View Full Details of Newark Care HomeWe have traveled from Wales (me,my wife and daughter) to visit a relative in this wonderful care facility. The staff we have come across have been professional positive and above all friendly to residents and us as visitors alike. We have visited twice a day for 5 days and have received a warm welcome and it is reassuring that our auntie is receiving excellent care many thanks.
Very happy with the level of care my brother receives. The staff are so helpful, nothing is a bother. My brother is happy with being here and loves the staff. Thank you all.
My mum has been very well cared for. All of the staff are professional and caring. Very happy with all of the services.
I have always found the staff very helpful and polite and very professional at their job looking after my mother.
It is a nice home in a nice town to live in.
Newark Care cared for my mum for the last few months of her life. The staff were forever helpful and considerate and during the pandemic adhering to rules but creating a home family environment and became family to my mum when we were not able to physically get in there to see her. My mum, being a local lady, we feel could converse with the cheery staff and made her time there most comfortable. The staff there must be under extreme pressure in these times, and I will be forever grateful for their kindness to my mum and to us the family on the outside.
As I do not have food in the home I can't say much about it, but my husband says that it is very good. Visting the home in the afternoon I am always given tea or coffee and cake. The home is very good to everyone and is as near to home as possible. All the staff are called by their first names.
As my mum's dementia gets worse, she is now significantly more reliant on all the staff in the facility, but I find that she is still treated with the dignity, compassion and kindness that I would always wish for her. All staff, including management and carers engage with her, making her days so comfortable and happy as they can. Staff are interactive and supportive of my mum and keep myself informed of any issues that may arise. I am grateful for their care, help and attention to my mum's well being.
I got a call to say mum was being taken to hospital late one night. The carer from Newark went with mum and did a great job in looking after her even though I was at the hospital too, she did a good job, very professional.
I find the staff very approachable to talk to about things. I know my mother is safe and protected by staff in the care home. The staff know my mother's likes and dislikes and respect these. The staff treat my mother with the utmost dignity and respect. The staff keep me updated with all aspects of Mum's ongoing care.
All the staff, carers and manager have been good with my late mum and dad's care. I could not have asked for any more.
As my mother-in-law's vascular dementia progresses, it became impossible for her to remain in her own home. Newark Care home has provided her with the level of care she requires in a safe and well-maintained environment. From the management and staff at every level, she has been treated with kindness and respect, doing their utmost to maintain her dignity. They have also been a great support to the family. I am grateful for all they have done and continue to do and would highly recommend Neward to others.
My aunt appears to be happy overall but the room cleanliness could be improved. The management are not easy to deal with and we feel not listened to. Although the staff are lovely, the designated carer is excellent and has a good relationship with my aunt.
This has been my first experience of a nursing home so I was very unsure of what to expect. After looking around at some nursing homes, I decided on Newark Port Glasgow. My mum has COPD and Dementia and it has been hard looking after her. On the advice from her psychiatrist, we chose Newark care home and she has settled in great. It is clean and is also fun. It has been a while since I have seen Mum laugh and she is smiling and laughing everyday. The staff and management team are second to none and the whole place is immaculate with beautiful gardens. I am so happy with the whole place and feel so relieved when I leave her as I know she is safe and well cared for.
Very helpful and pleasant staff. Always informed of any incidents that happy. Great food.
My father in law is in Newark Care Home, all staff are friendly and approachable. There is always something going on for the residents to take part in. Food is good and an alternative is always on offer.
Sometimes have a problem locating a member of staff in The Finlastone Wing. The meals are not of a quality expected. The room very often requires vacuuming. Response to call button needs to be shortened.
Since my father became a resident he has been treated very well by staff and management. Some of the staff go above and beyond what is their role and become part of your extended family. I feel the room decoration could do with improvement as many families have to do this at their own expense.
Great home, residents really well cared for. Lovely devoted staff. Great coordinator with residents. Great boss excellence in cleanliness, at all times. Could not have picked a better home. Keep it up, you are all fab. My dad loves it here his new home. I really miss my old dad the quiet man I adored, but through his illness, I am so glad he's happy in his new home and the excellent care he receives and I can go and see him every day. Sometimes I cry, then he makes me laugh so much, thanks to everyone who cares for my dad. God bless.
Newart staff are amazing, at least 99% of them. My only concern is that I feel nightshift need more staff as my Dad is up a lot at night and I worry if staff are attending to other patients. He could be very vulnerable (fall). Only 1 staff in unit at night and one floater.
