View Full Details of Burnside Nursing HomeVisited Burnside Nursing Home to see my dad, who had just enjoyed his Burns (supper) lunch. The care and friendly banter from the staff towards all the residents is lovely to hear and see. And it's reassuring to know that he is being very well looked after.
My husband and I felt well cared for at Burnside and were made to feel most welcome by all staff at all times. A minibus tour was organised by activities coordinators the first week we arrived which allowed us to learn about the local area with some of the other residents. I felt everyone was supportive of my husband and his condition. Both carers and nurses always discussed issues and I felt that together we resolved issues in a proactive way. All staff were approachable, supportive and caring making me feel valued and part of my husband's care team. The care team at Burnside encouraged and mobilised my husband so much so that he was able to come home after I gained experience and confidence while working with carers. Thank you!
I feel my mother is well cared for in Burnside Nursing Home. I have just attended a quiz night with my mum, for fundraising. The carers are all very pleasant to Mum and will discuss any concerns I have about Mum and act on them.
Very happy with Mum's care - very good meals with choices. Mum is always clean and tidily presented, as is her room. Staff are friendly and will attend to Mum's needs. Activities offered are many and varied and now the weather is improving, residents are more often out in the beautiful presented garden. Staff know Mum and her likes/dislikes.
Excellent nursing home with wonderful staff who go "above and beyond" to care for the residents.
My mother was in for respite care and we could not fault the home. Her mobility was poor, urine infection and confused. The staff were outstanding. They took control of Mum's medication and got things under control. Working with the family concerns, they supported Mum to move and on leaving, her mobility was much improved.
My partner wasn’t able to understand that he needed care and so was resistant to help. The staff at Burnside Nursing Home treated him professionally, kindly, cheerfully and with the utmost respect. The huge support and friendship given to me as his partner made a difficult time so much easier. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Burnside.
The care and attention my mother got was truly exceptional. It was clear all staff were committed to making her as safe and comfortable as possible. The standard of communication amongst the whole team was really impressive. They could answer our questions fully and immediately. I would be very happy to recommend Burnside Nursing Home to any family.
Mum is being so well cared for in Burnside. All staff are friendly and approachable. Their kindness and encouragement have helped Mum to settle in and participate in a variety of activities. As visitors, we are always met with a welcoming, friendly attitude and know that she is safe and being treated with dignity.
The team at Burnside, and in particular, all individuals within the Scotston unit, looked after Dad for the three months between November and February. The quality of nursing and general care was exemplary. The staff always had time to chat when we visited to explain any changes in Dad's condition, and communicated effectively in a timely way by telephone when we requested updates. If anything did change, they were very proactive in contacting us. Dad was always made comfortable and was never anxious whilst in the care of the Scotston team. We could not have expected anything more from the entire professional staff team.
Both management and staff provide a caring, efficient service. Residents' needs are a priority, including an emphasis on the provision of a stimulating events programme, encouraging participation in these activities.
I am very pleased with the care Mum receives. Staff are always very friendly and helpful whenever we ask them anything. One of the main things for me, regarding Mum's care, is that she is treated kindly and I feel that she certainly is.
Burnside Nursing Home has been my sister's home for the last five years. I have been more than happy with the care and attention that she has received throughout that time. I live more than 100 miles from Burnside and am reassured by how she is looked after by the staff and how they compassionately keep me informed by telephone about her now that she has been bedridden for more than two years. The staff are always kind to my sister and all family relatives who visit her.
The care home staff have encouraged and enabled my husband to make visits home. These are very important for us as his stroke occurred while we were on holiday and home became a real goal that wasn't to be for everyday life. Support and encouragement has been there too for friends to visit and play guitar and sing together, another important thing for my husband as he was a performer. The recent quiz organised by the activities staff was much enjoyed and the subject of conversation weeks later.
I have found no issues with my father's care, he is given full attention and treated with full respect. When Dad first arrived he enjoyed taking part in most things and enjoyed an outing in the minibus. Bud sadly, he has lost most of his mobility and can't do this anymore. The staff have been very attentive in helping Dad as he needs more support. I feel he is very safe in this environment and I also have comfort knowing this.
My husband has been in Burnside for nearly two years and I have been very happy with the care he receives. It's a well-run home and they are all very attentive to his needs. He is always kept clean and I am kept up to date with his health and any problems are reported to me as soon as possible. I have not actually seen him do any activities, but the staff do try to involve him if possible. Whilst it can be difficult visiting dementia patients, I am confident he is well cared for.
The staff are extremely friendly and caring. Always willing to allow Mum's great-grandchild to visit her, which really makes her day as Mum plays games such as dominoes, cards etc. Was really pleased with the outings she has had and her sports day. She won a medal and a cup, which made me smile. I know that Mum is safe and has the best people looking after her.
My mum has been in Burnside care/nursing home for four years now. I cannot praise the staff, over that time, for the care they have given and shown her. During Covid, which was a very stressful and emotional time for everyone, the staff were fantastic and kept the residents safe. I take comfort that my mum s being cared for 24/7. Thank you.
Burnside Care Home is a home from home. The warmth of the welcome is amazing and nothing is too much trouble for the staff, like all the staff take pride in their work. The food is excellent and you have to be really fussy if you can't find something you can't eat. Management are very open and approachable which engages a good rapport with all staff. I would recommend Burnside to anyone.
Both my Mum and Dad have been residents of Burnside for the last +3 years. Sadly, Dad recently passed away and this caused me to stop and reflect on the quality of care provided by Burnside. Dad was so well looked after and it was lovely to see him develop such a strong bond with a number of the staff. I appreciate that ‘caring’ is what you do, but I feel that at Burnside, you successfully combine top-quality care together with compassion and a sense of fun – a great mix that creates a lovely environment for the residents. It was an environment/atmosphere which suited Dad down to the ground. Although this review was really prompted by Dad's passing, Mum, who recently celebrated her 91st birthday, is also very happy and content at Burnside. Thank you to all members of staff.
