Mum has been in Mowat Court now for five months and I can't imagine anywhere better for her in this locality. I visited several options before settling on Mowat Court and am very glad we did. Unlike the others, there was nobody here waltzing about in a suit with a clip-board. The emphasis is very much on the clinical care of the residents, and the staff are just superb. When mum arrived, she was in a precarious state, bed-ridden and requiring assistance with virtually every function. She was unable to hold a knife and fork and I'd been attending to her and feeding her since my father (who was her carer) had passed on. A few months later, mum is feeding herself and has even put on some weight. I have a photograph of her on Christmas Day where she is sitting in the lounge at Mowat Court wearing Rudolph antlers on her head and quaffing a glass of Pinot Grigio like she was a teenager! I feel fortunate to have mum here and the staff all feel like family - they are simply the best!
My mother has now been in Mowat Court for nearly 3 years. My family and I are more than happy with the care and service provided by the staff there. Any issues, queries or information we have had or sought have been dealt with promptly and professionally (there have been no major issues). The staff are approachable, knowledgeable and helpful at all times. Polite, courteous and down to earth as well. It is a great comfort for us to know that my mother is in great hands and is experiencing the best quality of life possible taking into consideration both her physical and mental health.
Great Carehome, friendly and attentive staff always on hand when we visit. Plenty of varied activities from dancing, baking to outings. Food is always of a very high quality and plenty of it if anything the potions are maybe in the large side. Decor is lovely and we were able add personal photos, bedding etc to the room. The lady in reception is extremely helpful and friendly, the staff we see every week are always pleasant and accommodating. There is absolutely nothing we can fault about Mowatt Court
My Dad has settled very well at Mowat Court. The staff are friendly and professional and nothing is too much bother. They treat the residents with respect. There is a homely atmosphere and when I visit it feels like I am visiting my Dad in his home, able to make us a cup of coffee and sit in the kitchen together. I have joined in with some of the activities , which the residents enjoy. I would recommend Mowat Court for people living with Dementia as it caters well for them, provide a safe environment.
We visited Mowat Court 3 times before making the decision to move Mum. The management made us feel so welcome and were always available to show us around at any time of day - even without an appointment. The atmosphere and friendly staff has made the decision to choose Mowat Court so much easier. The rooms and communal areas are nicely presented and cosy. We are so happy to be part of such a lovely environment at such an important time in an older person's life. Thank you.
Auntie feels very safe and secure in the home. All staff are lovely. Very caring.
The home is well run by a friendly team of carers who is always on hand to speak to. Since folks have moved in, they have settled in very quickly and love it here. The new manager is very informed and seems to run a well-organised home. I have been made to feel "part of the family".
I had a very positive experience, Mum is receiving great care. The staff are friendly and attentive. The home is clean and has a nice atmosphere. I would recommend Mowat Court.
My mother-in-law was admitted in lockdown from a Psychiatric assessment Unit having suffered from delirium related to her advancing dementia. Her presentation changed almost immediately due to the warmth, tactile and very positive interactions of the staff. They treated her with dignity and love. Throughout, their communication with us was excellent. Unfortunately towards the end of her stay, she required palliative care which was impressive, we took it in shifts to sit with her and unlike the hospital there was no limit on numbers visiting. During that time we got to know staff members well and I was moved by some who were genuinely upset and tearful at times. She was truly loved there and they became a family! My only issue might have been the delay of the GP service to set up a syringe pump; this was in no way due to staff omission. Staff went out of their way to make the end-of-life experience as comfortable as possible for my mother-in-law and us as a family.
Fantastic, all are well looked after, all staff are very friendly and kind, not only to residents but all visitors. I would strongly recommend this care home and staff.
Perfect all round.
I'm happy and cared for. The food is great. The staff look after me very well, I'm happy.
Very careful, great staff and cant complain. Lucky to be here.
Having been in the military for some considerable time (twenty-five years), I have learned to judge the character and ability of individuals of which I was connected. But seldom I have been in contact with a group that has impressed me as much as the staff and management of this care home. The conducted themselves with absolute professionalism, keeping a cheerful disposition in all activities and were forever ready to discuss any problems that arose. I thank them all for the kindly way they look after my wife.
Choosing to put Dad into a care home was not a decision we took lightly and it came with a great deal of anxiety. However, Mowat Court has proved such a godsend that we now wish we'd moved Dad in years ago. There is such a homely, caring atmosphere and every member of the staff is kind and helpful. Visiting Dad is a pleasure because he is so well looked after and so happy. I am greeted like a friend by the staff and I enjoy feeling like part of the Mowat Court family. I love that pets are welcome and that the garden is safe but large and mature. I keep threatening dad that he can go and live at my house and I'll take his room at Mowat Court!
My mum has been in the care of this fantastic facility/team for just over 1year. I have never seen her looking happier or healthier. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and there is so much for my mum to do/be involved in. Fabulous home / fabulous staff / fabulous management team.
My mother was transferred from the hospital by ourselves into the Mowat Care Home Stonehaven. Unfortunately, my mother passed not long after. However the care home was beautiful, and the staff there were excellent. The way they cared for my mum was 1st class, even on her passing, very approachable, helpful and polite and nothing was too much trouble for them. I’m sure if my mum was given time she would have thrived there. I would certainly recommend the Mowat in Stonehaven for relatives of elderly parents to be placed there.
Excellent home. Very good staff. Have been here approximately 8 years. All original and new staff, as stated, are very good. Been many places and other homes in Care UK group, plus given help in home - landscaping, growing grapes for wine and also tomatoes. Also enjoy the home cats, dog and budgies.
My mother has been at Mowat Court since March 2020 after having to leave her previous care home as the staff did not have the capacity to cope with her advancing, and at times, challenging dementia. Since admission to Mowat Court she has presented as very happy (in the main) and this is in no small part due to the caring and compassion shown by all staff. We are particularly impressed with the staff's attention to detail in that they read her cues, know her triggers and are very proactive in preventing further distress when she becomes a little agitated. The staff are warm, welcoming and communicate with us regularly when there is the slightest change in her care planning. This is a small unit so the staff know my mother very well. As a result, she relates well in return and her eyes light up when a member of staff approaches her. I believe these strong attachments make her feel safe and secure. In summary, we are grateful and delighted with the high level of skilled care.
I was delighted when we managed to secure a place for my mother-in-law at Mowat Court. My father had previously been a resident there and the staff were absolutely amazing at taking care of him. To my delight, there has been very few changes in staff and they immediately made my mother-in-law feel at home. While at home she had refused to eat, wouldn’t sleep in her bed and had become very despondent. Within the first couple of days at Mowat Court, she was eating, taking an interest in her surroundings and sleeping all night in a bed. This is thanks to the lovely staff, they’ve encouraged her and nothing is a problem for them. She seems to have taken a new lease of life and happily sits and plays scrabble and dominoes. I can’t thank the management and staff enough, the difference we have seen in her has been unbelievable and we are so grateful that she is now a resident there.
