View Full Details of Blackfaulds House Nursing HomeMy gran has been a service user of Blackfaulds House Nursing Home for over a year and a half. Whilst she has been here, she has received fantastic care and she has been happy while being cared for. We love that the care home has met her needs and that she is cared for by such kind and considerate staff. Our family feels so lucky that she is receiving her best care in her most fragile years. I love being able to watch what my gran has been up to through the private social media group. Thank you to all at Blackfaulds for all that you do.
My gran has recently moved into Blackfaulds House Nursing Home. The staff are very professional, helpful, friendly and caring, ensuring the residents' needs are met at all times. We were especially delighted with the level of effort in love shown during my gran's birthday where they did go over and above to make it special.
Staff go way beyond the care of residents and are always happy and caring. Great to see my brother singing along with songs of his era and more. There are plenty of outings and entertainment indoors.
My dad has been a resident here for over three years now. Over this time his care needs have changed, the staff have always put the care of him as a priority and adapting things to make him more happy/comfortable. They keep us up to date as things progress. Other family members have been residents here previously and we could not fault the care they were given. I would have no hesitation in recommending Blackfaulds House Nursing Home to others. Keep doing what you do.
My friend has lived in Blackfaulds House Nursing Home for many years now and is very happy there. She has been out on trips and really enjoyed herself. The staff have a great relationship with my friend and you can clearly see the dedication they give their role. The home hosts great parties and we are always made to feel extremely welcome. Management is always available if an issue was to arise. Thank you all the staff for everything you do for my friend and other residents.
Blackfaulds House Nursing Home provides an excellent level of care. The activity programme is excellent and is tailored to meet the needs of all residents with varying levels of capabilities. They organise day trips to local attractions and there's an excellent programme of exchange visits to and from the village school. The children provide entertainment, pamper days and help with the gardening. There are also singers and musicians which the residents enjoy. They sing along and if they can have a wee dance. The staff are very professional, helpful, friendly and caring, ensuring the residents' needs are met at all times. They always keep Mum well looked after and try to keep her spirits up which can sometimes be a challenge. She's recently been very ill but with the care she's been given here, she's now back on track. The staff quickly realise when she is not quite herself, needs extra attention or geeing up. They have been supportive towards the family and we can't thank them enough.
Mum is well looked after. She was ill and still not herself. Due to the persistence of the staff, they discovered a deficiency in vitamin D which made all the difference. She is now back to her old self. There are lots of entertainment for them. They have parties throughout the year bringing residents, families and staff together. It is like an extended family.
My brother has now resided in Blackfaulds House Nursing Home for nine months, during which time he has received excellent care. Staff are diligent, patient and extremely caring at all times. Visitors are made welcome at all times and kept abreast of the excellent programme of activities designed to keep residents active, entertained and happy. I have the highest respect for everything that goes on in Blackfaulds. Thank you.
My parents went into Blackfaulds in May 2022. The staff are very supportive. They always keep me up to date on everything that is happening with health issues, trips. They have had garden parties during summer months, this includes family and friends. They have a good friendship with local schools. Staff and residents get visits through out term time. Also staff and residents have visited the schools. My Dad died in February 23. Staff were wonderful to our needs as dad died in the home while family were visiting for Mum's Birthday. Mum is still there. She enjoys dancing and singing. The staff are great and easy to talk to.
My dad who sadly passed away in April had been living here since September my mum was already here since January 2021. Blackfaulds is bar none the best nursing home. My mum and dad had the very best care they could have wished for and the love and respect the staff show to all residents is unsurpassed. It is a true team and genuine work-family atmosphere. I could never recommend this wee home highly enough and will always be grateful for my mum and dad's happy days there.
My grandmother has dementia and has been living at Blackfaulds for 3.5 years now. She is cared for with dignity, love and respect and this has been demonstrated even more so with the way the team have handled her end-of-life care. As a family, we have been embraced by the Blackfaulds community with compassion, especially during the difficulties that come with end-of-life care. On a day-to-day basis, the atmosphere at the home is jolly. There’s a great variety and quality of food for residents and the cleanliness is impeccable. A lot of effort goes into planning a range of fun activities throughout the year, which family members are encouraged to participate in and this enhances the feeling of community.
Both my mother and good friend have been at Blackfaulds House Nursing Home in the past and now my husband, who has Alzheimer’s. I was so pleased that a room became available for my husband. I know that he is being cared for very well. All the staff are brilliant, so friendly and caring. The family and I are always kept informed of any issues. The social media group keeps us up to date with activities etc. and it is lovely to see the residents enjoying themselves. My husband has put on weight since he arrived and looks so much happier. Thank you to all at Blackfaulds. I would definitely recommend you.
My husband has complex needs, both physical and mental. My review relates to his care which is excellent, given his often challenging behaviour. The staff go above and beyond in trying to include him in day-to-day activities. They also are hugely supportive towards myself, and I value this very much. I am able to talk to staff about my difficulties in coping with his behaviours. It really is a family where everyone is supported by those who work tirelessly to improve the well-being of the residents. I am so glad that my husband is in this home!
Very happy with the staff and the level of care given to my mum. The staff take the time to get to know their residents which helps to identify any changes in behaviour which can lead to catching minor or potentially major health issues. They always keep Mum happy and well looked after. Always very friendly and helpful to the relatives of their residents also. Overall, very happy with Blackfaulds House Nursing Home.
My mother-in-law has dementia and has stayed here for five years. The manager and all the staff are amazing with her, talking or singing with her, making sure she is happy and helping her to eat well at meal times. Her room has been recently decorated and is homely with family photos, her chair, TV and personal things. She has her own en-suite bathroom with a shower. The cleaner and the laundry lady speak to her when they come into her room. They make sure her room is clean and tidy. Her clothes are washed & ironed and put away. The activity coordinator and all the staff make sure there are lots of entertainment provided on a daily basis. Arts & crafts, cooking, baking, gardening, bingo, singing, ball games and entertainers such as singers visit the home on a regular basis. A hairdresser comes in monthly to cut her hair and the staff paint her nails. My mother-in-law is always clean and well-dressed. She is very happy and feels safe at Blackfaulds Nursing Home.
My friend is a resident of Blackfaulds. It's a pleasure when I visit, the staff are always so friendly my friend always looks happy and well cared for. Every time I have visited there have always been activities going on. The home is very homely and very clean. My friend's room has been decorated to his liking and is very nice indeed. If I need a care home in the future I would definitely want Blackfaulds, it's home from home.
I am so grateful that my mum was given a place at Blackfaulds. The care she receives is excellent and the staff are like family both to her and us. She is so well cared for and her every need taken care of. She has always been cared for with great dignity and love and now that she is reaching her final days, this is more apparent than ever. We will never be able to thank the staff enough. Communication is excellent, food, service, care of her clothes and cleaning are all first class and there is a great sense of community. Thank you to all the staff.
Blackfaulds is the best caring team in the world. My mum has been here for a year and the care she receives is outstanding. My family are so glad we chose Blackfaulds House. We are very content knowing Mum is so well cared for.

My dad has been in Blackfaulds since last year and his needs are complex, having been diagnosed with MS and dementia. He is bed bound, unfortunately, but the team at Blackfaulds always include him in activities. They are patient, caring and work so hard to provide an excellent standard of care to all residents. The home is very safe and friendly and I feel like my dad is treated as a person, not just a number. It has made the past few months much more bearable knowing he is being so well looked after.
