View Full Details of Laurels Lodge Care HomeMy father is a resident at Laurel's and is well looked after. Always clean and shaved. Great activities held. His room is always clean and tidy. Only down fall is the lack of parking. The gardens are ok. All staff are welcoming and polite. Food is good. We held a small family party for his birthday and they provided sandwiches etc at no cost.
My Dad has been at Laurels for nearly a year now and we couldn't ask for a better care home for him. The staff are caring and supportive and always puts the needs of the residents first. They have been very quick to pick up on any medical issues too. It's reassuring when we leave from a visit that we know he's being well looked after.
We have recently moved our Mum to Laurels Lodge and we can't believe the difference in comparison. Everyone who works at the home has been so kind, always smiling and happy to see you. We were very nervous about making the move for our mum but they filled us with such confidence. While viewing the home for my mum I was blown away by the respect and compassion they had for the residents, which made me feel very comfortable that my mum was in a safe place. I love how much activities are planned for the residents and very much love seeing all the updates on their social platforms. You can see the joy from not only the people but the staff working! My Mum is still settling, the move has obviously been very confusing however she always tells us that the staff are very friendly and the food is good!
My mum went into Laurels Lodge Care Home at the height of covid until she sadly recently passed away. My first thoughts of Laurels Lodge was it had a very cosy, homely and happy atmosphere. Mum was always shown kindness and care and was treated with respect and dignity. She always had a big smile for the staff which says a lot. We were always well informed of any concerns they had no matter how small which we very much appreciated and it was such a comfort to us knowing mum was in a place with staff who really cared. I would like to thank management and staff for taking such good care of our beautiful mum. You have one of hardest jobs and you do it with such care and compassion. I would have no hesitation and would highly recommend Laurels Lodge for anyone looking for the best care for their loved ones.
When it came to Mum needing 24-hour care the only place we would consider was Laurel's Lodge. We had previous experience with Laurel's and would not want our mum going anywhere else. We were very lucky that Mum got a room. The whole staff at Laurel's treat their residents as part of their family. The time and patience they have for each resident is unbelievable. "Nothing too much for them". As for the social activities well these are endless and there is something to suit everyone. It's so nice to see them all smiling and participating, we really struggled at home to keep Mum occupied and stimulated. We will never be able to thank the staff at Laurel's for all their care/love/understanding/patience towards Mum and the family as a whole. Cannot recommend Laurel's enough.
Have dealt with Laurels Lodge Care Home in the past with my brother and dad. Now my mum is a resident, wouldn't want her to go anywhere else. The best in Aberdeen. Staff are brilliant, so kind even to family. Residents have the very best of care. Wouldn't want my mum anywhere else. The best home ever.
We couldn't rate Laurels Lodge high enough. The home was clean and didn't smell. The decor was okay. The staff were excellent with my Father and with the family - always happy to help, give advice, and take phone calls. They were always quick to pick up any medical issues.
It is always hard when a family member has to go into permanent care but the staff and management at Laurels Lodge Care Home have made this process as painless as possible for all family members and most importantly for my mother-in-law. They have shown kindness and care to her since she arrived even when she has been quite difficult to manage. This has made it easier on all of us but in particular her husband.
I would describe Laurels Lodge as having a family atmosphere all staff are very friendly and approachable. The outside is very well kept and the inside is clean and modern. Meals are various so plenty of choices for everyone. Staff make sure all residents are clean and well turned out (men shaved and ladies' hair done). The activities are exceptionally good and all levels are catered for. Regardless of what the worker's title is everyone works as a team from manager to domestic and everyone in between this leads to a great atmosphere in the home for both residents and visitors, I am so glad my mum has come to stay at Laurels as I know she will be well cared for and safe.
