View Full Details of Craighead Care HomeSince the change of management team and some staff, the home is now in a much better place. The teams are very supportive, friendly and caring. I am very impressed by the care shown to my sister. The team always keep me informed about any changes.
Lovely place, staff are so nice and friendly. Home is spotless and my aunt is very happy and well looked after. Can't fault it in any way.
Care home is very clean. Management and staff listen and take concerns on board. There are useful committees including residents and one for relatives. There are suggestion boxes. There is a newsletter. Outside spaces, gardens and chairs. There is a wheelie garden for less mobile. Range of activities including home bus - fantastic!
I have visited my aunt at Craighead Care Home 4 times since she has been there. The staff are excellent, very efficient, friendly and caring. Yesterday was the first time we saw it decked out for Christmas - was delighted to see how fabulous it was. My aunt was delighted to see us and seems very happy with the place.
I love seeing the photos and videos posted by the staff, it all takes time and effort but is hugely rewarding and such a pleasure to watch! My mother is always smiling and is very happy in the care home which is down to the caring staff and the many activities put on to involve all the residents and keep them occupied and happy. I'm very grateful.
My mother-in-law is very happy at Craighead. The staff are so caring and supportive, and my mother-in-law is well looked after. I can see when she interacts with the staff that she likes them and they are kind and jolly with her. There are many and varied activities to occupy the residents and I know that my Mother-in-law enjoys the gym sessions in particular. It means a lot to know that she is safe and happy and we are all very grateful for this.
I love it here. The staff are great. Nothing is too much for them, the food is good and you can get what you want. This is my home now.
Well what can I say? My mother was in Craighead Care Home from summer 2018 - December 2021. It was bad to adequate. What a turn around the manager has done. The decor is bright and welcoming. All staff are kind, caring, respectful and helpful They are wonderful. Activities are brilliant. Receptionist on in the hallway is lovely. Once, the worst care home in the local area (for a long time), now its the best, with a waiting list. Well done to the manager and the staff. If only you could have been there in 2018.
My sister is a resident here. I feel very fortunate to have found this particular care home. I visit a minimum of three days a week so I have ample opportunity to see for myself the loving staff show to all the residents. The manager is very enthusiastic and continually looks for ideas to stimulate residents. My sister loves the variety of musicians and joins in singing. It is very comforting for family to witness. Any suggestion is met, acted on immediately.
Our concerns and fears of how my mother in law would settle in were quickly alleviated by the skill and professionalism of the management and staff. We are kept informed of any issues of health that arise and are made most welcome when visiting. There is a great view over the Tay which is therapeutic and car parking is never a problem. My mother in law is getting the skillset that we lacked and that has given us peace of mind.
Lovely home. Mum has a lovely room. She is very well looked after. The staff are all very friendly, welcoming and caring. It is a pleasure to go and visit. We receive regular updates from the staff, about her health/wellbeing. The home is clean and inviting. There are daily events organised to stimulate the residents. The meals look tasty. We have peace of mind.
I've been very impressed with every member of the Craighead Care Home team since Mom moved in earlier this month. The kindness and care was evident from the minute she arrived, when the nurse came out to the car to say hello and welcome her in. Everyone (nurses, carers, handyman, laundry, cleaning and kitchen teams, administrator and manager) has been kind, caring, welcoming, professional and proactive at addressing settling-in niggles. The nurses are wonderful and clearly very experienced caring for people with dementia. The activity coordinators provide interesting, fun, well-structured, dementia-friendly activities every day and they have encouraged Mom to join in. The home is well-maintained and the rooms are bright and cheerfully decorated. Mom has the most wonderful view of the Dundee and the Tay estuary from her window. Craighead has all the ingredients to provide Mom with a lovely, safe and interesting home and I hope she'll be very happy there.
Myself and family are so happy with Craighead care home. Moving mum into care was a huge and stressful decision especially as we knew mum did not want to go into a care home. Mum has now been living in Craighead for a month and it was absolutely the correct decision. Mum is so happy and she settled very quickly, there are many activities for her to take part in and always lots of encouragement from the staff. She looks so well looked after. The staff always look happy and enjoy their work, when I visit Mum, is always hugging the staff and talking so fondly of them as if they were her friends. I do not live locally so seeing Mum on their social media page is great. Staff have always kept me updated and communicated well, we are always greeted and updated when we visit. I couldn't have asked for a better care home for Mum and I am so grateful for all the amazing staff at Craighead.
I am very pleased with the care my husband receives at Craighead. The staff are marvellous, so caring and kind. They are very pleasant and you can see in their faces that they enjoy what they do. It's like everyone is part of a family. It was a stressful time having to find a care home for my husband, worrying in case he didn't get good care or that he wouldn't settle. Our worries were soon allayed. We can see on our visits that he is well cared for, well-fed, and is very happy and content, which gives our family peace of mind.
Having moved here to Craighead in May, she is so much happier and settled. There are many activities to keep her happy and occupied, and she enjoyed the food. It gives us so much peace of mind to know that she is being well cared for, safe, secure and happy. The difference in her from sitting at home, isolated and repressed to where she is now is like chalk and cheese!
I am pleased that my relative is at Craighead. All the staff deserve a medal for their dedication and all the hard work they do. Every time I visit, they are always pleasant and friendly, and you can see how they care so much for the residents and treat them with dignity and respect. They interact well with the residents - they play games, provide them with various forms of entertainment (bingo, gardening, candle-making, singing, music and dancing, to name but a few) as well as taking them out for occasional day trips on the bus. Three meals a day are provided, which must be good because my relative eats everything given! Craighead provides secure accommodation, which gives us peace of mind. The bedrooms are adequate with a bed and some furniture, with a private toilet and sink. My relative is content and has not once asked to go 'home' since being a Craighead resident. Thanks again to you all.
My Mother has been in Craighead Care Home, Newport-On-Tay since July 2022. I have found the standards to have certainly improved since she moved in. The staff are caring and helpful and there is an abundance of activities in place for the residents to enjoy. The home is clean and tidy and the residents are well cared for. I would not hesitate to recommend Craighead Care Home to those who are looking for long-term care. I have only given satisfactory below, for value for money as I feel the monthly fees are very expensive, especially as my Mum self-funds.
All the staff that we have met have been so attentive to the residents and nothing seems to be too much trouble. I think it is so important that they have entertainment, trips on the bus, etc so it gives them something to look forward to.
I have been coming to Craighead for over a year now. Not once have I had to complain or make a nasty remark. The standard keeps getting better and better. The problem will be to be consistent.
Extremely happy with everything at the care home. The room and facilities are excellent and the staff are absolutely amazing. Always helpful and caring, friendly and compassionate. Highly recommended.
