View Full Details of Gilmerton Neurological Care CentreExcellent care throughout. My son is happy and cheerful each visit. All his needs are well met and he is treated with respect. The staff are very friendly and they certainly go that extra mile. Would I recommend Gilmerton Neurological Care Center - absolutely - every time.
Our son has improved since his admission to Gilmerton Neurological Care Centre. He is more communicative, his mobility has improved with all the physiotherapy he is receiving. What an improvement from his last placement. We are very happy with our son living at Gilmerton.
I have nothing but admiration and praise for each and every one of the team at GNCC, for the tender loving care they provided my wife. Sadly, my wife passed away in May this year, and I've been told that her presence is missed in the home. We talk about people being part of the family, and don't always get a real sense of what that means, but within GNCC, the staff and the residents do become friends, and love each other like a family, it's beautiful. Thank you for everything you do each and every day.
My partner has recently moved into the NCC at Gilmerton after a long stay in hospital. The whole process from being visited by staff from the NCC prior to admission then discharge from hospital was straightforward and easy. The staff have been very welcoming and understanding of his various needs. They have given him time to settle and have not overwhelmed us with information. He has been seen by the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist who will create a program for his continued rehab. Every member of staff we have spoken with has taken the time to introduce themselves and have all been very friendly, approachable, welcoming and understanding of my partner's difficulties and happily remind him of their names when he forgets. We are looking forward to starting the next stage of his continued recovery and working with the team who I am confident will help and support us every step of the way.
My mum started here in January, I was nervous about this to begin with but as she settled in I became more confident. The staff were very reassuring and they built up amazing relationships with me and my mum. I feel that this is the best place for my mum to be as they have so many activities for my mum to participate in. My mum is really happy here and has now settled in.
All the staff are very helpful and lovely. My brother has been well looked after and made fantastic improvement. Always happy with his care and really likes his room. I wish my brother could stay here as long as needed to continue making improvements. Thank you all very much for everything and giving such great care. Five stars from me!
Anytime I visit, no matter what day it is or time it is, the staff are always really welcoming, happy and chat away really welcoming, happy and chat away. There is always a nice atmosphere and you can tell all the residents are happy and well looked after and all their needs are met. My brother is happy and has come on so much since being in the home. Myself and my family are very happy with the way he is looked after.
A five-star hotel. Very friendly staff. Always something going on. Staff interacting with residents. Very well run. Clean, friendly and homely atmosphere. All I can say is well done, keep the good work up.
Gilmerton Neurological Care Centre is very close to being excellent all-round. The staff, managers, carers and office staff are very helpful and supportive, extremely welcoming to visitors too. Everyone is consistent in all aspects in my experience. I recognise they struggle with ongoing problems using their on-site mini-bus on occasion.
I am very happy with Gilmerton Neurological Care Centre, my mum is so happy, she gets a very high standard of care. She is always clean, tidy and happy. The activities are fantastic, my mum was so busy in December with panto, out for Christmas lunch, out to see Christmas light, Christmas party, Christmas jumper day and lots more. My mum now goes out to a volunteer job role. She is so happy as she thought after her stroke she would never work again, this has improved my mother's concept 100%. All my family are so grateful to the staff and management at Gilmerton Neurological Care Centre.
Our son has been a resident here since 2013 and there have never been any problems in that time. All the staff are lovely and so dedicated and can be approached at any time. Always kept informed on how our son is, whether it be he's had an off day or how his physio is going. There's always laughter, a super atmosphere, great care home.
Great care home, staff are always helpful and caring towards their residents and their relatives. The variety of activities for residents is great and always very well organised. The home is always clean. They share pictures of residents with relevant permissions and this is a great way of allowing family members to see how their relatives are doing when they are unable to visit the home.
Dad has been at Gilmerton Neurological Care Centre for twenty-plus years. He has always seemed very happy and content with living here. His needs are met and are well supported by staff. Staff are also very good at informing family as and when any updates are required, particularly during the challenging period of Covid-19. We as a family are very happy Dad is here and can't thank the staff enough for the support they provide.
I was a resident at Gilmerton Neurological Care Centre; when I came in I was a proper state. Through care, attention, structure, routine, rehabilitation, activities and therapies; 6 months on I've managed to leave under the home's guidance and have been reintegrated back into the community. Gilmerton Neurological Care Centre has helped me recover my individuality and self-identity. Throughout my stay, I was not only treated with respect and dignity but helped to the degree I needed as my needs required. I couldn't have done it without you, Gilmerton Neurological Care Centre thank you so much, I love you all!
Excellent care home. My son is always happy. Fantastic staff. Never had any problems.
I cannot express my deep gratitude for the unbelievable level of care and dedication shown to my sister and myself, right up until the time of her death - and beyond.
My friend is in the Neurological Centre. Since her admission, I’ve noticed a marked improvement in her condition. The staff really care and treat her as they would a friend. I have nothing but the highest regard for all the staff who look after the patients. They often do more than they need to and I thank them from the bottom of my heart for making my friend happy.
I am blown away by the friendliness of the staff, how well my mum is doing, and the overall feel of the home. I have never seen my mum so content and happy. She has formed close bonds with the staff and loves being in the home. I cannot praise this home and the wonderful staff enough. They were so accommodating to me, and I instantly felt welcome and at ease in the home.
Mum's care has been second to none. Staff are clearly passionate in their care for residents and I have only seen them treated with dignity and respect. Staff have put a lot of effort into mum's rehab to a point where she is now able to return to the home environment; a point we never thought would be reached throughout the journey. GCH and the Wilson Unit have succeeded where specialist rehab hospitals didn't.
I found the home to be reassuringly secure without being oppressive. Staff were very welcoming without losing the core person-centred care. The decor was fresh and inviting and all other service users were open, friendly and appeared very comfortable and stress-free.
