View Full Details of Cathay Care HomeThe experience I have had with Cathay has been outstanding. All the staff are friendly and approachable. The manager and staff have always gone the extra mile, always visible and there to help. There are always lots of activities for the residents to take part in and always something going on and a happy atmosphere. When I leave after visiting I know I am leaving her in their capable hands.
Wonderful home, very pleasant and immaculate. Very pleased with how well my friend is being cared for. Staff go above and beyond. Nothing seems like too much bother. The new manager is fantastic, so warm and friendly. Very impressed with everything.
I moved my mother from a care home in England to be closer to me at the end of August. The entry process was very smooth, and since her arrival the entire care team have worked hard to make my mum feel welcome. The level of care and detail is excellent, facilities very good, and with all my dealings with management, admin and care/support staff they have been effective and attentive. I highly recommend Cathay Care Home.
My dad has now joined my mum as a Cathay resident. He wanted to go after a period of ill health and decline. He is 91 and a half and until a couple of months ago was completely independent. He is thriving again with the care given by the staff at Cathay. He, and the family, are delighted with the attention and daily care given. Mum's dementia is now well advanced, unfortunately. We appreciate the demanding care given after her hip removal has her confined to a wheelchair. If it had been up to the Doctor and hospital she would have been left lying in bed, wasting away. She now joins the other residents in to Day Room every day so is assured of interaction with others. Recent staff additions and stalwarts The management and the team have really turned Cathay around. Once the inevitable paperwork and house sale is completed our lives will also become a lot easier, with far less stress and relief in the knowledge that mum and dad are getting the care they deserve.
My friend has been a resident of Cathay Care Home for a while now. Has settled in well. There are always lots of activities on offer and although he does not take part in many they always ask if he wishes to. The staff are always friendly always smile and make everyone welcome. There is a lovely cafe where we can sit with friends and family. There have been a lot of improvements in the last few months and such a friendly atmosphere. The home organised a lovely family barbecue. Nothing is ever too much so glad we picked this home.
When my friend was admitted to Cathay he was in a very poor state of health. His health has improved greatly to the point where he eats well, doesn't sleep all day, gets up with assistance, and gets to the day room. This has all been possible because of the dedication and support of Cathay staff. My friend can be very difficult but the staff has shown extreme patience which benefits in his improved behaviour.
My Father has been a resident at Cathay Care Home for the past four months having suffered a stroke which left her without the use of an arm and leg. The level of care and handling was therefore required to be of a high standard with dedicated and experienced staff on day and night shifts. I can confirm that Cathay nurses and carers under good management supervision have been up to the task in every way on both day and night shifts and therefore my partner has retained her dignity and humour throughout her time at Cathay.
Mum has been cared for with kindness and respect. I can't thank the manager enough his kindness to my Mum and family has been so helpful considering how poorly she is. I really am delighted we made Cathay our mum's new home.
I had a very pleasant experience during a very difficult time in April. My mother required care suddenly and I didn't have a clue where to start. I was talked through the process by the Administrator who walked me around the home and introduced me to staff whilst I was shown around. The manager then asked all about my mother, talked me through the process ahead and signposted me to the social work team who were equally supportive. The overall feel of the home was nice and welcoming. She settled in quite quickly, which I did not expect, and she has made some friends which is a relief for me. They like to hang out in the garden when the slightest bit of sun is out. I can't thank the home enough, visiting has been unexpectedly enjoyable and any hick-ups immediately resolved without issue. Really glad I chose Cathay.
I have been visiting my friend here every week for several months now. I could not be happier with how my friend has become over this time. She has settled well. Live entertainment is a favourite of mine. I approve of relatives and friends being able to join in the fun. The happy atmosphere is contagious, everyone seems to love it. I look forward to the next afternoon's tea and entertainment.
The staff are lovely with mum and she clearly enjoys their care. It would be great if they were able to provide some activity time for bedridden residents like mum. Massage, story time or other planned activities. It seems there are no timetabled supports to cater for the social well-being of these residents. The fact that dad visits twice a day should not be the only support. Also, maybe dad would take a bit more time for himself if he was confident this was provided for mum.
I love coming to see my dad in Cathay Care Home, Forres, very well run and the staff keep us updated on everything related to my dad. Facilities are great and the residents are all so sweet and friendly. Took my two pups in to see my dad and the residents all loved it. Really fantastic surroundings. Overall. I would recommend this care home to anyone. 10/10.
New resident, with experience of respite care in other homes. Cathay Care Home is without a doubt the best of the homes of which I have experienced. Welcoming and ready to give assistance.
Helpful, cheerful and caring staff. Activity staff are very bright and imaginative. For those residents who do not need "mushy" food, it would be nice if vegetables were not left to boil the goodness away and the soup was not always pureed to be unrecognisable. Why not have a "spy-hole" in the doors to check on residents?
I visited my grandad last weekend and I'm so glad he's settled at Cathay. The home is lovely and the staff are so helpful. Would definitely recommend to anyone around the area looking for a home for their parents or grandparents.
My experience of Cathay Care Home is that the residents are cared for in a kind and compassionate way and treated with respect at all times. I have always found the staff to be friendly and attentive towards the residents and visitors. My mother has settled in well and enjoys the company of fellow residents and staff. She takes part in and greatly enjoys the activities particularly. I appreciate the weekly zoom call which I benefit from and Mum enjoys seeing us in person.
It's often important when choosing a care home to remember that your family member's 'capacity' will change over time. Cathay Care Home is a light, airy and ever-active environment, catering for residents' evolving needs - physical, mental and in terms of individuals 'spirit'. Management and staff are very much committed to this principle and do an excellent job of caring in often trying circumstances. The home is just that - a 'home' to the residents - where they can live actively with friends and good company. My own mum, in her 97th year, and despite her dementia, always has a smile on her face when engaged by the youthful activities co-ordinators. I'd recommend Cathay as a place where people are genuinely cared for and where they can feel safe.
My mum's dementia came on very quickly and the last few months have been really difficult for us. I can leave my mum knowing that she is safe and getting the best care. The staff at Cathay Care Home have made this possible, I can’t praise these guys enough or ever thank them enough. My mum is one of the most important people in my life and I trust every member of staff at Cathay Care Home, thank you all so much.
All staff, including the manager and receptionists, are very welcoming. My husband is looked after very well. Staff are very caring, could not fault them at all. It is a great comfort to me to know that my husband is very content and well looked after at Cathay Care Home. Not forgetting the activity ladies who are very good with the residents!
Each time I visit my friend I am impressed by the cleanliness, friendliness and efficiency of the staff. I've left blank ratings for those that I have no evidence for on my visits.
