View Full Details of Lorimer HouseMy wife has been living with Alzheimer's Dementia for more than 6 years and I cared for her at home as I thought that would always be best. My health was suffering as a result of disturbed nights and the stress of caring for her 24/7. After discussions with the family, social worker and her doctor, we decided that the time had come for her to receive full-time care in a nursing home. Lorimer House provides the care she needs. The staff are excellent and provide personal attention as and when required. The individual rooms with ensuite bathrooms ensure she has privacy whilst the shared sitting room and dining room allows her to interact with other residents. The Home is well maintained with high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. My wife has settled in well and seems very happy with her surroundings and the level of care she receives. For my part, I am relieved that she is relaxed and content, and I am confident that she is in safe hands.
We have just enjoyed a fabulous Christmas afternoon tea which was very much enjoyed by all. Mum really enjoyed herself and it was so nice to sit together as a family. The care home has been beautifully decorated and the staff are happy and helpful.
A huge thank you to all the staff for the delightful Christmas high tea, prepared for my mum and her visiting family and friends. It was delicious, beautifully presented and very much appreciated. Our mother has received excellent care within the Lorimer setting. The staff are extremely welcoming and caring and I particularly enjoyed seeing the gentle encouragement given to my mum to participate and enjoy a dance with staff at the Christmas party. We would like to thank all the staff for their continued hard work, warmth and cheerfulness. We appreciate your efforts every day.
My mother has been living at Lorimer House for over two years. There has been continuity for many of the staff over that period of time so they get to know the residents and understand their needs and moods. The staff are cheerful, patient and caring. The care home is always bright and welcoming with the garden a huge asset.
We enjoyed a delicious and lovely annual Christmas festive tea with our mother this morning. It was very special to spend time with her in a festive setting. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. As always, there had been a lot of attention and care taken to provide a lovely experience we could enjoy together as a family.
Visited for festive afternoon tea on 4th December to celebrate with Mum. Everything was delicious and the room was decorated lovely. As always the staff have gone above and beyond to make the experience special. Thank you.
The overall care and attention is first class and is greatly appreciated by family. Meals are excellent and the variety of activities stimulates the residents and the outside visits are looked forward to.
Absolutely brilliant high tea. Food tasted amazing! Well done to the catering, can't fault it. Staff are always very caring and friendly. Place is always clean and very well maintained. My mum is always well cared for.
I attended Lorimer House yesterday and was delighted to find that 'Cool Creatures' was also visiting, showcasing a variety of small animals. The session with the visiting creatures was superb, delivered in a very calm and relaxed atmosphere. They showed incredible respect for all residents, as well as understanding of any individual needs. It was lovely to see residents' responses to the event: delight, interest, generation of questions, care for living creatures and sometimes having a try at something out of their comfort zone. Additionally, I was welcomed with warmth, and treated with wonderful professional friendliness by all staff throughout the duration of my visit. My time in Lorimer yesterday was an extremely positive and memorable experience: first-hand witness of residents and visitors being treated with high levels of care, compassion and respect whilst being treated to safe, first-hand encounters with some rather unusual creatures. I left Lorimer with a spring in my step.
Our mother who is approaching her 102nd birthday has now been in Lorimer House, Juniper Green for about 18 months. During all this time we have been very impressed by the complete care that is given not only to the residents but we also feel as Mum's immediate family, my sister and I are cared for as well. Everything is always immaculately clean and the outside gardens are beautifully cared for The outside space is very important to Mum and the other residents. many diverse entertainment and activities are organised with quite a few including family members. A happy place!
Our mother has now been a resident of Lorimer House for more than one year. She was over 100 years old and becoming too frail to stay safely in her own home. We were attracted to Lorimer House when looking for a care home as it is a such beautiful place and obviously kept to a very high standard. We now also know and appreciate just how caring every member of staff is. Their skills are obvious and added to this they are all so welcoming and friendly when we visit. The extra effort put into several special events has added to our whole family's experience. To mention only a few there was a wonderful afternoon tea party in the garden, an amazing fireworks show, a special Christmas private afternoon tea party for each resident and a few guests, birthdays and Christmas are made special too. Mother is safe, well looked after and happy at Lorimer House and as a family we can highly recommend this place.
My mother has been a resident of Lorimer House for the last year and a half, and throughout that time, the care she has received has been nothing short of excellent. All staff have, without exception, been helpful and friendly, and particularly during her last days, we felt that she was cared for with such kindness and skill. A huge thank you to all of the staff!
Went to have 6 monthly review for my cousin, who is a resident and has been for the last 3 years. Staff member was very attentive and informative about the care my cousin was receiving. They are all very transparent and we felt confident that our cousin was receiving the best care possible. We are lucky that although our cousin is not very mobile she is mentally aware and quite capable of letting the home know her needs and the home generally complies. Our dealings with the staff are always very friendly and my cousin has integrated well with both the residents and staff.
My Dad moved into Lorimer House in February 2024. This is my family's third resident in this care home, both my in-laws were here in recent years. The surroundings, level of care provided, friendliness and professionalism of all staff are outstanding. It is very comforting for me to know that my Dad's care is tailored to his individual needs. My family and I are always made super welcome when we visit and we can see for ourselves how loving and caring the staff are towards the residents. Lorimer House and its beautiful gardens are kept in pristine condition thanks to the hard work and dedication of the wonderful staff.
A visit to my mum is something I look forward to as I can see how happy and well cared for she is. In the end stage of dementia, she is no longer able to find words to tell me how she is, but I know by her smiles when interacting with staff she is happy. All visits are met by staff with a smile who show patience and understanding in their delivery of care, and I feel they understand dementia care. Mum is always dressed carefully, taking into account her love of nice clothes. There are regular activities for all residents and events to include family, such as Christmas afternoon tea, during which families are left to enjoy the time with their relatives in private. A lovely care home where furniture and carpeting are changed if they show any kind of wear and tear, and the outdoor areas are maintained. Thanks to the manager and the team who ensure visits are always a joy.

My mother is being well cared for. Her needs are considered sensitively. The staff are positive and very friendly. As a family we were very pleased and impressed with the way in which the care home staff brought my mother to a family wedding. The member of staff who accompanied her dressed appropriately and looked after my mother during the event very well. She was well dressed and the staff on duty had helped her look her best.
Since my mother arrived at Lorimer House she has been looked after so well and it has been a great relief to all the family knowing she is receiving the care she needs. The staff are lovely and very patient and caring.
The festive high tea was absolutely perfect - 10/10. The table was set beautifully, did not expect anything like this. Full praise for everything, and had a lovely morning with my family. Nothing was a bother. The home is always well presented, and the staff are very welcoming. My aunt feels she could not be in a better place.
Mum and Dad moved into Lorimer House during Covid. My sister and I cannot thank the staff enough for their care in a very difficult time. This has continued to date, although now it is only Mum, as sadly, Dad passed last year. Our thanks go out to all the staff.
