View Full Details of Forth Bay Nursing HomeThe main contribution point is that in the case of care workers, there is little continuity. If you wish to meet up with staff on a particular day, they were not there on the previous day. So, issues go unresolved. On the plus side, the food and menu is fine. The nurses are professional and attentive. The home is kept tidy. Excellent reception!
My mother has been a resident at Forth Bay Nursing Home for almost three years. From the outset, when selecting Forth Bay, we were impressed by the care and attention of staff, and that has continued to this day. At all times, Mum has been treated with respect and incredible kindness and friendliness. This has extended into the local community, where she has been recognised and welcomed to local events. Despite Mum's age and limitations, the staff have all gone out of their way to make her feel included. They have frequently gone the extra mile "to make her feel at home"
My partner has now been in as a resident for two month and she appears to be very settled. The staff are very attentive to my partner's needs and she is always treated with dignity and consideration. There is a very homely feel in the nursing home and everyone looks to be well looked after. Very interested to see future activities which hopefully my partner will engage in. Looking forward to the summer months to get out into the garden. All good.
This care home is fantastic. I am kept up to date with my parents' care. its amazing to see how happy they are and how they are always treated with dignity and respect; nothing is ever too much hassle, and all the staff are so pleasant.
On behalf of the family I able to highlight the staff are brilliant professionals displaying the utmost attention to detail towards caring requirements. We always feel supported by staff and encouraged to engage ensuring any concerns are dealt promptly with compassionate approach and feedback.
Staff are friendly and welcoming, from an overall experience I feel there needs to be more activities/outings for residents to engage in, there have been a few times I've visited and residents are sitting round the TV watching inappropriate films with violence, swearing and they have complained. I feel staff should be more aware of this, it shouldn't be relatives that are having to find something more suitable to entertain them. There are times when I know my gran is well looked after depending on what team is on that day. Personal care and hygiene could be improved.
Most of the carer are good, but some don't understand what your are saying. My husband cant walk or talk therefore there are no activities. No idea what the night shift do, but my husband chair is often dirty, can't clean it through the day as the only time he is out of it is bed time. The laundry is not the most hygienic sometimes smells and stained.
Initially, we were made to feel very welcome when being shown around and despite the home maybe not being the most modern and looking a little tired, the most important thing, the care, turned out to be of the highest quality. The full-time staff could not do enough for my aunt and we were impressed with the reviews taking place regularly and being included. The caters, on the whole, were happy and attentive and only occasionally temporary staff appeared to be less interested. I was kept informed of any issues promptly and could see that actions agreed were being taken. Thanks to all - especially the lady on the reception and those on the ward. I know that she was happy staying at Forth Bay.
My wife has been in Forth Bay Nursing Home for just short of two years. My first impressions were very positive. The management, admin staff, catering staff and most importantly, the carers and nurses were all friendly, welcoming and caring in their roles. The premises were smart and clean. This has largely continued to be the case over two years. One reservation concerns the time taken to remedy maintenance issues - in the case of my wife's room: drawers coming apart, curtains handing fixtures and broken safety cover on electric switch mounting. Another regards the turnover of care staff - this seems to have accelerated of late.
1) Home is friendly and clean and my wife is always clean and tidy. 2) Getting entry when the desk is unmanned or at weekends and evenings, a keypad entry system is required as you can stand for 15 minutes. 3) Agency staff are not managed properly, perhaps lead shift nurses require management training. 4) Full-time staff cannot be faulted but sometimes seem to be short-staffed. 5) Full-time staff are very good and kind with the residents. 6_ Information on doctors or hospital appointments are not chased up, not good enough.
The staff at Forth Bay, from the cleaners to the management have to be highly praised. They are cheerful, very approachable, and never too busy to help. They have and are making my mother's stay quite enjoyable. The staff are very good at keeping me informed of any changes to meds or doctor/hospital visits. Forth Bay is a friendly, warm and comfortable nursing home, but made so by the care and dedication of the staff, for which I am so very grateful.
From the first day, I have been impressed by the way we were welcomed and encouraged. I have found the staff to be very aware of my relative's needs and they have grown to understand their ways very quickly. This has meant I am no longer stressed about safety concerns and that any need is quickly addressed. From the managers and unit staff to housekeeping and admin, I have nothing but the highest praise.
Brother has been a resident in the home for three years. Staff are very good and give him the best care you could ask for, for any relative.
My son has been resident in Forth Bay since January 2020 and he is so well looked after. I am content that the way he is treated is so kind and constant. He is always clean and well dressed whenever I visit him. I don't have a regular day to visit as I am elderly and depend on someone driving me to Kincardine so its lovely to know he is genuinely well attended. I can only say I am happy he is in Forth bay with all the kind and lovely, hardworking staff.
Good points; 1) Staff are very good and so patient. 2) Food excellent. 3) Gardens meticulously kept. Possible improvements; 1) More activities/trips out - garden centre, local eateries. 2) External door entry - reception is often unmanned, leading to long wait times for visitors. 3) More 1-1's between care staff and residents.
Staff are lovely and very caring. Room is clean and comfortable. Food is inconsistent. Fish and chips (Friday) and roast on Sunday are very good. Breakfast is good. Lunch tends to be soup which is good but other food can be very stodgy. No salafs. Stodgy pasta, lots of chips - unhealthy and often unappetising. Activities are lacking - no regular, meaningful or stimulating activities aside from church service televised on Sundays. Weekly activities and singing would be appreciated. Staff are lovely though!
No complaints. Can find no fault with any part of the home. Staff excellent. Part of the home is being rebuilt but has no effect on care.
We are very happy with the care given to Mum since she has been in Forth Bay. Her health has improved somewhat since she came to stay, thank you.
Excellent care. Mum always well cared for. We regularly visit, even impromptu visits, and Mum always tidy, clean, well dressed, hair/nails done. Staff/management keep me informed and are approachable for questions. We have good rapport with staff.
