View Full Details of Wheatlands Care HomeIt's fair to say reviewing a home is not easy, even unfair while a care crisis continues, fund shortages, increased costs, exasperated by carer shortages, no matter how good, it's not home. People enter care for all reasons, fundamentally it's because they can't be cared for at home. Our sister for respite. Our reaction re. care reports was "no" but it was recommended we should give them a chance. They were honest re. past issues, progress being made, no glossing over historic issues. We are happy to say our sister was well looked after, comfortable and respected, Staff friendly with queries dealt with. Sadly it was not the long-term place for her, but we had complete peace of mind while a home was found. One niggle, most residents choose to remain in their rooms, our sister too, meaning call buttons seemed to go off regularly which must be wearing for staff and residents. Do not be afraid to give them a chance as they continue on an upwards trajectory of being a very good care home!
I was unsure when I first came to the care home but the staff and surroundings have reassured me and my family members.
My mother entered Balhousie Wheatlands' home in February 2018. My mother passed past away this past week five years later. I wish to commend the staff for their care and support throughout the time, particularly in her final days they made a very difficult time for myself and my family bearable. I can honestly say that being in their care added years to my mother's life. The kindness, help and support were wonderful. A special thanks to the Administrator of the care home.
I am very happy with the care my mother receives at Balhousie Wheatlands. She settled in well and enjoys the meals and takes part in many of the activities on offer. She appreciates the fact that she can see countryside views from the conservatory and can watch the comings and goings of the staff and visitors. Her overall well-being has improved since becoming a resident at Wheatlands.
I am happy with the care my parent has been given over the time spent as a resident at Balhousie Wheatlands. The staff are helpful and understanding. My mother appreciates the wide range of social activities and the benefits and stimulation these provide is evident. She also looks forward to and enjoys all her meals.
My mum was in Wheatlands for three months. The staff were very welcoming to Mum and all the family. The care was good. My only concern would be that there needs to be more staff to meet patients' needs.
I have been a regular visitor to Balhousie Wheatlands for over three years and continue to be highly satisfied with the excellent standard of care and attention given to residents. The devotion and professionalism of all staff are plain to see, and despite the many challenges faced during the pandemic, resident safety and comfort were well cared for. I recently attended one of the regular relative's meetings and was impressed by the very positive and enthusiastic effort of management and senior staff to further improve resident experiences with resident-centred initiatives. Staff training is also high on the priority list.
My mum is cared for here with great dignity and my family are so reassured that mum is well looked after, considering her needs are complex, the staff have fantastic experience and training and very helpful. Families visiting their loved ones notice the exemplary work the staff do, they are a great team operating coherently on every level. They help accommodate the needs warmly and can adapt swiftly to any situation. The staff are a credit to you from top management to the outstanding care staff. Thanks.
My Mum has been a resident at Wheatlands in Bonnybridge for over four years. She deteriorated quite quickly with dementia and was placed in Wheatlands. The care and support given by the staff are fantastic, mum went from being scared, worried, confused and anxious to happy and content within the first month. Her dementia is severe, she doesn’t recognise anyone anymore and can’t talk. The staff treat her with kindness, her face lights up with big smiles when she sees them and they treat her like family. I have no hesitation in recommending the home to other families who are worried about placing a loved one in care, a traumatic decision at the best of times! I honestly believe that the only reason Mum is still with us is due to the staff at the home, the love and affection shown for the residents make all the difference as they are part of her family as far as she is concerned.
I am delighted with the care my mother receives in Wheatlands Care Home. She is so well looked after and family and friends strongly agree with how well and happy she is. Staff are so hardworking and dedicated and always so polite and helpful. The atmosphere is happy and my mother tells me the food is good and varied. Great laundry service too and the ladies are all well turned out and cared for. Would highly recommend it to everyone.
Balhousie Wheatlands have done a tremendous amount of work in keeping the virus risk minimised. Thankfully it's keeping the residents as safe as possible in these unprecedented times. I'm grateful for the efforts of the staff.
My mum has been in Balhousie Wheatlands for a few years. I have always been really happy with the way my mum is cared for. She is always kept clean, her clothes are spotless and her hair is always kept tidy. The staff keep me up to date with any issues my mum might have. The staff are exceptional from the nurses to the cleaners etc. I couldn’t have picked a better home for my mum. I’d give them 10 out of 10.
The care and service given to my wife have been first class. The staff have been excellent to her since the first day she arrived.
Both the nursing staff and office staff are excellent at Balhousie Wheatlands. They are always very approachable and nothing is ever a problem whenever you need to ask about anything. They are always quick to communicate any information regarding my Mum. I and my family are so glad that we managed to get Mum into Balhousie Wheatlands.
The management welcome and are receptive to feedback about resident's care and services provided. They respond very quickly. The staff work very hard at caring for residents, always with a smile and comforting dialogue. Wheatlands provide a range of activities for residents. The rooms and general decor looks a bit tired in some areas mainly due to the facility being an old converted property. Wheelchair access in room and toilet could be improved. Overall I feel satisfied that my relative is in a safe/secure environment supported by very approachable staff and management who provide service with a smile.
Management and all the staff are very approachable and always happy to help. I feel happy in the knowledge that my Mum in Law is in a safe secure atmosphere with staff who really care and do their best for all the residents.
My nana is always talking about how good the staff are to her. She enjoys the company and says she doesn't worry about anything. There are nice gardens for her to sit in the sun. Her room is lovely with all her own stuff in it. The staff are very pleasant and keep all our family up to date with how she's doing. They give her confidence.
Very family orientated relaxed atmosphere. Variation at activities to suit all abilities. Clean and homely. Staff pleasant, professional and give residents dignity on all personal occasions. Visitors and family always welcome. Nice garden areas to enjoy the good weather. In-house café - perfect with real teacups.
Very friendly, warm staff. My nana is always clean and tidy. She is treated very well. Her dignity is always respected. There is always a relaxed atmosphere. Nothing seems to be a problem. Her room is lovely and she's gotten her on furniture bedding photos around her. Even gets her wee brandy at night.
My Gran has been resident in the care home for one year. At the time she had been recently bereaved. The staff supported her through this difficult period in her life as she had been married to my papa for 57 years and she missed him terribly. The home's Dementia Ambassadors programme enabled my Gran to live her life to the fullest and she benefited greatly from the innovative Woodland experience which she hopes to attend again this year.
