View Full Details of The Cowdray ClubDad has been at The Cowdray Club since May 2024. The staff have been excellent and everyone is so friendly. I have had so much support from all the staff, nurses, carers, administrators and the managers. I visit regularly and if there are any issues they are addressed immediately. If there are medical issues the nurses always contact me and keep me informed as to what is happening. I really appreciate everything The Cowdray Club does for Dad.
Cowdray Club is truly a wonderful place - all the staff are amazing. They are a dedicated, caring, cohesive team. My 97-year-old mum gets respite there and from the moment I walk in I know my mum is in safe, caring hands. The welcome is so warm it's like taking her to stay with a family. I really stress about putting my mum into respite but my anxieties are dispelled as soon as I see the love that is given to her from the moment we walk in and from my daily follow-up calls which further provide me with reassurance. The environment itself is very clean, warm, and homely. The individual rooms are a good size, with their own on-suite, and appropriately furnished with colourful bedding, pictures on the walls, and a comfy chair! But most of all - it's the staff that makes this place special. I cannot thank them enough for taking care of my mum - I have peace of mind when I get my much-needed respite time. Thanks to all.
Both my parents had been experiencing difficulties at home despite daily carer visits. After a very difficult last 6 weeks, I had to look into full-time care. After a search, The Cowdray Club came up. I have never looked back. The manager and her team have been fantastic. From first contact, the process has been made easy with understanding and care. It was a very difficult and upsetting decision to move Mum and Dad out of their home of 60 years. I was racked with guilt thinking of moving my previously very independent parents into "an old folks home". It was all-consuming and spending 24/7 with them was becoming impossible to keep going myself. Since moving, into a fantastic double room, they have settled in so well and it has been a great comfort to know they are being cared for so well. I now sleep at night! They are safe and being looked after by a dedicated and wonderful team. Nothing is too much bother. 10/10. Amazing people. Thank you all so very much. Keep up the brilliant work.
Could not be more happy with the excellent care my mother is receiving. It has surpassed all expectations and a place that can be highly recommended. She is happy, content, exceptionally well looked after and attended too.
My parents moved into the Cowdray Club together earlier this year. Myself and the whole family are so happy with the move. It was a daunting move, but the Cowdray team made it as easy as it could be. It felt like they really cared from the very start. We are happy with every aspect of their care. It goes without saying that their health care and security come first, and we have no concerns there. Some highlights include the quality of the entertainment and food, as well as the regular family meetings. Thanks to the Cowdray team!
Excellent and friendly staff, can't do enough for my mum (or I). After numerous years of dealing with Cowdray Club, they continue to exceed expectations and always go above and beyond. Thanks as always go to everyone at Cowdray Club.
My aunt passed away recently at Cowdray having been a resident there for 3 years+. She was admitted during COVID-19 and had a challenging journey to get there. I really did not expect a long residency but down to the wonderful care, professionalism and love shown by the staff led by the most amazing manager, her final years were happy and contented. What a team. Thank you so much.
This was my husband's first respite. I was very apprehensive, as was my husband but the staff made us feel relaxed and secure. We were introduced to some of the other residents and the lounge (day room) was a homely environment. His room was light and bright, lovely filled bookcase and TV. All visitors who came to see my husband were offered tea or coffee and reported back to me how settled and happy my husband was. Just loved the friendliness of the staff.
This was my father’s first respite care stay and we were all nervous about it in different ways. The staff could not have been nicer to him or to me. He is naturally quite shy, but with the help of the staff, made friends with other residents, to the point that he said he would come back when they were coming back! I was encouraged to drop in at any time so that it felt like visiting my dad in his own home. That made a huge difference to me. Overall, I don’t think we could have had a more positive first-time care experience.
The manager and his team do an excellent job of looking after Dad during his frequent respite stays at Cowdray. The care is of an excellent standard and is truly individualised and person-centred. All members of staff are friendly and obliging and treat Dad with respect and dignity. The management team is forward-thinking, conspicuous and available to communicate with relatives which to us as a family is really important.
Very pleased with everything at the care home. All the members of staff speak to you when they see you, they go out of their way to make you feel very welcome anytime you visit. All the staff are very caring and helpful nothing seems to be a problem for them to attend to. The staff appear to be happy and enjoy working at the home. The home is spotless and quiet.
