View Full Details of Allanbank Care HomeCan I please recommend for the highest commendation the staff, they all give the highest standard of care unequally in the care setting, could I recommend they are given a bonus of £1000 and £2000 would to be unreasonable. I'm sure they would not object to 10% of this. This is a genuine recommendation of the 66 other residents of the Allanbank Care Home.
Dads room is very clean and spacious and has a nice view. The staff are very helpful and have made it very easy for dad to settle in. He is eating well, enjoying all the meals and snacks. Staff accompany him on regular walks around the grounds. Definitely a weight off my mind that he is safe and well looked after.
It was a big decision to move my husbands dad into a care home, but he just wasn't safe at home. Since moving to Allanbank I feel that not only has my father-in-laws life improved, my husband is less stressed. The room is light and airy, with a lovely view. The grounds are nice and well maintained. And the staff are wonderful. The food is proper home cooked, and wholesome. The move was definitely the best decision. Thank you to the manager for your help/
We have nothing but praise for the management of Allanbank Care Home and for the staff in Glensone unit especially the dedicated, caring and compassionate care towards my husband. They certainly keep his spirits up. Thank you for going above and beyond to ensure his well-being and safety. Food is good but he says some days not so good. He would love to be able to play dominoes. We thank you.
My mum was physically not well at all during December 2024 and had a knock-on effect on her normal presentation. She was irritable and not appreciative of the support offered. Despite staff feeling unwell themselves they tried their best to show Mum patience and understanding and they reassured me that they were not taking things personally.
I have always experienced very kind and knowledgeable advice and guidance from the staff team. They are there for the service users at all stages of illness and offer the best care and treatment. Highly recommend this care home to family, friends and service users.
I wish to convey my heartfelt thanks to all the staff in Kier Unit where my friend was a resident for approximately 18 months. The unit was very clean and comfortable and the meals appeared to be very good with a great choice for residents. The activities team was very good at providing entertainment and as my friend was one of the younger residents he enjoyed this very much and was happy to participate when he could. Generally, the carers were very caring and professional and any minor issues that I raised were dealt with promptly, professionally, and resolved satisfactorily. During the last couple of weeks before my friend's passing the staff were exceptional and we as a family could not have asked for better care. I would like to thank all staff on behalf of the family our grateful thanks. I would certainly recommend this Care Home to anyone.
The staff are all very nice and have a nice friendly approach to all the residents. There are regular activities to join in. There are also outdoor trips which are greatly liked by everyone who goes. The food is very good and varied. The management is very good and friendly.
Mum suffered from dementia and other health issues. She moved into Allanbank last November after a hospital stay as it was no longer safe for her to go back home. Thanks to the lovely caring staff in Glensone Ward they treated her with respect and kindness and made her days enjoyable and she settled in after a couple of weeks. Unfortunately Mum took a turn for the worse recently and the staff went above and beyond to care for Mum in her final weeks/days of life every person pulled together as a team to make sure Mum was well looked after comfortable and pain-free right up until she passed away. The staff are very special people and will never be able to thank them enough.
My mum was admitted to Allanbank a couple of months ago and I cannot fault the care she has received. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Her needs are cared for and she is happy and settled. Communication is great between staff and the family. There are activities on most days and even though Mum can't do much for herself they always try and include her.
My mum has been a resident at Allanbank Care Home for nearly 3 years. In that time she has been very happy and well looked after. The management and staff are excellent with her care and dignity. The staff on her unit are very settled and this helps us to build a relationship with them. Overall excellent care.
When the senior and experienced staff are on duty, it is very noticeable and the standard of care is excellent. It would be good if all staff wore name badges. My husband has only been a resident since January 3rd, 2024 and sometimes the less experienced staff have not given him enough fluids. Has been dealt with to my satisfaction.
Delighted with the support to introduce my uncle to the home. Food is all freshly prepared and caters to his choices, is clean and very individualized to him. So far our experience is this is very person-centered.
My father entered Allanbank Care Home in June 2023. The staff were very friendly and supportive of my father and family helping to settle Dad in his new surroundings. They make sure that he goes along to the day room for most of the day and is not left isolated in his room. He is kept clean and tidy at all times. The staff take the time to keep him mobile.
Sister is happy at Allanbank, can be a bit stubborn to get involved, likes going swimming, happy to sit about, which you have to prompt her to do things, activities are quite a few, although she does get out with her sister quite a lot. Just feel with her being youngish and the others in her unit being older, it must be a bit of a long day, although she gets on with everyone. My only issue is the laundry, as her clothes don't seem to be returned.
Staff warm and welcoming when visiting. Food choice excellent. Warm environment and small units. Flexible approach to residents needs.
My mother has not been a resident for long but my overall opinion is very positive. The staff are kind and caring and very professional but it is clear they are understaffed. My mother is well cared for and reasonably happy.
All staff and management are working together as a team. I have noticed there is sometimes only one member of staff on to look after eight residents, which is a lot to see too. Overall. they give good support and encouragement. There is a wide variety of food and of a great standard.
Initial experience good but my mother has only been in six weeks. She enjoys the food and staff are excellent.
My 90-year-old mum moved here from hospital after some transient ischaemic attacks had left her very debilitated with high dependency. The staff have made a tremendous effort to meet all her many care needs and to get to know her. Two staff members and their team have been a tremendous support during this journey for Mum and the whole family. Mum is improving slowly and after six weeks is attempting to speak a little. One of the first sentences we could make out was “They are very kind” referring to her Allanbank carers. I think that says it all!
