lovely and clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Activities are good, especially when there is music. Sometimes my mother looks quite dishevelled, hair all sticking up and clothes look as if they have been thrown on.
All care needs met. So far, expectations are continually met. All staff are approachable. Very clean environment. Everything regarding privacy and respect is what I like the most about The Orchard Care Home. The manager from the first contact was very caring and understanding. The admin are excellent and any queries are responded in a timely fashion. Would highly recommend to others.
I find the staff are really pleasant and helpful. The activities are great for myself and my husband.
On the whole, we are satisfied with mum's care and the Orchard Care Home in general. The staff and manager are approachable and helpful. The layout of the bedrooms lets the score down slightly as it would be better if mum had a view of the birds and trees but unfortunately, the positioning of the furniture etc doesn't allow for this. Food and drink we don't really know about as the meal plans aren't up to date and we have had a few issues with regards to her juice and tea.
The short time my bother has been here the staff have been excellent, very helpful and considerate, always willing to listen and help with any problems.
The Orchard Care Home looks after my mother with care and cannot do enough for her. She is content and happy and absolutely adores the staff and carers. My mum does not have dementia so she is aware of all that goes on around her. Myself and my family are more than satisfied with the level of care given to our mother, granny and grandmother. Everyone is lovely.
The review has detailed and in-depth questions. Questions and queries were well answered. An opportunity was given to express opinions and concerns if any which were well listened to and overall happy with the review.
My dad had a pleasant 10-day respite stay at the Orchard Care Home. During his time there, he was always treated with respect and dignity, and the management and the staff did everything they could to make his stay as comfortable as possible. He really enjoyed the food and the entertainment provided, and we were impressed by how knowledgeable the staff were about every aspect of his care. It was definitely a positive experience for both my dad the the family knowing that he had been given the best of care.
My Dad was admitted to The Orchard Care Home at the beginning of April. Dad has had a stroke and needed round the clock care. He has settled in great, he is happy and well cared for. I am happy that I can go see my Dad whenever I want and find him happy and content. The staff are great and are very friendly, so grateful to them all.
My father spent four and a half years at The Orchard Care Home. He lived with dementia. During his time at The Orchard the staff cared for him with kindness and respect. I found the staff highly skilled and knowledgeable and throughout my dads dementia journey the staff were not only there for him, they supported me and my family too. The staff were friendly and no matter how busy they were they always took time to chat and catch up with me during my visits. I always found the home clean and comfortable with lots of different entertainment and activities going on. My dad always enjoyed the musical entertainment. My dad enjoyed the food and being a tea jenny, he enjoyed the endless cups of tea! My dad sadly passed away recently and during his final days staff ensured he was kept comfortable and treated with dignity. My family and I were able to stay with him until the end and staff ensured we had food and drinks and that we were comfortable at his bedside. I can highly recommend The Orchard.
I am so pleased and grateful that my mum is living here at The Orchard. She was welcomed from the first day she was admitted and has blossomed under the excellent care she receives from all the staff. I have found that the staff treat Mum with dignity and respect and deliver person-centred care. She appears happy and relaxed when we visit and we as a family are always welcome. The Orchard Care Home is an excellent home and I would recommend it highly.
My mother has always had the best care and attention since becoming a resident in The Orchard Care Home. It's been nice to visit her and get to know the staff and management whom I've got to know over the years as personal friends.
Our friend spent three weeks at Orchard Care Home. He received good care and settled well, after his transition from hospital. The staff were very supportive and helpful. His laundry was tagged which we felt was a good facility. His medication was dealt with and he also received his flu and covid booster. In a short space of time, at Orchard, he was provided with an excellent standard of care.
My mum is happy and settled at the orchard. The staff always have time for Mum and myself and family, when we visit. She enjoys the chat with the staff. Plenty of activities on that Mum likes to take part in and she enjoys time in the lounges with other residents. The manager of The Orchard and the office staff are always available to help too.
Father's Day was celebrated at the home extremely well. There was entertainment and my dad received a card and gift from the staff. I appreciated this. The grass had been recently cut and the flower baskets on the approach to the home are looking nice.
