View Full Details of Blanefield House Care HomeMy mum has advanced dementia and is currently a resident for a week's respite care. We visited yesterday. Given my mum is often unsettled at the best of times, I was quite anxious about how she had been. But I could not have been more delighted with the home and the staff. She was settled, enjoyed meeting people, enjoyed the food and everything. The staff have that rarest quality: they actually take a personal interest in genuinely caring about the residents. I highly recommend Blanefield House Care Home and cannot praise it highly enough.
My mum spent a week in Blanefield House for a respite break. On arrival, the staff made her feel so welcome and also gave me the reassurance that Mum would be well cared for and safe. There was such a lovely feel when you walked through the door. My mum had a lovely stay and praised the staff for their caring attentiveness to her needs. All my family and friends who visited my mum said she always looked content and well cared for. This was of great comfort to me to know. Mum is due another visit in May and is looking forward to it. Thanks to all the staff and management team.
My mum was a resident in Blanefield House for 6-days for end of life care. I was so pleased Mum was transferred to Blanefield House even if it was for end of life care. The manager is excellent and all the staff are very caring. I, myself, am a retired district nurse, sister and midwife, and I would be so happy to recommend Blanefield House for excellent care.
Blanefield House Care Home takes on a holistic approach to care. The staff not only care greatly for the residents but appear aware of the needs of family members who are visiting the home. The staff are always helpful and cheery and there is an ethos of positivity and calm. The staff are knowledgeable, well informed and show sensitivity in all situations. My mum was a resident there from June to October. The care she received was of a high standard and the staff were able to form positive bonds with my mum and the family. We are extremely thankful to Blanefield House Care Home for making the last days of my mum’s life so peaceful for her and the family.
My mother was in this care home for respite and I can't fault this home for anything. Manager and staff very friendly, helpful and caring. Room was kept clean and tidy. Mother was made to feel at ease and staff were so helpful and caring towards her. I would definitely recommend this home to everyone.
My father had an emergency admission to this care home as he had been falling at home and his Alzheimers had deteriorated. The home manager was excellent in assisting at a difficult time and the staff have been outstanding with my dad. He has improved tremendously and although he is moving to another care home, this is only as he is moving to be nearer to me.
We are happy with the care our Mother receives at Blanefield Care Home. We have always found the staff extremely helpful and friendly.
A wonderful welcome awaits everyone. All staff are very kind, interested and helpful. They try their best to get to know and fully understand all residents, even if a resident is difficult. My husband is currently here for respite funded by the local authority.
Friendly and caring staff, all staff willing to assist and be helpful at all times and visitors catered for as well. Personal care ie personal hygiene, washing of clothes, all to a very satisfying standard. Activities are also helpful and are organised. Meals are of a high standard and well organised. Access to the outer world is allowed by friends arranging day outings as from time to time. Staff keep friends and family informed of the resident's health and welfare.
My husband has been in Blanefield House Care Home for over one year. As regards staff, all of them down to the domestics and kitchen staff, I cannot praise them enough for their loving, understanding care. Such a homely, friendly atmosphere. A home from home. Rooms kept so clean (always going round inspecting rooms). One suggesting for residents with dementia is nice background music that they can associate with. That is not to say they don't have music but perhaps a bit more thought out. Some residents are beyond watching films, doing games etc.
