View Full Details of Middleton Hall Care HomeMy sister moved into Middleton Hall in November 2023. After a couple of months she settled in. She loves when staff go past her room and always say hello. Every member of staff, management, reception, carers, nurses, kitchen, laundry, cleaners, activities, maintenance, volunteers, (hopefully not missed anyone) have all been fantastic. I'm glad we picked Middleton Hall for my sister. The grounds are well kept. The activities team always make us feel welcome. We'll done everyone.
It's been 5 years since my wife came to Middleton hall, and in that time there have been many changes, mostly for the improvement of services and personnel. We have a well run garden with lots of seating areas which my wife adores, can't get her inside on sunny days so the staff give her meals outside periodically. She takes great delight just watching the rabbits and squirrels. There's an entertainment area in its own building we have called The Wee Hoose, there we have games activities singing and on occasions entertainers come to visit and give concerts, tea coffee cakes and light refreshments are always on hand for residents and their families. This is probably the most worthwhile part of the care home as it brings together all residents and families.
Our father has had the best care possible in his year of residency in Middleton Hall, as a family we want to thank all staff for the wonderful work they do day in and day out ensuring all the residents are looked after like their own family members. The care and commitment to both the resident and family members are so comforting and appreciated. As a care home, I would rate this as one of the best in West Lothian.
Due to her poor mobility and lack of suitable social care, Mum decided to move into a care home. We visited Middleton Hall and immediately felt that this was a place where Mum would be happy. She moved in August 2022 and settled in really quickly as all the staff made her feel so welcome. She is really happy and constantly tells us how lovely the staff are and how kind and considerate everyone is. The Smile Centre deserves a special mention as they provide activities and entertainment to the residents. The staff are always so happy and ensure that all the residents are included as the variety of activities means that there is something for everyone to enjoy. Recently Mum celebrated a milestone birthday and the staff pulled out all the stops to ensure that she was able to go out to a family celebration and she also had a party in the home too which residents and family attended. I’m sure Mum will spend many happy years living in Middleton Hall as it’s given her back her zest for life.
Since my Dad has gone into care I can't thank the staff enough you guys do an amazing job. The smile centre is a blessing for all the residents, keeps them all entertained. The care team on all the shifts are also spot on with my dad as well, they are good for a laugh and very professional. Would also like to thank the nursing staff as well. Keep up the good work I hope I've not missed anyone out. Big thanks from all the family.
The care received by my mum-in-law has been great. She sometimes suggests that she can be a little lonely, but the activities provided by the Smile Centre have been invaluable. Ladies go above and beyond. Thank you
My Gran has been at Middleton Hall since October 2021 and very quickly become a beloved resident and gets on well with everyone, despite her cheek! She is remarkably well cared for and loves it at Middleton Hall. It's like being part of a big family and everyone looks out for her. Her daily visits to the Smile Centre are the highlight of her day and she really misses it when she can't go or it's not on. She gets on great with the staff there and they know her so well and make her feel comfortable. It can be daunting, especially for those with dementia to be in new surroundings and with new people, but she doesn't feel like that. The array of activities and events that are organised for the residents is amazing, there is always something to be involved in! It's clear that her carers care deeply for the residents and we are so grateful to all the staff for all they do for her - she is so happy there.
Mum has been a resident at Middleton Hall since the end of April 2022. She has understandably taken a while to settle as it is a huge change for her. I am extremely pleased with the care she receives, the staff are all very nice and keep me updated with Mum's progress. The attention that she has received from the staff at the Smile Centre has been second to none. As someone with severe hearing loss, she was struggling to communicate and sometimes felt quite isolated. The girls have tried various different things to make her feel included and I feel I am seeing the benefit of all their efforts. The Smile Club is a great asset to Middleton Hall and all the residents.
Peaceful surroundings and lovely staff make this a really pleasant place for the residents, and visitors too. The activities arranged for the residents and carried out by the girls at the Smile Centre make it such a relaxing place to visit. Well done everyone.
My mother has been a resident at Middleton Hall since March 2021. She settled there quickly and easily and is happy there. She feels safe and well cared for and is full of praise for the staff. In particular, she enjoys the broad and imaginative range of therapeutic, social and recreational activities provided by the Smile Centre's passionate and energetic core team with assistance from a group of volunteers.
Very helpful friendly and efficient staff who treated me with dignity and respect. Nothing was too much bother. The home was very comfortable and had a real family atmosphere. I would return when I need respite again, and I would recommend it to others.
I’d particularly like to thank the team at Middleton Hall for the video call sessions they arrange - it’s such a treat as I live so far away. Mum had a lovely time over Christmas and I felt the staff went above and beyond to have lots of Christmas activities
My mother is so happy there as she now has companions every day. I realise now, that trying to keep her in her own home was not the correct thing to do. All the staff advise me that she is so happy helping with cleaning and loves the activities that she can get involved with. She has a disability the care home have never had before and she is ‘teaching’ the staff which they say is very interesting! I would recommend Middleton Hall to any other person who is struggling to find a home for their loved ones.
Two members of staff, in particular, have been wonderful in helping me connect with my mother during these difficult times, and seeing my mother smile and laugh has given us all a much needed boost. They have been very good at keeping me up to date on what’s happening during these difficult times.
Can't thank staff enough for all the support they give to my wee gran and other residents, they are so good to them. Can't thank them enough for organising a wee group of people, like my gran, who don't handle busy places. Thanks a lot girls. Keep doing what you are doing.
My mum went into Middleton Hall in April this year (the day after her 102nd bday). Both mum and I were very apprehensive about her going into care but she was becoming distressed when left alone in her own home. Within days at Middleton Hall she had settled in and was happy to be there with such caring staff and residents for company. The Smile Centre with two wonderful activities coordinators were key to her enjoying life in the care home and I can’t thank all the staff enough for the care and attention she receives. Has put my mind at rest knowing she is being so well looked after and entertained.
My mum sees Middleton Hall as her home now, and we as a family are always given a warm welcome by all staff when we come to visit. I’m also in the fortunate position to be able to volunteer at Middleton as an art ‘teacher’. I, therefore, get to spend more time with Mum and her friends.
My mum has had exemplary care by all the staff at every level. Medical needs have been handled promptly and thoroughly. Her room is lovely and kept extremely clean. Her personal care is carried out with kindness. The Smile Centre is a massive asset for my mum’s care. The staff are interested, attentive, caring and fun. The activities are varied and thoughtfully planned. Family members feel so welcome and valued. I could not be happier with my mum’s progress since she moved in in May 2021. She is trying activities that she would otherwise have never attempted. Thank you to everyone for giving us peace of mind.
Mum was fading away, was down to 8 and a half stone and she was always a big woman. After all 2 and a half years she is back to over 11 and a half. She has her down days (COVID related) but will tell you she is really looked after well. She loves all the entertainment they have and is kept busy. She loves all the staff, she has her favourites and she wouldn't say a bad word about the home. We have had family friends saying if they had to go into a home, they would choose Middleton Hall Care Home.
My husband was a resident until 10 November 2020. He was diagnosed with dementia and Parkinson's and was taken in by Middleton Hall Care Home in January 2020. In the almost 11 months he lived there I can honestly say that he was well taken care of and looked after very well. He joined their activities and was happier than I could make him at home with me. I received plenty of photos of him smiling and laughing during their activities which were wonderful to see.
