View Full Details of Henderson House Care HomeMy dad has been in Henderson House for over 5 years with dementia, which has been very hard to watch as his daughter. The staff have helped me understand the illness as much as they can, some days are harder than others, but they always take time to sit and talk with me. The staff at the home take on my dads needs, his room. has all his photographs up of his family and a lot of his individual items, which are all looked after. Dad spends most of his time in the dining room/lounge, so that he can see what is going on and be involved in what is happening (Nosey) still! If I have any problems or concerns the staff are always there for me to go to and discuss what is worrying me and then help sort it out. The home is a not just a home it is a large family (Henderson Family). They not only look after their residents they take care to look after family members as well.
My mum is thriving in Henderson House. She has made friends and they have meal times together. Mum is well looked after and happy. Her room is warm and clean. All the staff are kind and caring and know Mum's likes and dislikes. Thank you to all the staff. I rated facilities lower as the lounge is clinical but I'm aware this is getting done up in the near future
I find that Henderson House listened to all of my mums needs and were able to accommodate her requests. Nothing is too much trouble for all of the staff. Activities are great for my mums wellbeing and always see smiles when I visit. A few weeks ago my mum had a fall when out with me. The way the staff treated the situation was first class when we arrived back from A & E at 23.45hrs staff had been briefed and gave mum excellent care, checking on her every 30 minutes. A fantastic home.
At the start of 2024, we had to take the difficult decision to move Mum into residential care, and she moved into Henderson House 8 months ago. Up until then, she had lived with either myself or my sister for 5 years, and we had hoped that could continue. But it couldn't - and since Mum moved to Henderson House we have had such positive experiences. The staff genuinely care about the residents, Mum is so well looked after and cared for, they really seem to enjoy having her there! We were able to personalise her room, so Mum feels at home with her things around her. And even more than that - the staff show a genuine interest in the lives of her and her family, acknowledging who we all are and the part we still want to play in her life. It is lovely to be able to be her daughter again, rather than her carer, and to enjoy the time we have together. We put our trust in the Care Home Manager and his team, and they have proved themselves, beyond doubt.
The compassion, dedication, and professionalism demonstrated by the whole team was truly outstanding and made a significant difference to the resident and our entire family during a difficult time. The level of comfort and quality of care that she received and the support shown by the staff did not go unnoticed and meant a great deal to us. In recognition of the exceptional service provided, I would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the entire team at Henderson House Care Home. Your dedication to ensuring the well-being of your residents is truly remarkable. With gratitude.
All staff were excellent and easy to approach to talk to. Nothing was a bother always happy to fix a concern, was very compassionate and kind, very professional with residents always had time to talk to family members.
The management and all the staff at Henderson House deserve much praise for providing a warm, caring, respectful, and safe home, for which I cannot thank them enough. Special call out to all the wonderful nursing staff whose dedicated work is greatly appreciated and admired.
My mother became a resident at the beginning of February and the care home and its staff have been absolutely amazing. From the initial contact with the Home Manager, who was so helpful and friendly, to the everyday functioning of the home and care of the residents, it’s been first class. My mother has had a second lease of life moving into the home. She’s loving all the activities, all her new friends and the food! The staff are so proactive in getting the residents to join in and it’s great to see all the photos/videos of them enjoying themselves. It’s brought a huge relief to my brother, as we can now go and spend quality time with my mother whilst she is being so well looked after. All our mother's care is now looked after by the home from doctor, hairdresser, optician, dentist and podiatrist. The rooms are a good size and it’s great you can personalise them and bring in some photos and belongings. We would definitely recommend the home as our experience has been so positive.
My dad was in Henderson House for 5 weeks it was his first time away from living at home (he's almost 91 years old) and he was made so welcome from the minute he arrived. He was treated with such kindness and formed a bond very quickly will all the staff who treated him with love and respect. I had absolute confidence in them and cannot thank them enough for taking the time to make sure he was okay and for taking the time to get to know him. Thank you to everyone involved.
What a gem Henderson House Care Home is! It is set in a beautiful location with trees surrounding it. They have a beautiful well-kept garden area with chickens that provide fresh eggs - yum! The staff, nurses and management all have plenty of time to make everyone feel welcome. They have a challenging job to look after our loved ones but do it well with a smile. Not forgetting the rest of the team, cleaners, kitchen staff and hairdressers. Thank you all.
I am completely happy with all aspects of Henderson House.
From the moment you walk into Henderson House, the welcome is lovely with smiles and a caring hello. All the staff are so ready to listen. The home is immaculately clean and my husband says the food is always tasty. All the staff work very hard to ensure the residents and relatives are comfortable and happy. They also welcome with open arms our puppy cocker spaniel. Can highly recommend it.
Staff are very pleasant and very willing to help. Management is very approachable and prepared to listen, always popping into the room for a chat and asking how we are doing. I have no problems with my dad being in here.
My mum resided in the home for 8 months until she passed in March. I spent ten days in Henderson by her side. The staff were all extremely caring and professional, and each and every one of them went above and beyond to ensure my mum's final days were as peaceful, pain-free and loving as they could be. They were extremely attentive and caring to me, too, and I honestly don't think I would have gotten through that period of time without their kindness, support and love. Nothing was too much trouble for them. It reassured me that my mum had been looked after extremely well whilst she was there, and although I never wanted her to go into a care home, I completely changed my mind during that time. The staff were exceptional, and I'll never forget how amazing they all were during such a difficult time. My mum's sense of humour remained until the end, thanks to the bond she had with the carers and staff. Thanks to each and every one of you.
Such a lovely caring team! So glad we found them to care for my mother-in-law. She is settled and safe and has a good relationship with the care staff. The management team are very approachable and admin team are also great!
In my experience, my husband could not receive better care from the staff. He has had a difficult time settling into his new surroundings and situation but without exception, he has been shown care, kindness and courtesy. My own transition has been helped by the kindness of the staff. Kindness is a commodity in short supply in today's world, but Henderson House Care Home staff have it in abundance. Thank you.
Staff are generally friendly and helpful I feel very well informed of my mother's health and well-being. I see improvements in the building and garden are being done - smashing. More importantly, I feel my mother is well cared for and I appreciate the difficulty and stresses this placed on staff during Covid and thank the management for their care.
My mother has been a resident for almost three years. Her medical care is excellent. The facilities are being upgraded at this present time and will be beneficial to residents and staff. I always feel most welcome by the admin and nursing staff who are so helpful. I do not always feel welcome by some of the caring staff who have to answer the door at the weekends (with the time it takes under covid regulations) which is fully understandable as visitors are taking them away from their own work. They then have to leave their work to let visitors out again (which can take quite some time). Hopefully this can be resolved soon. Henderson House has had three managers and now have an interim manager in these three years.
Henderson House Care Home has a caring and supportive ethos. The team of carers, nurses and Admin staff are kind, understanding, accommodating and nothing is any trouble. If I have a worry or concern it is dealt with promptly and professionally with a positive outcome. Staff are friendly and approachable and express love and affection to the residents. There is always plenty going on to entertain and stimulate the residents. My family member feels loved and cared for, now covid restrictions are easing there are plans to improve outdoors which is really exciting.
Unable to identify staff when visiting as no name badges worn. No evidence of stimulus (e.g. activities) or visits from physiotherapists or occupational therapists. This may be due to the pandemic and things may improve now.
