View Full Details of Willow House Nursing HomeMum only recently moved to Willow House and we couldn't be happier with the care provided. Willow House has a warm, friendly, caring approach from all staff. Everyone is approachable and helpful. The home is light, clean and nicely decorated. The garden is especially nice and easily accessible. The manager went above and beyond to make sure mums needs were met. Nothing is too much bother. Most importantly mum is happy and safe.
My mum transferred from hospital to Willow House in January 2025 following a stroke. We had been caring for her for several years at our home, but as her dementia was worsening and her care needs increasing we had to make the difficult decision to move her into a care setting. The managers and staff at Willow House have been so supportive, kind and caring during this transition period- I cannot thank them enough. My mum is settling very well, which we did not expect, and is comfortable and very well cared for. She is joining in activities and the staff are all very encouraging with this. Staff always have a smile and a greeting for residents and visitors alike and it all creates a warm, friendly environment.
Shout out to the activities at Willow and the young lady who runs it who is always going the extra mile with the people at Willow House. She does her job with a great big smile on her face and shows so much attention and passion with her job. She is always making sure that everyone is involved within the activities as much as possible and that they are all happy with what they are doing. She is a real Gem and a great person that the team should count themselves lucky to have.
All staff are kind and helpful to my dad. The place looks and feels cheery. It also smells clean when you enter, which is reassuring. The staff give you a warm welcome and know what your family members are up to and how they are. The place is managed well and has nice staff. All staff are approachable whenever you have a question or request and they help and care kindly. I feel my dad is safe and cared for.
My granny suffered a stroke last year and has had to move into this home, and my family and I have been blown away by how wonderful Willow House is! The level of care is brilliant, staff are so friendly when we visit, and my granny seems incredibly settled - which is something we were worried about with the transition! She also absolutely loves the meals!!! Thank you much to all the staff at Willow House.
Willow House is the most welcoming place. The staff are thoughtful, caring and supportive to the residents and the families. The manager and his team have re-decorated and added new furniture and paintings etc. after asking residents for ideas. They make special efforts on birthdays and anniversaries, and for residents and their spouses to have Christmas dinner together. Nothing is ever too much and any issues are dealt with professionally and quickly. Great communication and always make time for a wee chat. I'm so pleased we chose Willow House.
My dad moved into Willow House in July. It took him a few months to settle in and get used to things, he seems to be settled now and happy. I find the staff very nice and approachable. The home is very clean and always lots going on for the residents.
After a few initial teething issues got sorted out, as a family we cannot fault the care given to our mum. She is well looked after, enjoys the meals and the staff's company. There is always something to involve them in activities, lots of cups of tea and biscuits. Staff are friendly and helpful at all times.
A first-class service from management and staff alike. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Residents are treated with kindness, patience, dignity, humour and respect. As a family, we feel very supported and lucky to be in the care of such a professional, responsive and friendly team. Thank you to each and every one of you!
Very welcoming and homely care home, staff have been wonderful with my mother, they are always willing to help and go above and beyond for residents, always a great range of activities on and lovely meals served!
My mother has been in Willow House since August and from day 1 she settled which was rather unexpected. She wasn't eating much to begin with but now has a great appetite. Mum gets on well with most residents, she has a fantastic relationship with all the staff and has started getting involved in activities. The staff are always very welcoming and the care home manager has been very supportive in what has been a very difficult few months for myself. Overall I think this is a great care home and the staff work incredibly hard.
The most welcoming, caring and supportive home to my dad and extended family. Nothing is a bother, extensive range of activities, community visits ie church services etc. Meals are delicious. New decorating of the home has enhanced the service.
A lot of changes in the care home since my mum arrived a year ago, but the care and assistance have been fantastic! While visiting, I would suggest that the cleanliness in the lounge is reviewed more frequently. Perhaps different seats for guests as the seats can look very unhygienic. Perhaps more activities for residents also as not many recreational events seem to be happening. Overall, excellent environment.
My mum has had a really hard time with her health, especially over the last year, but she has been looked after so well I have no complaints. The staff really care about her health and comfort. I have noticed a huge difference in the atmosphere recently, it's much more calm and happy. The changes the new management are making are great overall and I really feel my mum is being looked after very well. There is also meetings being introduced involving staff and residents' families to give us the chance to have our say good or bad and put forward any ideas we might have (i.e. activities etc) which I think will help us all feel more involved with how our loved ones are cared for. All in all, I feel that when I can't be there my mum is being cared for as well as she can be.
Mum moved into Willow House Nursing Home in August 2022. Since then, there has been a new management team and some new staff. This appears to have transitioned with none or little disruption to residents. The new manager arranged an informal meeting with families to share ideas for Willow's future. There is an interactive noticeboard where we are encouraged to contribute suggestions. All bedrooms and public areas have been redecorated in pretty colours, new carpets fitted providing a warm, bright, fresh ambience for residents, staff and visitors. I find all staff friendly, approachable, professional and caring, ensuring the little things are addressed too, like painting mum's nails. All of this is conducive to a supportive, engaging environment. I am relieved to have found Willow House, it feels welcoming, from walking through the front door to leaving after visiting I feel content that she is well cared for, by a caring staff. This gives me and my brother peace of mind that she is safe.
Prior to entering Willow House, my husband was in a poor condition, very agitated, losing weight and falling regularly. I was impressed with how quickly he settled into the home and soon seemed calmer, was eating well and no falls. He has a very nice room, which I was encouraged to personalise for him. Initially, I did feel that communication between the home and myself was limited (a relative's information pack would have been helpful), however, I received full and useful information at his six-week review, and I now feel well informed. Staff are friendly and has a good rapport with my husband. I am particularly impressed with the activities programme, which has helped to stimulate my husband.
Overall resident is getting looked after but no stimulation and little self-involvement. We know she can be difficult but at times we are concerned re her personal care from seemingly amateur carers, though not all, just a hard core of some who seem unable to comprehend.
Overall, all cleanliness is good. The staff sometimes could be more engaged with residents. Facilities could be updated. More water and juice available in the evening, other than that your care home is good.