My mum went into Laurels while Covid was at its peak. I wasn’t allowed to see her in her own unit due to this. But it was made possible for me to see her. When I was allowed to see Mum, she looked happy, relaxed, clean, and most of all, as if she was having the best time. Once I was allowed up to her room, I was allowed to decorate it as much as I liked, and this was after it had been freshened up with new wallpaper and paint. Mum always had a smile for all the carers, which I think says a lot. Mum was happy, well-fed, clean and cared for. The carers went over and beyond with care. They treated my mum as if she was one of theirs, with respect and dignity at all times. Like family. Sadly, my mum died in January of this year, and this is when the carers went beyond my expectations. The care they gave both my mum and me was way beyond anything I expected. I would highly recommend the Laurels to anybody considering putting their loved one into care.
My father moved into Laurels Lodge in November 2022. I could not ask for a better place for Dad. He is so well cared for and the staff are friendly, caring and compassionate. There are lots of activities and entertainment provided and families and friends are always welcomed with a smile and a cup of tea. The staff also ensure that we are well informed of any issues regarding Dad. I would just like to convey my thanks to the manager and all her staff for Dad’s care and well-being.
Staff are amazing with residents, my dad lives there and he is difficult at times, but the staff deal with him professionally. The staff really get the residents involved in all the entertainment, my dad loves dancing and singing staff are always there to have a dance with him. Thank you all for your kindness, you have one of the hardest jobs.
I am so happy with Laurels Lodge Care Home. My dad has been there for over 2 years. He is so happy there. Well looked after. The management and staff are so lovely and their hearts are in the work that they are doing. Well done.
My mother moved into Laurels Lodge at the beginning of August, having recently been diagnosed with vascular dementia. She has settled in very well and I am very happy that she is in an environment that she feels at home in. The staff put the residents at the forefront of what they do. It is a very caring environment. The home is very active on social media and it's great we get to see a snapshot of the day to day activities that they are involved in.
As a family, we are very happy with the way Laurels are caring for my husband. He has been in since December and although it has taken a while for him to settle he seems to be coping well. All down to the excellent staff who we feel always give 100% to caring for him. Well done to you all.
As soon as I had been shown round Laurels Lodge Care Home I knew it was the right care home for my mum. The building is clean, bright and cosy and the staff are so caring, helpful, kind and cheerful. Mum has been a resident for eight weeks and I'm happy to say she's settling in well. The staff have been very supportive with Mum's transition into residential care. The residents are well cared for and have a varied menu at mealtimes with a choice of good nutritious food. There's stimulating activities every day where residents, staff and relatives can get involved. It's really lovely seeing Mum smiling, singing and dancing again. Thank you to all the staff of Laurels Lodge Care Home, you are all angels.
My mum has been at the Laurels for a year now, and we couldn't have asked for a better place for mum to be. She is so well looked after by all the staff, who are so caring and compassionate. Most have them have been there for a long time, so they know all the residents (and their families, who are always made welcome) really well. Mum's appetite has improved so much since she arrived, which was a worry before, and there are always lots of activities and entertainment. Special occasions like Valentine's Day and Easter are celebrated, along with birthdays, which is lovely for the residents. Staff are always willing to join in the fun or even provide last-minute entertainment when bad weather gets in the way. The staff always let you if they are concerned about your relative, which is reassuring. It is a weight off my mind knowing mum is being well looked after by people who really care.
My mother is in Laurels Lodge Care Home and has been there for about three years now. All the staff and support workers take really good care of our mother and keep us well-informed on any issues. They did very well during the lockdowns etc. due to Covid and took great care to protect all residents. The main thing is that they retain all their staff, which is good for the residents that they see the same faces on a daily basis.
Since my grandma moved into Laurels Lodge, I've noticed a big improvement in her generally. She's eating well and more importantly, she's actually enjoying the food. She's also much happier now she's in the company of other people. The staff are brilliant with her. They promote her independence where she is able and assist her when she needs it. She looks well looked after. The staff are kind and caring and enjoy having a laugh with my grandma, which is just what she needs! At home she was so lonely, it's great to see the difference in her in just a few months!
The staff are exceptional with very many long-serving staff. This is highly unusual in the care sector. They all know my dad so well and they are so open and friendly with relatives. This creates a happy, loving atmosphere. I know my dada is loved and cared for and this is a comfort for his family.
