View Full Details of Deeside Care HomeOur dad entered Deeside Care home in December 24. He was given a warm welcome by all the staff and our interactions with staff extremely positive. We felt as a family that dad would be cared for and kept safe.
Our mother has been a resident of Deeside Care Home since February of this year. We have been extremely pleased with the care and attention she has been given. Special meant to the nurse on the 2nd floor. The home itself is well maintained and a very welcoming environment for visitors.
My mum's experience at Deeside was excellent overall. Both my mum and the family were cared for and supported well during her time there. The nursing care was outstanding and so efficient at all stages of her residency. All the staff including care, cleaning, kitchen and administrative staff were interested and reactive to any concerns or questions. Many staff who were not in a formal care position demonstrated genuine care and respect for my mum. The management of the home is highly efficient and deals with all issues raised promptly and with understanding.
My mum moved into Deeside on 5th April having come from another home. In the short 2 weeks she has been there there, has been such a difference. She goes to the dining room for meals and speaks to other residents. Goes to activities. The staff are all so nice and can't do enough for my mum. It's just so lovely for me to see her so much happier. Her room is so big and bright. Feel good knowing my mum is safe and happy.
I'm so glad I chose Deeside Care Home for my parents! I feel the care offered is second to none, and I'm totally confident my Mum and Dad are in safe, expert hands, with the kindest carers, nursing staff, admin team and managers. From the warmest welcome at reception and the homely atmosphere, all staff strive to help residents live to their full potential, and participate in the life of the home. The wonderful activities coordinators plan programmes of events which are inclusive for all, ensuring every day is fulfilling. The home is kept immaculate by housekeeping and maintenance staff, and my parent's nutrition has vastly improved thanks to the delicious meals. All staff go above and beyond for the residents and their families. This ethos is fostered by the wonderful manager, who takes the time to get to know and understand every resident, their family and friends and who ensures the home is run to an exceptionally high standard. My parents are very happy and settled there - thank you.
Warm and friendly atmosphere as soon as you walk in the front door. Nothing is too much trouble. Activities that are organised are well thought out, well organised and inclusive to all. Communication is excellent. Very, very clean - never any smells. Staff very friendly. Always a member of staff present subtly in the background.
Professional service, good atmosphere. Good staff. Very professional approach to residents. Well-qualified staff. A pragmatic manager synchronizes everything together. I’m sure is best care home in Aberdeen.
Mum spent 3 years at Deeside. During this time she was very well cared for and always safe. Good communication from the care team on any issues - for example, any small falls, health concerns etc. She had access to different activities, although, as her dementia moved towards the final stages this became difficult for her. During her final weeks, she was treated with kindness and dignity. Staff ensured that someone was with her holding her hand right to the very end (This meant a lot to us as we were unable to be with her at the end). Management and nursing staff are always approachable and helpful. Care team as a whole work with kindness and consideration for the residents. I have no hesitation in recommending Deeside.
We looked at a number of care homes around the Aberdeen area and opted for Deeside Care Home. Absolutely no regrets with this decision. A very modern, homely, comfortable feel about this place that we didn't get with the other homes we visited. The staff at Deeside Care Home are a credit to their profession. For the time my dad resided at the home the staff were brilliant with him, even when there were times when he probably tried the patience of a saint. I sadly can't rate the activities there as my dad was never well enough to take part in any, but if they were anything like the rest of the home then I'm sure they would be first class. I have no problem highly recommending Deeside Care Home and its staff to anyone.
My aunt's experience in Deeside Care Home was very good. She was unable to go to the dining room or join in activities, due to frailty and mobility issues, however the staff tried very hard to involve her. The care was very good, medication was prompt and she enjoyed the food. The manager is excellent with residents and relatives. Overall, a safe and secure environment with respectful and compassionate care.
After being diagnosed with terminal cancer, my father wanted to spend his final days in care so he could take the burden off us. Deeside was able to accommodate my dad despite his advanced condition at short notice and was exceptional throughout. Whilst, he was only at Deeside for 8 days before passing away, we felt comfort knowing he was being cared for in his final days. I would like to thank the manager and the Deeside team for all their care and compassion, it was much appreciated at a challenging time.
Our son has settled well at Deeside and enjoying the activities on offer. He is making a good recovery. after a long spell in hospital. We are so happy with the progress he is making. Our grateful thanks to all staff in all departments.
I visited Deeside Care Home whilst looking at care home possibilities for my uncle, who was in the hospital at that time. From the moment I met the manager, I could not have had a better experience. The management team were friendly and welcoming and made the transition from the hospital seamless. The staff have gone over and above to really help my uncle settle. This has been no easy task given he had lived independently until recently. Communication, as well as care, have both been excellent. My uncle is much more settled now, and I am very happy with Deeside Care Home. The facilities are lovely, and my uncle also enjoys the super meals. I am hoping that comes a time, he will join in with activities as I see a varied programme provided by hard-working activity coordinators. Thank you to everyone.
My dad had terminal cancer and was no longer able to stay at home due to coming to the end of his life and needing palliative care. I wasn’t initially sure about this, as I wanted Dad to stay at home and die. But after just one day at Deeside, I knew the right decision had been made! The staff and environment at Deeside are second to none! Dad spent a total of two and a half weeks at Deeside, being looked after by the fantastic and knowledgeable staff, leaving us as family members to spend quality time with our loved one without the worry of ‘caring for him’! We instead were able to share memories and stories. This wouldn’t have been possible without the confidence we had in the Deeside Care Home! We as a family couldn’t thank them or recommend them enough!
Mum required respite care and support following a severe fall, she wasn’t able to return home from hospital straightaway. We looked extensively across Aberdeenshire and after having a tour and meeting the care manager, we decided Deeside Care Home met our and mums needs. The staff team could not be more friendly, there is a wide and varied activity programme, the rooms are kept clean and the bathroom is a wet room. Deeside Care Home comes highly recommended and we have no hesitation in recommending this care facility.
My great-uncle moved to Deeside Care home at the end of February. What a wonderful place. Friendly staff and happy residents, lots of activities going on. What a great place to spend your twilight years.
A very clean and well-run nursing home which is constantly being maintained. Management wishes to provide the best and ask the families for their opinions and ideas. Activities are so difficult with residents of varying degrees of mental ability but there is a weekly activities programme providing a varied list of entertainment. New ideas are constantly mentioned to improve life for their residents. I can only thank that staff for their friendliness and support.
Disappointing that the care home does not meet the 5-star marketing claims. The overall rating would be between 3 and 4 if available. In particular, there is a lack of consistency in service levels.
Management are very approachable and are willing at all times to discuss any problems. Administrator is excellent and very welcoming. Most carers are very good but as always there are certain ones who are excellent but I am sure management are aware. There could be more interaction with residents, especially to those with dementia.
Our experience is very recent and after two admissions for respite and now as a permanent resident (dad has vascular dementia) the care and management and nursing care has been wonderful. Thank you. My Dad is safe and his care is always first. Information and communication always good, the personal contact means so much to us as a family. Dad is so so comfortable.
