View Full Details of Camilla House Care HomeVery pleased with the care my husband has received at Camilla House. All carers assist my husband when required and now help with his meals. Reviews on his health are regularly carried out every six months and go into lots of detail about his well being. Activities are very good everyday although my husband is not able to take part.
My father was a resident at Camilla House in Edinburgh for three years. During that time the staff demonstrated extraordinary kindness and compassion to my dad and to us as a family, at all times. When the time came for him to set off on his next adventure, the staff on duty were truly incredibly and made the experience one of calm and care. There is nothing they could have done differently. We are forever indebited to them for this. Thank you for everything, Camilla House team.
Our dad is happy and settled at Camilla House Care Home, and he is well cared for. The settling in process was smooth straightforward. The staff are very friendly and are attentive to our dad's needs. They keep us well informed. The food is good and there is lovely home baking most days. The nursing staff are in regular contact with the local GP as required. The management team are very approachable when needed.
Pleased to write a review here with regards to Camilla House Care Home and the lovely staff. My father-in-law arrived at the home straight from the hospital in June 2024. The Camilla care staff made everything very straight forward for my father-in-law and us as a family. He loved the food, which was great as he lost a lot of weight in hospital. He liked joining in all the activities and watching the world cup was one of his highlights (being an avid football fan) and playing bowls and singing. Sadly my father in law passed away in December with his dementia and other health problems but it is lovely to know as a family that his last six and a half months were enjoyed by him and his care was excellent.
Camilla House Care Home has a warm and welcoming atmosphere as soon as you step in. The staff are excellent displaying care and attention to my mum and got to know her quickly. She has enjoyed and engaged in the wide variety of activities and events provided by the home and benefited from these. I am delighted that my mum is in such a safe and nurturing home at this stage in her life.
Camilla House Care Home is a very friendly, warm and safe environment. The staff have been there for a while and this helps continuity. They are able to build up relationships with the residents and give them the support that they need. There is always various events/activities on that help stimulate the residents especially from some wonderful dedicated team members. The communication is great and works both ways. My father has greatly benefited from being cared by these people.
I am very happy with the care my husband receives.
My Mother has been in the care home for over a year, she enjoys singing, and the meals are very good and all made fresh with home baking most days. The staff are very good and helpful. Should my Mother need to see a doctor or hospital visit the office staff and carers sort it out and a member of staff is always with her. Should my Father be here at lunchtime he gets a meal. Overall I am very happy with the service and care my Mother gets.
Pleased to see that care staff at Camilla Care Home have been able to maintain a high level of attentive care. All staff are very approachable and engage well with my loved one and other residents. Absolutely no regrets about my loved one residing at Camilla where I have no doubt they’ll continue to provide the best of care.
My sister is well cared for and her needs are met. My sister is very happy with her new home and settled very well. All staff are excellent in their individual role. Staff are approachable and always someone there if needed to discuss any issues. The facilities are good with lots of well-being and fun activities and planned outings that my sister participates in and enjoys. The food is also excellent and always snacks and fluids are available for all including visitors. I can have a meal with my sister if I choose which is great social interaction to be able to still dine with my sister. The home is warm and creates a lovely ambience for residents and visitors, it is clean and well-organised. Credit to all staff including management who put so much time and thought into arranging special events for residents and family to enjoy. I would highly recommend Camilla House to friends and family. My sister is very happy and that gives our family peace of mind that she settled so well.
I’ve seen a significant improvement in my mum's general health and mental health following her move to Camilla House in early 2023. Mum seems to be very settled at Camilla and enjoys the support of the friendly and professional staff.
My husband was in this home for ten months, till his death on 26th July. We were partly helped to pay by the council, as far as I know the full amount was paid. The room was very small and stuffy. Window looked out onto a roof. The bed was hospital style. He wasn't given a top sheet and blanket, I noticed other residents were. He used a throw I took in on the bed. When I asked, I was told they would give him a summer duvet. He had one for two weeks, then back to the throw. I bought two duvets and covers. First one disappeared, second one I put on the bed myself. Two weeks later, back to the throw. I was never given a satisfactory explanation for this.
My mother has been in Camilla House for two months and the staff are very good with her. She also likes the home cooked meals and baking and enjoys the sing-a-longs with one staff member. The home is clean and tidy with a nice garden to sit and relax.
My husband came to Camilla House Care Home from hospital where they had been unable to get him out of bed and he had lost two and a half stone in weight. He now walks from his room through to the main lounge and dining room with the help of two carers and is up all day. He enjoys all the food, eats well and has gained some weight already! We are all very pleased with this progress.
Cannot do enough, for the people in Camilla House nothing is a bother. Lots going on for everyone, so many activities for all and Church service is good. All food really lovely, also cake and tea. Residents get birthday cake. Also, I would love to think, when my time comes, Camilla House would do for me. Keep up good work staff, fantastic.
I am so happy my sister and I found Camilla House Care Home tucked away in a beautiful residential area in The Grange, Edinburgh. The professional care and kindness the staff give my mum is amazing. My mum has been there for two weeks and is already settled and very happy. Such peace of mind for all her family. Thanking you all.
My friend, who I have POA for, has been very happy at Camilla House Care Home. She is well cared for, clean, has good food and the staff are attentive. She appears to have activities in which she joins in with. Under Covid restrictions, visiting has been as easy as possible. I'm confident she is well cared for and she is able to enjoy this stage of her life.
I think this is an outstanding care home, it is well-managed and the staff are very positive, patient and loving in their style of working. Really they are very good. They demonstrate tremendous respect for the residents, affection and also efficiency in the conduct of their tasks. They have the right attitude of reverence and respect for elders. They are a credit to us all.
Very good care and clean. Good food.
Staff and management are very welcoming, very good people.
