View Full Details of Kingsmills Care HomeWhen we first visited my mum at Kingsmills we were met with lovely, friendly staff who could not do enough for us all, each time we visited we had the pleasure of meeting with various levels of nursing staff who were highly skilled and dedicated staff at all times their empathy was exceptional. We are truly grateful for mums care until she sadly passed away and even then there were flowers placed in mums room and lovely words to remember mum on her final journey, Thank you all for the love you shared with my mum. Truly outstanding.
I was giving my wife company while she visited her brother and chose to wait for her in a waiting area at the main entrance. One of the staff could see I was cold and made me a coffee with biscuits too. Although as I say just waiting the lassies were very kind to me on what was a cold day. My wife tells me her brother is well looked after which is a good feeling for relatives. Thanks to a caring staff.
I’ve been extremely happy with the care and support my mum has been afforded by the home. Staff at the home always go the extra mile to make sure my mum is well looked after and nothing is too much trouble for them. My mum had recently been admitted to the hospital for a couple of nights and during that time two of her carers visited her after their shift and in their own time. They were keen to check in on her and offer a familiar face and a hug. Their care, commitment and connection to my mum have been very much appreciated by me. It gives me peace of mind to know she is being well looked after and is in a home-from-home environment. My mum herself often comments very positively about the home and staff, and she enjoys blethering with the nurses and carers and having a laugh with them. I really can’t sing the praises of all staff high enough.
After leaving hospital, my dad was unable to continue living at home. Since moving into the Kingsmills his condition has stabilised and he seems much happier. Great, friendly staff and professional management. Thank you all for your hard work. It is appreciated.
So far so good, my dad is settling in well and seems happy. Would like him to get more confident in ringing for help. Staff are all very helpful and very easy to talk to, also I am more relaxed knowing he is in good hands which means I don't need to come in so often which is great.
My clients are well cared for and seem quite settled, happy and contented. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable about my clients and I am always kept informed about their care and any mishaps or medical issues. All staff are friendly and welcoming. If one has any concerns, the manager's door is always open to listen to concerns or suggestions.
My mum has been a resident in Kingsmills Care Home for around 4 years. She is well looked after. Staff are very friendly and they know my mum very well. They are really caring towards her and my mum is very fond of them. The staff also make my mum laugh which is very important for her morale.
I am very happy with the excellent care my mother has received and continues to receive. It is very reassuring to know that medical attention is readily available twenty four hours should the occasion arise. The staff are always friendly and willing to help.
My father was having a tough time living on his own with care workers calling four times a day. He had a series of falls and his property developed a leak making it dangerous for him to move around, especially at night. Due to the proximity to my own home Kingsmills Care Home was the first one I visited. Although my father had just been admitted to hospital the manager told me that a place was coming up shortly and that it would be kept for my father. I was so grateful for that help at that time. I have seen and talked to several staff members at the home and at all times they have always been kind polite and very helpful. Indeed the care that my father has received during his stay has been, in my opinion, second to none. This includes not only his daily routine needs such as clothing and feeding but also medical safety and general welfare needs are provided in a very professional manner. The way the home was managed during the Covid outbreak was exceptional.
The Kingsmills Care Home is an excellent 'home from home' and this has given us great reassurance as a family. We are able to visit Dad at any time and there are always very friendly and approachable staff on hand to answer any queries we may have. I do feel that each member of staff has come to know my father, and his needs, as an individual and this helps his levels of security, safety and contentment. The whole team's expertise and efficiency has helped to improve my father's physical health with prompt attention to any issues which arise and regular updates to us of the same. A wide range of different events and activities are available throughout the week, including outings and singing groups, which we feel are very beneficial to mental stimulation. We had been very anxious about and putting Dad into a home, however, choosing the Kingsmills Care Home was the very best decision we made at a difficult time.
My mother has been a resident of Kingsmills for several years. During this time, her dementia has progressed, and she has become less mobile. She requires much more assistance now, but the staff still treat her with as much care and attention as they did when she first moved in. Her changing situation and needs are constantly assessed, with steps taken to address them and keep her as safe and secure as feasible. I do not live near Inverness, so the staff are excellent at communicating with me by phone when matters are urgent or by email otherwise. I also attend Relatives' Meetings by video-conferencing. The manager and senior staff have been unchanged during the time that my mother has been a resident, so we have built great relationships together. In fact, all of the staff are caring and helpful, and I know that I can phone at any time if I have any concerns. My mother remains happy and content in Kingsmills, and I remain confident that she is receiving the best of care.
