View Full Details of Manor Care CentreThe Manor is a beautifully furnished, very well-run care home. For over a decade I, along with my wife, sister and late brother have been visiting my younger sister. The tone of the home is set by the outstanding manager. She is the quintessential leader! Leading from the front with genuine compassion and a relentless commitment to her staff and residents. The present staff are also excellent. They are very friendly, and welcoming and also demonstrate genuine compassion and a relentless commitment to the residents.
Grigor House has provided an ideal experience for my daughter. From the word go the manager took time to learn about her needs, so the care and support she is given really is personalised. I have found all the staff members to be warm, friendly, kind and talented individuals. It's a pleasure for my daughter and also for myself and other family members to go there. They have made such a difference to the quality of life of my daughter, I have watched her flourish there.
My son has been going to Grigor House for a number of years and he always says he enjoys it there, they have varied activities and have a walk about town when weather permits, play games and watch films, so he is always kept busy. He says all staff are always helpful and attentive.
A fantastic service. Great staff and a lovely welcoming atmosphere. My family member loves attending and enjoys the company of both staff and other service users. The service is very inclusive and always tries to listen to the views and wishes of attendees. Thank you Grigor House.
Dad just loves attending day care and the staff are really attentive and supportive and like to keep the family informed and engaged. This is especially important for me as I live further away. I'd highly recommend the day care services if people are looking for help for elderly family members.
My daughter goes to the Grigor Day Centre in Nairn 4 days a week. She has Down's syndrome. She loves all the staff and has lots of fun with them. She feels safe and looks forward to going every day. She also enjoys her lunches which are very healthy. I think the staff and the quality they provide for my daughter is excellent.
My son attends Grigor House Day Centre at Manor Care 2 days a week and he loves going there. Over the last 5 years with support from the Grigor House Staff Team, he has been able to participate in indoor activities, outings, outdoor games in the garden, and seasonal parties, all of which he really enjoys, but he is also able to relax for a wee while in the sensory room if he needs a little break too. The Grigor House Staff Team are professional, caring, and friendly, always welcoming everyone with a smile. Communication with staff is excellent. Very good range of activities on offer each day. I would highly recommend the Grigor House Day Centre.
We have always found The Manor, welcoming, warm and friendly. The staff genuinely care for the residents, on our last visit they had set up a 'bar quiz' in the coffee shop area, where many of the residents happily participated in the quiz, then having a good old-fashioned sing-song. This level of attention to the happiness and well-being of those who call this place home makes every visit memorable.
The Manor is an exceptional place to reside where every staff member consistently strives to provide the residents with faultless care and meaningful engagement. No matter their job title, the angels who work here brighten our lives. The units have a homely, family vibe where independence is promoted and support is freely available. Our surroundings are tasteful, well-maintained, safe and clean. Fun activities are frequently available, from quiz nights, artsy pursuits, summer barbecues, sing-alongs and bingo. The food is exceptional with a varied menu on offer. This magical place and the exceptional souls who serve here are capable of restoring a phenomenal quality of life to those who have their struggles.
Hi, I'm a long-time resident of the Manor Care Centre. I have no problems with the care I receive except the what has now become the normal 'lack of staff'. There's also not enough social interaction going on, though been trying to have a movie afternoon every Thursday with free popcorn and drinks in an area designated the Cinema Room. I also started a wee garden area but have had to refrain from keeping it going because of lack of staff to do the jobs I need help with. The staff we do have here are also all exceptional and try their damnedest to make it a happy existence. All the rooms are nice and can be furnished to your personal tastes the housekeepers keep them tidy and clean they will chat about general news and such like they also are willing to help in any way. The meals are very adequate, the cooks try to make meals that are exciting but it's down to financial restraint. The cook makes excellent cakes for special occasions.
Manor Care Centre is such a pleasant place to visit and to spend time with loved ones. I visited recently and instantly felt welcomed by all the lovely staff and residents in the home. There is an open feel to the place, I’m sure the staff must be very busy but weren’t too busy to help when needed and stop for a blether.
My daughter attends Grigor House two days a week and really enjoys her time there. She has learning difficulties and likes to play games, do arts and crafts, do gardening and all the other activities offered by the day centre. She loves the company and interacting with the other people who attend and also with the staff.
The atmosphere is entirely one of friendliness and helpfulness. The ambience is homely. I am glad to see my friend in such a supportive environment. It reassures me when I see her increasingly feeling at home in a pleasant environment with staff that are almost like family.
My niece is bedridden. I have nothing but praise for every aspect of care given to her. The staff are always pleasant and helpful and do all they can to take care of all her needs. They pop in to see how she is constantly and take other residents in for a short visit where appropriate. We are made to feel welcome when we visit. I cannot give high enough praise for what we have encountered during the time my niece has been in the care home. She has settled in and it feels like home to her. To see her happy means so much to me.
Amazing and wonderful staff. Lovely environment. Food first class. My husband loves visiting Grigor House. He enjoys the company and the activities. Highly recommend Grigor House. I know when I leave my husband there he is fulfilled and happy.
Our young adult son has been attending Grigor House day service for almost two years now and it has been wonderful to see him adapt so well to this really lovely, homely environment. The staff team are so kind and caring, always very friendly and genuinely seem to enjoy the hugely valuable work they do every day. The service is well-managed, communication is great and a lot of enthusiasm and effort is put into ensuring users enjoy their time here. There are plenty of activities on offer, both indoors and out with lots of opportunities for service users to interact socially and try new things. Staff are very supportive, sensitive and respectful towards the varied and individual needs of all and have created such a vibrant, happy, warm and welcoming haven. As a family, we have absolute trust and confidence that the complex needs of our loved one are fully met. We have no hesitation in recommending Grigor. It’s a wee gem of a place!
My daughter has attended Grigor House 4 days a week for almost 2 years now and seems to be very happy with the facilities provided. It is a safe environment with plenty of activities and outside space. All the caregivers are very helpful and understand the needs & wants of my daughter. Hopefully, the building work on the construction site adjacent to Manor/Grigor House will be completed soon and trying to park in a safe place is a nightmare and more or less impossible at times.
The Grigor House facilities are excellent, matched only by the friendly and professional team providing the service. The care provided is first class and enhanced by the superb communication and feedback from the team leader and team. Core activities are dependably good and the thought and effort that goes into providing additional seasonal activities is impressive. Great facilities and superb people. A service provision that truly instils confidence.
Have been satisfied for my dad who has been here for the past few years, to be cared for in this care home. Staff are professional and friendly. Have built up a close relationship with the long-term staff members. Staff used their own mobile phones to video call throughout lockdown when we were unable to visit. I felt more involved when I was invited to join friends of the manor meetings to discuss current situations within the home. I enjoy helping to raise funds which benefit our relatives. This was a big miss through the pandemic but has thankfully started again. Hopefully, the new mobile number will help, as on occasions, it was a distress not being able to get through. Overall, I'm happy, as my dad says he is happy.
We could not be happier for our sister to be cared for in this care home. Staff are warm and friendly and really make us feel so very welcome. We can see how hard they work as so many other residents to see to. We see them interacting so well and we know they care as we see it every visit. Phone calls be hard at times but staff always call us to keep us up dated. Even through the many lockdowns they have kept her safe and covid free. My sister is safe, has many complex clinical conditions and we are delighted to have her so close to home. She has a lovely ensuite room with lounge area. Large windows and a great day care centre she can attend.
