View Full Details of Thorntree MewsWarm and welcoming care home. All the staff go above and beyond. Treat the service users as individuals and not just a number. Can't put into words how amazing this facility is.
My dad is now a resident. He does not have dementia and totally understands and accepts the situation, something I never thought would happen in a million years. Due to the compassion and care of the team he is happy in his new home. My mum also is happier, she didn’t want this to happen but is no longer able to provide the care dad needs from home. This gives her peace of mind and we all have every confidence in his care programme. Thank You all xx
My mum is really settled and happy in Thorntree Mews. I had her review in February and was really pleased with the amount of detail and personal knowledge that was shown. Since Mum moved in, in July 2022 I have always found everyone welcoming and caring. I have observed many of the activities that are put on for the residents and am really happy with the standard of care.
I feel that the Thorntree Mews care home is an excellent care home. All the staff I have met come across as being passionate and caring in everything they do. They try to keep the residents as independent for as long as possible, knowing that this can cause extra work for the staff and management.
Absolutely first class! The way they looked after our friend, the way he fitted in, and just to watch how he has grown has been amazing! Great manager, great staff. Nothing too difficult! Always made to feel welcome on every visit! Our friend has enjoyed living at Thorntree Mews - never bored and so well looked after. He is in good hands and we don’t need to worry about him! Lots for him to do and always enjoys all the outings! Great communication too! So pleased we managed to get a place which he can call home! Keep up the good work! Thank you.
My wife, who has mobility and dementia issues, spent nearly five months in our local acute and community hospitals before becoming a resident in Thorntree Mews. Having over the years been a regular visitor to many of the local care homes, I was apprehensive about my wife of 63 years moving to a full-time care facility. I need not have worried. Since moving into Thorntree she has had the 24/7 loving care that she needs and deserves. I am fortunate that I live within a mile of the facility and am able to visit often. In my experience of some care homes, I found that visitors were not always welcomed, not so at Thorntree. The staff are always ready to keep me up to date with my wife's condition and positively encourage my involvement with aspects of her care. I am full of admiration for all levels of staff and for the cheerful, professional way that they go about their business. I am now 87 years old and should I need full-time care I would be more than happy to join the Thorntree community.
Mum was assessed at her own home and welcomed into the care home. All her medical and personal needs are taken care of. If and when there is a problem, which there has not been, it is dealt with promptly. Mum has settled quickly and staff do spend time with her, which she enjoys and this puts to bed any little worry that she has. When visiting the home and Mum, both are clean and free from smells. Mum is happy and safe and this has helped the family accept the next stage.
Mum has been a resident of Thorntree Mews for almost 2 years now. Staff have always been kind and helpful. These have been the most challenging times for care homes and Thorntree Mews has managed the situation extremely well. As a relative, we are kept well informed of requirements and appointments to see our Mum are well organised from reception and booking an appointment to the actual visit. Many thanks to all the hard-working staff at Thorntree Mews for taking such good care of our Mum.
The staff and the overall care is absolutely fantastic. I know my mum is in the very best of hands and have no worries or concerns about her care. Fantastic place. It is also good to know that they have not had a COVID outbreak at all, during this whole pandemic.
My dad has been a resident in Thorntree Mews for ten years now and during that time, he has always been treated with care, compassion, dignity, understanding and patience. The staff are always smiling and upbeat, even during the most challenging of times with regard to Covid etc. We are always kept up to date with any medical problems he may have and knowing that my Dad is very well looked after and in a safe environment, is very reassuring to us. We would happily recommend Thorntree Mews to others.
Excellent care provided for my dad that is consistently high, throughout the pandemic against huge challenges for the care home staff. I couldn't survive without the support of everyone that works there, even during a particularly worrying time.
I just want to say how grateful I am to the management and staff at Thorntree Mews for the exceptional care they have provided to my mum over the past 3 years. My mum’s dementia has advanced considerably and she now needs round the clock care which the home provides very efficiently, with great care and dignity towards my mum. This is a huge relief as I know she is being well looked after. My mum can often be quite anxious about things but the staff are very reassuring towards her and make her as comfortable as they can. The home is a beautiful building and all rooms and the outside are kept immaculate. Communication with relatives is also very good.
My aunt has been in this care home for 4.5 years. I find the staff very friendly and approachable. I am always kept informed of any changes in my aunt's health. They have been excellent throughout the pandemic and I am happy knowing that my aunt is being well cared for.
Dad has been a resident for over two years now. The care and treatment he receives is exceptional. The staff are so nice and go out of their way to ensure his needs are met and we appreciate this is not always easy. We were never concerned about Dad during the height of the pandemic as we knew everything was being done to keep all the residents safe. I always recommend this care facility to people going through a similar situation and having experienced other care facilities in the area, Thorntree Mews is by far the best for my dad and for our family and I cannot rate it highly enough. Thanks to all.
Fantastic attentive, caring staff, safe and very well run. Duty of care to residents is the top priority, especially during covid. Activity at the moment is knitting worry worms for local school children, great to see the residents and staff enjoying their act of kindness!
The care and support that Dad receives has been second to none and the support for Mum and the reassurance she gains from knowing Dad is well looked after, is invaluable. When Dad was poorly recently, the nursing staff and care staff ensured that all his needs were met and that he received the best possible care to ensure his recovery.
My mum has been in Thorntree Mews for 4 years and I could not wish for a better place for her. She is treated so well and all the staff are so good with her and always make me feel welcome when I come in. Even when I make a phone call, it's never a problem for them to speak to me. The home is so welcoming and decorated beautifully and is always smelling nice.
My mum has been in this care home for about 1.5 years now and all staff and management are excellent - no complaints and they keep us updated with any news, even medical side, regarding Mum. We made the right decision moving my mum into this well-reguarded care home - excellent.
In the 2 years my dad has been a resident in this care home, he has thrived. The care and attention he receives is second to none. Always a nice smiling face greets you when booking in. Their policies are on the ball, especially when covid 19 started as they shut down the home straight away. Dad has put on weight with all the great food (not bad for a 92-year-old). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to everyone.
My mother-in-law has been in Thorntree Mews Care Home for the last two years and during that time, has received the utmost care, dedication and attention from the staff as a whole. This has been more apparant during the lockdown period and especially recently, with the objective of the staff, the well being of the patients, being paramount. I find all staff are dedicated to this aim and continually strive to ensure their patients are guarded as much as possible in the present climate. She is now over 100 years of age and although not being physically able regarding movement, from her shoulders up she is extremely alert to what is going on around her. The mere fact that she is extremely well looked after, enjoys the good food, has daily interactions with the cheery staff together with the homely, togetherness feeling gives her a 'good feel' factor and she is constantly praising the staff regarding their actions when I visit her. Keep up the good work and thank you.