As always, our visit was good. My mother is happy and well cared for. The staff are well presented, polite and always got a smile for mother. I and all the family are happy with the care given to my mother.
The Kingsmills Care Home is an excellent facility with friendly, helpful, caring staff members. They are very well led by their on-site management and do appear to be a strong team who works together well. Communication from Kingsmills is very good and proactive with regular conduits for the exchange of ideas between staff and residents' relatives. My Parent's physical and mental health has improved noticeably during their 17-month residency and they feel safe and secure and treated as individuals. The medical supervision is very good with all medical attention being attended to efficiently with updates being given to family members. Kingsmills provide mental stimulation to residents through external minibus trips and internal activities. I feel this is a very important aspect of their care provision package. Kingsmills hold regular relatives meetings on-site and digitally and have also started training courses for such as dementia handling. This provides valuable insights to relatives.
My mother has been in this home for a year, and I could not recommend them highly enough. My mum has complex care needs and is receiving the best of care, better than other homes she has been in. The staff are professional, caring and extremely good at meeting my mum's needs. I visit at varied times, and my generally bedridden mother is always clean and comfortable. They always treat her with friendly respect, which is wonderful, given her dementia affects her personality in ways that make her not the easiest person to nurse. The surroundings are clean and homely, with nice gardens, the food is lovely, and where my mother is able, there are lots of activities. She can get her nails and hair done when she is able. Very professional and friendly management; it would be difficult to find a better home.
The staff are always excellent. Friendly, helpful, caring and efficient. The staff really do make the home welcoming and I am reassured that my relative is being well looked after and is cared for/important to them.
We are happy with the care that is provided. The care home manager and her staff are friendly, helpful, and approachable. Any issues we have are addressed. There are plenty of activities for those who want to join in. They celebrate all special events such as birthdays, Christmas, Valentine's Day, with decorations, parties etc.
I am very happy with the level of care my mum gets and everything is great. Staff get on well with my mum and let me know when she needs anything. All staff and the manager and deputy manager are fantastic and look after our loved ones really well.
My sister and I are in admiration of the way Kingsmills Care Home has looked after our dear mother. Although our mother has had difficult times in recent months she has, with the brilliant and professional help of the Kingsmills heroes team, been able to get through those difficulties. Staff during this worrying period were in no doubt exceptional during these difficult weeks. Our mother has now improved greatly in the exceptional care she has been given and she looks so very happy, very content, and she has regarded Kingsmills Care Home as her home for quite considerable time now. All of this is due to the manager and Kingsmills heroes for the excellent care they have given to her. My sister and I wish to compliment and congratulate all members of staff in their work. We are also delighted how our mother has been taken out on trips in the minibus and referring to social media pictures she has enjoyed these trips immensely and latterly her unforgettable boat trip onto Loch Ness.
This review was requested a month after my husband moved in. There have been teething problems of a practical nature, TV aerial found to be damaged, clothing lost (although clearly marked) someone else's clothing found on him, and in drawers (although all clearly labelled with another owner's name and room number). Initial attempts to help my husband to toilet involved a sling arrangement which was awful. The acquisition of a "Sara Stedy", as used in hospital, would be a good, less degrading, investment! Little wonder he chooses to crawl to the toilet! Menus I have seen seem varied. Afternoon snack with cake and additional selection of fresh fruit is good, but my husband certainly does not need to be given 4 biscuits mid-morning. If it's there, he will eat it, but not being active means it is not a good thing long term. These are only preliminary thoughts. The staff are great and have a lovely way with coping with my husband. All my concerns have been listened to and acted upon.
The staff at Kingsmills are caring and supportive of our family members. They worked incredibly hard during Covid to keep our relatives safe. The atmosphere at Kingsmills is warm and welcoming and a lot of thought goes into activities to engage with residents and give them some fun and laughter.
