View Full Details of Dounemount Care HomeManagement and staff team go above and beyond with the care and support of residents. Particularly appreciative to staff team recently on mum's 90th birthday. When myself and family couldn't visit due to COVID the staff went above and beyond to make this such a special day for mum. Such a joy to see mum so animated afterwards in giving us all the details about her special birthday.
A bright and clean home, spacious with a lovely atmosphere. Very welcoming. Provides excellent care with regular stimulation for the residents which is so vital for their wellbeing. the staff are excellent and very professional and attentive to the residents. Friendly cheerful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. I have seen quite a few nursing homes in various parts of the UK but not one of them comes up to the high standards of Dounemount Care Home. Happy and content residents. Highly recommended.
My mum has been in the care home for over a year now, we are delighted with the service, everyone is very approachable and friendly! It's always clean and organized. They do lots of activities with mum and she seems to be very settled and has put weight on since being there. We can't thank them enough for everything- keep up the great work.
My mother has been in Dounemount Care Home for just over a year now. In that time she has had the best care we could ask for, always keeping in touch with family by telephone when any changes in Mum's circumstances. Always doing activities each afternoon with singers, animal visits inside or outside and games to name a few. Or out in the community for lunch, shopping etc. Regular posts on social media which is great for her family who can't visit as often as they would like to due to them staying abroad.
My husband has only been in the home for approximately one month. However, I have noticed that the staff are very helpful and caring when dealing with the residents. It's always a nice atmosphere when visiting.
Dounemount Care Home have made mum feel so welcome and have gone out of their way to accommodate specific requirements. Staff have been friendly and approachable very much with a ‘can do’ attitude. Issues have been dealt with quickly and efficiently. Suggestions have been welcomed. In short, they have bent over backwards always with the resident's best interests at heart. And I can’t praise the activities and entertainment which is laid on highly enough. Lots of variety and something for everyone. Keep up the great work!
Great home with excellent, caring staff that are well managed. All residents treated with respect with their physical and mental well-being being met by staff that go the extra mile beyond their job description.
My mother-in-law has been a resident for over six years now and has always received excellent care. Staff are kind, caring and so very understanding. Family are always made to feel welcome when visiting and we are kept up to date with any changes or anything we need to know either in person or by phone. The home provides a comfortable and safe environment and the ongoing improvements are really enhancing the residence. The new manager has a real vision of how she wants the home to be and clearly wants the best possible for all the residents.
The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. I'm always kept informed about anything concerning my relative. It's a lovely atmosphere whenever I go and I'm more than happy with everything and the service they provide to the residents.
Since my wife arrived at Douinemout a year ago her physical and mental health have much improved. Weight up largely because she now eats well and adjustments to medication have improved her mood. A new manager has just been appointed and she is obviously determined that Dounemount – which was recently upgraded by the Care Inspectorate to 4s on all criteria – will undergo refurbishment on a rolling basis, with revamped communal bathrooms and redecoration of rooms already underway. Company Values are listed as being kind, passionate, trusted, respectful and inclusive. Dounemount is fortunate to have a stable workforce who form a strong, active team who all, in their different ways, engage well with the residents. All these targets are met and I have benefitted from feeling like one of the family as it has let me continue to play a part in caring for my wife - an important part of my coping strategy.
My mother-in-law has vascular dementia and has been cared for by the staff at Dounemount for almost two years now. They have shown her, and us, nothing but kindness in that time. My mother-in-law can show some challenging behaviour and her dementia is progressing quickly, but the staff are patient with her and keep us updated about everything regarding her care needs. Having a loved one in care is not easy, but Dounemount has made a very difficult time for us as a family as easy as it is possible to be. A special mention must go to one of their registered nurses in particular for her compassion and understanding.
My mother has been a resident for nearly four years and the care she has received has been excellent. The staff go above and beyond to help us as a family make my mother's life as enjoyable as possible. During this recent hot weather, they have prepared my mother to get out and about in her wheelchair so we can enjoy the weather with her. Nothing is too much bother for the brilliant staff. Thank you all.
My mother has been in Dounemount for 10 months now and is very happy there. The staff are brilliant with her and it’s lovely seeing their interactions. She celebrated her 90th birthday recently and they made the day really special for her. The entertainment is varied and often which my mother enjoys. She is well looked after, and well fed and it gives us peace of mind to know she is safe and comfortable.
From the minute you enter Dounemount you are greeted by friendly, happy staff, their kindness and patience are second to none and as a family member I can relax knowing my Mum is being well looked after with her dignity intact.
Lovely staff that are friendly and helpful. Surroundings beautiful and good wholesome meals. Lots of events are on for the residents including excursions, visitors and crafts. Would highly recommend a visit if you are thinking of using the facility.
After a difficult few years for our mother personally, she now feels very much at home in Dounemount. A warm caring approach is demonstrated by all staff who work there and is evident as they go about their duties. They use encouraging words when supporting Mum and are very responsive to her individual needs. Any unexpected medical needs are dealt with promptly and my sister and I are confident in the high-quality nursing care provided. Mum enjoys the relaxed environment in the recently redecorated lounge, where she enjoys chatting with her fellow residents and staff alike. The dining room experience, with very well set and presented tables, gives value to eating together. Mum enjoys sitting with her friendship group for meals and looks forward to selecting from the menu. The activities and social fund events give her the opportunity to have a laugh, enjoy a sing song and generally join in. Overall we are very happy with the care provided to Mum in this well-managed home.
My mother has been residing in Dounemount for almost a couple of months now and seems very happy and settled. She is always talking about how attentive the staff are and that nothing seems a bother to them. I visit regularly, at different times, and always seem to meet someone running about with a hoover or pushing a tea trolley. I, personally, find the staff very friendly and knowledgeable when asked about my mum's care or how she has been that day. At the end of the day, it is my mother who is there full time and she is very happy there, what more can I say?
My uncle has been in the home for several months now and I think he has settled well. The staff are very friendly and caring and seem to have a good rapport with him when I visit. He looks clean and tidy and always says he's doing fine. That's all you can ask for!
The nurses and carers at Dounemount are always going above and beyond for my Granny. Granny has good relationships will all of the carers and nurses and really enjoys staying in Dounemount. The recent renovations have made a huge difference and made it feel more homely. The staff were more than happy to set up a wee birthday party for Granny in October and allowed us to make special memories! We, as a family, always feel welcome when we visit and were welcomed in on Christmas Day to have our Christmas Dinner with my Granny in her room! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the residents and visitors!
To all the staff at Dounemount. My mum spent her last six months staying at Dounemount from April 22 till August 22. From day one mum was treated as part of the family. The staff were always cheery and smiling and went an extra mile every day nothing was ever too much trouble not only did mum receive excellent care she enjoyed many of the varied activities from concerts, outings, and garden parties she really had a ball. All I can say is thank you so much for making mum's short stay so enjoyable.
