View Full Details of Tor-na-DeeStaff are always smiling and have a great relationship with with my mum. The dimentia training they have makes a huge difference and they have helped me to better understand what my mum is going through. Friendly, caring, respectful and supportive. I don't think my mum could be in a better place!
Very impressed with Tor-na-Dee.
My mum moved into Tor-na-Dee in October 2024. The care she has received has been excellent. The staff are all so caring and compassionate to both my mum and myself. I am also, religiously, kept up to date with any doctor visits, or incidents with mum by the phone. I can't thank the team enough for the care they are giving mum.
I have had a good experience at Tor-na-Dee. The rooms and building are good. The staff are well trained and very helpful. The food is reasonable, the activities are good.
Satisfactory in all respects.
The level of care is good at To-na-Dee. The staff are caring and there are plenty of staff on site. The food is good. The activities are satisfactory. There are a few residents for my Aunt to chat to. The management is very good.
We are very happy with the care my Mum has received since moving to Tor-na-Dee in May 2022. There is a wonderful, caring atmosphere and the team of nurses, carers, and ancillary staff is led by a strong and responsive management team. Some of the furnishings are worn/tired but are to be replaced soon. Activities for residents are varied, innovative, and fun! The activity coordinators are excellent. We enjoy seeing what Mum has been doing through regular social media posts.
My mum has been in Tor-na-Dee Care Home for five years. The family have all been very happy with the way the staff care for my mum. The staff have a very difficult and stressful job. They look after my mum extremely well. All of Mum's needs are met. Nothing is a bother to any of the staff. They are friendly, caring, are aware of my mum's moods and help her through the difficult days. My mum is happy living there. She enjoys the food and joins in many of the super activities they lay on for them. No complaints about care which is the main thing. Some areas of the home look tired. I know this is being addressed.
Staff are very good and friendly, also very helpful to my mum.
From the moment I first visited Tor-ne-Dee I was impressed with the warm welcoming environment. I love the varied activity programme, shared with residents and family each week. On occasions when visiting my mother is engaged in an activity. Staff are happy for family to join in so feel involved too. The open door policy for visits is great for including great grandchildren as staff are so friendly. Staff work hard to involve residents and organise fun activities and maintain lifeskills - food is varied and excellent quality. Within 2 weeks of Mum being in Tor-na-Dee she looked 10 years younger and a lot happier as a result of the excellent care and attention. Great care for dementia progression.
I am full of admiration for all the staff who care for my husband with courtesy, patience and understanding. They are unfailingly polite and helpful whenever I ask a question or request something. My husband is always neatly dressed, shaved and looking comfortable in the home. I feel very welcomed whenever I visit. Top marks for them all.
Tor-na-Dee Care Home is in a league of it's own with regards to home care. The manager is very professional as are all the staff, you can easily see the bond between management and staff. The actual care staff are so very friendly and caring to all the residents. My wife has been a resident in Tor-na-Dee for 10 years now and I can't imagine her in any other care home that could be any better than where she is.
The care and support my dad has received has been excellent. The staff go above and beyond and communicate with the family regularly. The activities are varied and meet my dad's abilities. The rooms are spacious and ensuite and two large rooms in the unit. The food is excellent and Dad enjoys it.
After viewing Tor-na-Dee we knew this was the best place for our Mum, you could feel the warmth and homeliness as soon as you entered. Mum's time at Tor-na-Dee was unexpectedly cut short when she became very poorly, but there are no words that can express enough, the excellent quality of care she received from all the staff there during those 3 months. Mum had a lot of medical issues going on, the team, working alongside the local GP ensured she had the best medical attention and we were regularly updated. She built up so many friendships with the team that took care of her, and she cared for them as much as they did her, it was lovely to see and speaks volumes in itself. In her last few days they not only went above and beyond to care for Mum, they looked after the family as well. It was clear to see the genuine care they had for our Mum and we cannot thank them enough. The Manager and all her Team at Tor-na-Dee are a credit to Care UK.
My sister has been in Tor-na-Dee for twelve years. I have always found the staff very friendly and professional. My sister seems to have settled in very well. The care home always seems clean and tidy. Keep up the good work.
Tor-na-Dee has, over the past 10 years, provided my mother with nothing but first-class care. All staff, from the manager to the nurses and carers, are always very professional and always take the time to go the extra mile to ensure my mother is happy and comfortable.
Cannot fault any aspects of the care or facilities at Tor-Na-Dee. Importantly, there are always plenty of carers on duty who, in my experience, are very attentive and personal towards the residents. Communication from management is frequent and decisions made are in the best interests of the residents.
I have been impressed, above all, with the attitude of all the staff I have interacted with in the period (over a year now) my mother has been a resident in Tor-na-Dee. It's unfair to single any out, but the nurses on the staff exemplify the way that the individual needs of each resident are taken into consideration and with their excellent working relationship with the local GP practice it means I am sure my mother is as safe and as happy in Tor-na-Dee as she could be anywhere. I am aware that the period of the pandemic meant a reduction in the activities which would have been organised for residents, but I have appreciated that the staff have managed to keep residents active and engaged in spite of the restrictions. The recent Covid outbreak in the home is not a reason for criticism of Tor-na-Dee, but the opposite. Covid is still circulating outside and the fact the outbreak was brought under control so quickly shows that the protocols in place are working.
Excellent. My mother was quite unwell when she came to Tor-na-Dee over a year ago. She has also had a few periods which have caused the family worry. At all times her nursing care was exemplary. The GP who works with Tor-na-Dee is not only kind and attentive to her, but is also happy to explain her illness to the family. The manager runs a happy, tight ship - she frequently has her door open so families can talk to her. The staff are observant kind and caring and treat my mother with respect. I thoroughly recommend Tor-na-Dee and thank everyone concerned.
My mother has been a resident of Tor-Na-Dee for about 14 months. From day one I have been more than happy with the care she receives. The staff are, without exception, kind and friendly and never fail to say hello when I meet them during visits, even if I am just walking past them in the corridor. They also let me know, by telephone, of any concerns or incidents and let me know if there is anything Mum needs me to get for her. Medical care, when necessary, is quickly provided. Mum chooses not to participate in activities, but I see her regularly and she is content. As a relative, and next of kin, I receive regular communications from the manager updating me on anything which I need to be aware of. I know that regular meetings with relatives are held. I cannot attend as my wife is disabled and I am her main carer, but I am provided with a copy of the minutes. Perhaps most importantly, I have complete peace of mind with regard to the care my mother is receiving.