My mum moved in just over one month ago and it has been such a positive experience for us as a family. She has settled in well and she seems so happy and content. She has her smile back now after coming from a home that got shut down for failing its residents. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and seem to really love their job. There are always different activities going on and the staff encourage residents to get involved too. The cleaning standards are really high and there are always varied choices on the food menu. The Manager has really helped build our trust back up in the care system and I am so happy my mum is staying at Cowdray Club.
I have recently lost my partner who has been in The Cowdray Club for over two years, the level of support not only my partner received but I too, was superb. The staff supported us at every hurdle. I have really struggled to deal with my loss and want to thank the home manager and his deputy manager for all they do for me. I have really struggled and the team continue to support me with weekly visits to the home where I get support with my emotional needs. I am very grateful and don't know what I would do at the moment without them. The management helped me organise her funeral too because I was really struggling. Thank you to the Cowdray Family. Thank you for continuing to help me through this dark time. I am very much looking forward to the Halloween relatives meeting on Friday 27th of October the meetings are a great support to me especially with other relatives who have had loved ones pass on. Thank you Cowdray Club
My dad has been a permanent resident at Cowdray since last year. From the second Dad arrived we were welcomed into the Cowdray family with open arms, the transformation we have seen in Dad over his time there has been nothing short of amazing. The care and attention to detail from the staff are unlike anything I’ve ever seen at a care home before. They go above and beyond for the residents and families and I would highly recommend them to anyone and everyone!
I cannot sing the praises of The Cowdray Club highly enough! Over the four years that my mother spent in their care, not once did the family feel there were any issues whatsoever with her welfare and well-being. At all times we witnessed the staff showing nothing but care, compassion and dignity to the residents in the twilight of their years. Similarly, at no point did we experience any personal cleanliness issues or The Cowdray Club being nothing short of a 5-star facility. The management and staff are exceptional at their jobs and Renaissance should be extremely grateful, proud and thankful they have such a good team of employees at The Cowdray Club. I would have no hesitation recommending The Cowdray Club to anyone thinking of joining this exceptional facility.
My friend has been in The Cowdray Club Care Home for over two years. She is very frail at 96 years of age. She gets the very best of care from the fabulous staff. The home is always clean and tidy and welcoming to visitors. The staff are friendly and attentive and the manager is first-class. He has a strong work ethos and is obviously very passionate about what he does. The home is well-run and there seems to be plenty going on to keep the residents fully included. If the time comes when I need care - I would book my room at The Cowdray Club, without hesitation!
I am writing to express how delighted I am with the high standard of care at The Cowdray Club. From leadership at the top, the positivity, care and direction follows through. Communication is always open. This is no ordinary care home, it’s outstanding. The residents, including my mum, are happy, content and well cared for. It’s The Cowdray family and it works. All the staff are exemplary and appear to be happy at their work. The Cowdray Club is clean and fresh, the food is homemade, including delicious cakes as teatime treats. The daily activities are inspired: dancing with a dance team; life-size interactive puppets; visits from support dogs; children signing songs; themed art for every occasion etc. Residents engage, contribute and continue to live their best lives under the watchful support of The Cowdray family. There are minibus outings and a mature garden for activities, gardening or sitting and enjoying the sunshine with family and friends. Well done The Cowdray Club, you are indeed exceptional.
After having a serious stroke, my husband was well cared for for more than two years. Management, care and nursing staff were attentive and supportive of him and the family for which we were very grateful.
My Grandma was brought to The Cowdray Club in the summer of 2020 and passed earlier this month, February 2023. I and my family cannot thank the manager and his wonderful team enough. All the staff there are very friendly and go above and beyond with their personal touches. In what can be a challenging and thankless job the staff seem to work well together and you can tell almost like a family! It is very comforting to see. Although I miss my grandma terribly my auntie and I will also miss seeing the manager and team. Thank you to each and every one of you, my grandma really couldn't have been anywhere better.
One of the best homes I have ever known. My uncle is so, so happy and it has completely changed his life and that of his family knowing he is loved and cared for by all the amazing staff. A special mention to the manager, he is a one-of-a-kind person with so much love and compassion for others. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you have done and continue to do.
