View Full Details of St Raphael'sI would highly recommend St Raphael's Nursing Home. Up till just recently, my relative was being cared for by the staff in the Rutland unit who absolutely went above and beyond to care for her needs which they carried out 110% with the utmost care, respect, compassion and professionalism. I will never forget the comfort and support they all showed me personally and how well they took care of my relative throughout her time there. I will never forget what they did not only for my relative but for me through her palliative care they were a huge comfort to me and showed both of us such love and care. Thank you so much you will all have a special place in my heart for what you have done.
My aunt moved to St Raphael's 6 months ago. We had looked at St Raphael's a number of times but she declined to go. Deputy Manager very patient and understanding through these many visits. Finally, last October, Deputy Manager found us a perfect room and in a few days my aunt moved in. We were greeted by a lovely, friendly nurse who handles intake, she immediately put my aunt at ease. I live quite some distance and every time I phone my aunt is pleased. Staff have been communicative when issues have arisen (falls, new meds, etc.) which has been comforting. All staff have been pleasant, welcoming, professional and friendly. Couldn't be happier.
Dad has been a resident since December 2023. He has been very well looked after by the team at St Raphael’s and they have worked hard to give him personalised care. He enjoys the meals, the wine and the social activities, including the craft cafe, even though he is severely sight impaired. When he was unwell with delirium, the team went the extra mile to look after him, supported by the local Hospital at Home team. We would recommend the home to anyone who is needing 24-hour care, as he now does.
I chose St Raphael's for the friend I am guardian for as I had had excellent care for my aunt and my mother, over a period of eight years (2014-2022). My friend has autism, is completely deaf and has mobility issues - she is treated with respect and dignity, has her taste in clothing and menu choices completely indulged and, most importantly, is treated as an individual. I am thrilled to see carers and entertainment staff interact with her, bringing out her sense of fun and making her feel valid. I owe St Raphael's and all its staff and management a huge debt of gratitude.
The staff were attentive to the needs of the residents, particularly in personal hygiene.
A wonderful, welcoming, peaceful atmosphere as soon as you walk in. Very caring, attentive staff, always smiling and kind. I'm so pleased my sister lived her last days in such a great home.
My father has been cared for at St Raphael's for the past three and a half years. The care he receives is superb - he is treated respectfully, kindly and with love. The team of nurses and carers who look after him do the most amazing job. It gives me great reassurance that he is so well cared for.
All very good, staff keep you well informed if relative unwell etc. My aunt has been very poorly lately but staff have looked after her well and kept family updated in any changes to her condition.
My wife has been a resident since June 2023. She has Parkinson's and has lost her mobility. The care in St Raphael's is exceptional as is the range of activities and entertainment provision provided. There is a good staff to resident ratio and the accommodation is well suited to my wife's circumstances and needs. The home is set in a leafy residential area which adds to the generally positive atmosphere. Meals are interesting and varied.
My friend had a 100th Birthday and the staff were very helpful and kind and organised a lovely event where slightly difficult as no local family and several separate groups were involved. Lovely food and cakes provided by the home.
My relative in care at St Raphael's was very independent and reluctant to move into a care home. At the start, she resisted and complained. The staff were understanding and patient. After a few weeks, she settled very well and is now full of praise for the kindness of staff and the comfort of the home. It has taken a huge load off our shoulders - we know she is safe, secure, respected and well cared for.
My mother moved to St Raphael's in June 2023, she was already very frail and immobile. The nurses and care staff were kind and went to great lengths to get to know her, her likes and dislikes and to make sure she was comfortable. They were also good at keeping her family informed either in person or via the portal. We were confident in the staff skill set and were able to relax and enjoy our visits to Mum. A really supportive and caring environment was created by all working there.
From the very first day, my relative was made to feel at home and has been very settled and content throughout her stay. The staff are all very friendly and reassuring. The range of activities and entertainment is exceptional, the food excellent, and the surroundings bright and spotless. The move to St Raphael's has been a very good one.
We had to find a care home for my wife at short notice, and we were very lucky that St Raphael's had a vacancy. The family and I are very pleased with everything here and couldn't wish for a better place.
St Raphael's is a very special and unique care home. All staff provide exceptional quality of care, respect and dignity and are willing to go above and beyond their responsibilities. Particular attention is given to each resident's needs and interests to make them feel happy and safe "at home" - this is clearly evident and of paramount importance to give relatives and others peace of mind. Room sizes vary but are fitted with quality furnishings and some of the resident's personal possessions. The gardens are easily accessible with continual improvements. Menus/drink choices vary and cater for all diets, the standard of cleanliness is first class, and the vast range of weekly activities ensures residents enjoy a very high quality of life, despite their circumstances. Relatives, friends and the community are encouraged to visit and participate in St Raphael's life. I have no hesitation whatsoever in highly recommending this care home to anyone, as I would live there!
